At this point I would have to give Franklin Park in boerne ONE HALF STAR. That is 1/2 star because it is a nice new place. The staff is very inexperienced. The med aides are not smart enough for the importance of that job. Administration is not available or seem to care. I don't think I would even leave my pets in their care. It has been opened 2 months and almost the entire staff has been replaced. That says a lot.

Don't be fooled by the "fancy" decor - it might distract you from the fact that once they get you signed up, it is all about squeezing more money AND the quality of care is not a priority. My family members lives there now and if wasn't such a hardship, I would move her. She has no faith in getting responsive, quality care and I've seen it first hand. You have to work hard to get proper attention and even then it doesn't last. There are a few quality staff who truly care - I wish all of them did. I would NEVER choose Fairwinds if I had it to do over again.

My father in law has been there for over a year and I am truly sorry we didn't realize how dismal his experience would be -- they value appearance over quality of care. Many hidden costs ($3.50 to bring a meal to a room) and lack of basic functionality for their residents. One example is the "spa" ... it is too small to easily navigate with a scooter, which many of the residents use - down to the basics, nowhere to put a bar of soap. Yet they spend a small fortune redecorating for "More 5 Star Fun!" --- this is icing on a mud pie. How about having an RN on staff in the evenings? That would be far more meaningful than putting in a tall bar in the lobby. Yes, a bar. A tall bar. I am disgusted overall. At 97yo, "Pop" couldn't tolerate a move -- otherwise, we would. If you are shopping for quality, homey assisted living that is "resident focused" --- it isn't here.

Congratulations to the staff and the three Doctors that own this business, praying they can continue to borrow to keep it open!

This living community used to be amazing, I had my mom come take a tour two years ago but decided she would live with me for awhile. Now an incident has happened and we have started looking again. Fairwinds is nothing like it used to be. The staff and management has changed and not for the better I believe. I witnessed an employee talking down to a resident that I just didn't think was in anyway appropriate. I would never allow my mother to live in a place where she could get yelled at the way the woman was. The food has gone downhill and the cleanliness of the facility isn't as nice as it should be. For the price of this place it definitely isn't worth it!

This is a beautiful place, many pluses but it is all about profit, making money and please be aware when you sign up your elderly folks; money is the motivating force and you will be charged for every moment. When you leave (or are told to leave due to care beyond their ability), they charge you for 5 days of rent and care of each resident; I was given a bill for $1730.68 for the 5 days that my parents did not live there. The medical care at Fariwinds was minimal but there were opportunities to increase the care....for a price. Best of luck and please be aware.

I feel that MacKenzie Place is probably a good place for independent and assisted living. However, my husband was in the memory care for only 8 days and suffered from extreme neglect and was in the hospital for over two weeks recovering. I would not recommend the memory care unit in Fort Collins.

My mother was at this facility for about 3 months. I am a medical professional and found that there was a great deal of staff turnover, the nurse in charge and administrator were both "new" . This was in memory care and it appeared that their behavioral interventions were not effective or consistent. When I inquired about staff education there was little education on care of these patients and they mostly learned from a "more experienced" person who could have been there less than a month. They asked my mother to leave and said she needed to be in a psych unit. I transferred my mother to a facility in Oregon. She has not been on any psych meds and continues to be more delusional but we have not had any reports of behavior problems. Day and night as far as competent staff. I do not recommend MacKenzie Place !!

Our opinion is solely based on [Removed], owner, part owner, or whoever he claims to be for Peachtree Assisted Living. My family had a horrible experience based on his emails and his conversations with the hospice nurse. Our family member was disrespected by [Removed] as well as the hospice nurse during the last few minutes of our loved one's last breath of life. [Removed] should not be allowed anywhere near an assisted living facility. All other people at Peachtree the residents and employees were the best you could ever have around. The other residents showed kindness & unconditional love for our family member and our family by treating us with love & respect. They understood that our family member had a problem getting to the dining hall but they understood. We are concerned for the staff and residents who have an owner such as [Removed]. We did not know that our mother and grandmother was in rapidly declining health. We had an interview for her admission, she qualified for assisted living per Peachtree. She lasted 36 days! We thought that she would be there for a longer term. My wife met with [Removed] and [Removed] signed the papers to get my mother-in-law into Peachtree. My wife had one check with her that she wrote for $1,425. Thirteen days later I get an email from Steven demanding a check. I had no idea any of the discussions by Steven, Jennifer & my wife about the money. So we exchanged emails until finally it was clear that Steven demanded an undated check in the amount of $1,425 for he to hold in perpetuity. Must have been a big deal since the email from Steven came at 8:49pm on April 23, 2014. Real important! I didn't realize that my family were such a bunch of deadbeats!!! On my mother-in-law's last day on earth, Steven & Jennifer [Removed] tried to control the hospice nurse who is licensed by the State of Alabama to administer morphine to a dying patient, [Removed] "I do not want to lose my license because of a stupid patient and stupid nurse." Thank you [Removed] of Peachtree Assisted Living Facility Owner!

think twice before placing anyone here .. nothing but lies and overpriced

This company and property puts on a false appearance. Looks like it is nice - but once in there with a management leasing person, it is hard sell pressure with phoney promises with high pressure to write the check and sign a contract. Once you sign and are promised services and ammenities, this does not exist. The director is never available. She is always behind closed doors. The building smells. I see dog poop on the carpet by elevators. Activities are non existent for the residents despite the calendar that has nothing but lies and fluff on it. Residents who apparently have been there from previous management company say this new company stinks and lies. They treat us like kids. The van never works. Many people move in but move out. The property on Sims road has many problems with the state of Florida inclusive of a drowning and falls. This property has many falls and injuries. Don't move here
