The staff the med techs the activities Director are wonderful but the turnover in the front office left little to be desired.

Very poor management does not follow their contract illegal practices. We picked this community because of property appearance and amenities.

This facility does the bare minimum to comply with state minimums. The only thing they they are concerned about is “money”. The food is horrible. We are not here to be cared for, rather we are here to accomsdate the staff. The executive director told us 10 weeks ago that things would get better. Perhaps they have for him but for the residents NO. I am fiscally restricted from moving so I spend 350 a month for food. My med times change depending on who my med tech is. I spend an hour three times a day waiting in line for food in what they call a “fine dining facicility” I spend four hours a day waiting for meds

My rating would be much higher if she had been in an assisted living situation. Food needs to be more comfort food than restaurant meals. Staff needs to be more proactive in their care for residents. We payed a lot to have high end care and it was mediocre at best.

For the most part the staff is very kind, especially during the day. Overnight is iffy. Very few activities, residents in pajamas right after dinner. The biggest issue is the director. Claims residents have needs that they don’t, insists on being paid for services not provided, seems to hate that it’s a memory care, argues with families and other providers, does not want anyone on hospice. I have never dealt with anyone like her and I hear my mom’s providers say the same thing. Facility “loves the psychotropic meds” and will insist they are necessary. Will claim anything possible as an excuse to use meds, even though providers disagree. The building is nice but the experience with the director has been horrible.

I lived in the Independent Living section for a little over 4 years. In the beginning it was a nice quiet neighborhood and management at that time cared about Ashbrook. It changed management companies 3 times and with each new management things got worse from lack of maintenance and repairs to lack of communication. All the cottages are in need of updates and repairs. They look sad and worn. Plus each new company raised the rent and decreased services. The current lmanagement company immediately raised the the rent more than 150% and gave residents less than 30 days notice which was cruel and heartless. Many of us have found other places to live, but some are still looking. My advice is do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

I have been here for thre months. Tonight I went fifteen hours without pain medication. After twelve hours I pushed my emergency pendant. Waited an hour and pressed my pendant again. Waited 45 minutes and ulled my room alarm. A girl responded and told I would get my meds and to turn my tv down. Waited for 20 minutes and went into the halls on the 4th floor, the first floor, the second floor, the third floor yelling for assistance. Went back to the 1st floor lobby to call the police when a youngster showed and, adversarily, asked me what my problem was. It got worse from that point. She ended by repeating that I was distracting her and she “didn’t care”. There is a floor that is closed. Memory care and special care. I wonder what kind of treatment they are receiving. Some of the nurses/med techs treat me as if I were cattle. The dining room is as bad

They could make improvements with their activities based on the cognitive level of the individuals. If they had better activities they would not have to medicate the residents as much as they do - that was a big disappointment for us. They could also improve on more staffing.

This assisted living has gone downhill in the past year. There is a shortage of caregivers and constant turnover. Issues are not resolved. Call buttons are often answered late or not at all. Sometimes medications and meals are late. Caregivers are minimally trained, primarily with no medical background. Some caregivers are nice, others are not. Because of the labor shortage, they take whatever they can get.

While our loved one was here we did not have a good experience, there was a lack of care and activities. Our loved one had no social interaction whatsoever, the staff would not even do a puzzle with them. Their laundry was not consistently cleaned and they were not able to handle our loved ones medication, they were not willing to work with us in anyway. It took months for us to get a refund. Everything about this community needs improvements and right now we would not recommend to other families.

Mom lived there just shy of 2 years and experience was very mediocre due to constant turnover of staff. She was very lucky to have a couple tenured caregivers that were amazing but the lack of staff ended up burning them out. Unfortunately, we recently had to move her out due to medication errors and lack of administrative presence/accountability. Very stressful for Mom to change environments but her safety/well-being took priority

I had initially toured this facility before COVID. Their area for assisted living was beautiful. I recently went back looking particularly at their memory care units for my father. I was so disappointed. There was an terrible smell throughout the unit. The carpets were stained. The residents that I saw were just sitting around looking unengaged. It reminded me of nursing homes back in the 70's.

I would recommend you avoid the memory care area of Grace Senior Living at Chesterfield. My loved one was there and there was an event that required an ambulance, and the staff never reached out to the family about this issue. My loved one ended up in the hospital for an extended period of time. I paid two months in advance and Grace wouldn't refund any of this money after only having my loved one there for a short amount of time.

in person tour and the facility and it just seemed kind of dark and loud. You could see people just walking around and going to dinner that was it, and the crowd seemed a little more elderly. It was not a stimulating environment.

Our family had an in person tour, and the community was just not for us it was very old dark and stale feeling.

It is very clean, but the staff is very misleading. Once we got my loved one got in to the community the staff said they could no longer care for my loved one, and this was after the evaluation prior to them moving in. I felt it was more of a sales pitch from the staff, than about the care that my loved one would receive.

When my loved one moved in, it had a different name. Without our knowledge, Gladwell was already taking over the facility, but we weren't informed. It was a good experience up until that point. And then all the things they were doing and said they could do, Gladwell would no longer do. Even simple things, such as administering eye drops. From what I understand now, they didn't have the licensing to do those types of things. It was a horrible experience. We felt like we were deceived because no one told us this was happening. Their billing was so confusing. It was ridiculous the way they presented everything. It was a huge mess. The nurses were nice enough to him, and there were no horrible people there. But they were having to get used to the all the changes as well. We've since moved and think of Gladwell as a bad memory.

The friendliness of the staff members is mixed, very simply this community was very warm and inviting getting us there, everyone was very helpful. It turns out our loved one has a very progressive neurological disease, and unfortunately the care they advertised was not what they promised. Those staff members that were friendly, became rude towards us. The dining room is slow, it takes a long time being seating, a long time to order,and a long time to receive the food you ordered. For a resident with good health it is a good value, probably one of the better ones. If you are not healthy it is not a good value, With the care services and care givers there were some that could not of been better, and others who could of used some improvement.

My parent lives here. On the overall, it's a really nice well maintained facility. The employees are kind. However, one huge area of complaint for the residents is always the food!! The residents pay for it, but Fairwinds does NOT provide high quality, fresh food that is well prepared. For example, the "Cobb Salad dinner entree has NO dressing, no egg, no bacon, and no blue cheese (only a mozzarella like cheese product). Since the residents are on lockdown, food is one of the very few things they have to look forward to and Fairwind's cheapens out and leave the residents disappointed that they cannot get a good meal with all of the hard earned money they pay. It is a shame they do not value their residents more. The kitchen staff should prepare the meals to be like something they would want to eat. It is unfortunate the facility does not respond to resident feedback.

Our mom was one of the first residence at Grand Villa. She loved it there for many years and really enjoyed being involved in the activities there. However, the care and services at Grand Villa has deteriorated over the past 2 years so much so that my mom asked that she be moved some place else. We tried to resolve issues with the Nursing Supervisor and Director on numerous occasions but did not get really anywhere with them. There is a lot of staff turnover there now also which does not go over very well with many elderly individuals. Very sad to see a place that started out so "Grand" become a place that seems not to take care of their residents as well as they should be taken care of.
