Like nearly every facility, they are understaffed, so if your loved one needs to be escorted to and from the dining room, this may not be the place for them. We ended up hiring private duty aid just to make sure she got to and from her room to the dining room. Ridiculous. The food is good. The hair salon is nice . Id say if your loved one has memory issues, this may not be the place for them

They are not at all responsive to calls and inquiries by phone. Some of the people who answer the phone are downright rude/poor bedside manner. It's nice otherwise but if it is a family who wants to hear from staff more, they will not get that here. The CNAs are very nice when you see them in person.

Staff seems overwhelmed at times and needs prompting at times to attend to ADLs. The quality of meals has been lacking.

I toured with The Kempton, memory care would get a 2.5 and the assisted living side would get a 4. When we we touring, it was dirty and staff were not caring for dementia patients properly. They seemed to be left to take care of themselves.

The staff was wonderful and the facilities are nice. Mom's room was not cleaned regularly or well. Many things we were told would happen were not follow through on. Sometimes medication's were not [name removed] according to the PAs instruction. There was not enough staff to take care of the residents. On a few occasions, mom was left hungry in her room. While we like the staff, overall, we were disappointed in the care for our mother.

They could improve of the keeping the facility cleaner and the food

The community could improve in food service and quality of food. Quality of activities is good. Value for the money needs improvement.

Everybody is very friendly. Some of the staff members will go out of their way to help you with any questions or concerns. But then other staff members never call you back, and you have to try to track them down in the lobby. They do a good job with cleanliness. They have a lot of activities. They just went through an ownership change though, and they will be making some changes, including their menu and food vendor. This used to be an all-inclusive facility, and it is not going to be once our lease is up. They say they're lowering the rent, but their food service is not going to be included, nor are they providing housekeeping. You'll have to pay extra for those things. It feels like a bait and switch, and I'm disappointed in that. It seems like they're forcing out some of the go-to employees as well, including our maintenance man, who was very friendly and very helpful.

The staff are knowledgeable at providing the care that is needed for my mom. They have been great since I was working with them from the start. I see they are very organized and thoughtful. The facility itself looks very clean from what I have seen when I visited. They do a pretty good job. We have family who are always available, there is no need to call a nurse.

Very nice staff and tour. My main concern is the ramps leading to the rooms that my legally blind MIL would have to negotiate.

Very nice place loved the food. No access to outside without asking permission. don't like that,my mom will never ask.Will never go outside unless I take heror they go out often.Very expensive.

I made the decision to move my mother (Alzheimer's) from an assisted living facility in Georgia to be closer to me in North Carolina last year. I LOVED HarborChase when I first visited. The staff was warm & friendly and genuinely caring. The facility itself was clean and in great condition. After 5 short months at HarborChase, I made another decision to move my mother out. Overall her care was awesome and I have no complaints about that. What I am unhappy about is that from day one, it seemed like management was constantly adding new charges to our monthly invoices. I went into the move thinking I would be paying one thing & each month it got increased. Not one month went by that I didn't question the charges or wonder why it kept getting more expensive. In December, they made the decision to program her for Memory Care during the day without consulting me first. Once this happened, the pressure increased to move her into the Memory Care Unit full time when a room became available. I knew that making this move would mean an even higher monthly invoice & financially I just couldn't do it. When I wouldn't agree to move her, management basically stated that they could no longer care for my mother. She is now in a small group home and is doing great!

This was very nice. It was clear that here, mom would need to be in memory care and to me, that just didn't seem like a good fit. There was no smell but it felt closed in to me, I wanted my mom not to be locked into a place but have the freedom to go out. I remember they had all these recliner chairs lined in a row and they said some people liked that and some people didn't, and I guess I was one of the people who didn't.

Both of my parents are dead now. I believe if there is any other alternative, don't put them in a facility. It is lacking in all areas and very expensive, and they did not get the care we paid for. When my mother was brought to the hospital just before she died , she had huge sores on her back and her skin was raw. The hospital was appalled.

We really liked the physical attributes of the community, the apartments themselves are very nice and the location is a big plus. The challenges however right now is their on boarding welcoming process is in need of an overhaul and improvement. The food has gone down hill quite a bit but we do know they are working on it. We also wish they would do a little bit better of a job with activities.

Food fantastic ,travel arrangements for drs appointment and rehab clinics outstanding. Room services a poor follow up and a multitude of maintenance problems

Very nice looking. We were given assurances which the new management did not honor. They are non-responsive and abuse the One Call Now system.

My mom was in dire straits and their staff did not send her to the hospital. After I took her They didn’t even know she was gone. Places is ok if you are in decent health but if you are fragile Do Not Send anyone there.
