Small one bedrooms cost much too high for what is available.

I was not impressed with my tour of this community. I feel like this community is ran like a business. The environment was a not homey atmosphere. I knew this was not the facility for my love.

I already met with [Removed], the Executive Director on June 12 and was assured that these simple requests would be fulfilled: 1. Post a weekly meal menu either online or at the facility 2. Place a bench at the outside entry so that the elderly residents and visitors can sit while waiting for someone to open the door As of July 28, neither request has been met. While these are no where near my concern for my dad's care, they have also been forgotten or ignored.

I will say there is room for improvements in this community. I do have many concerns regarding my fathers care. They have been going through a lot of administration changes, and that is concerning to me. They say they can not force anybody to eat. My father stays in his room all day, and misses most of the meals. The meals could use some improvements, but I would like to see them be more encouraging. The staff for the most part are kind, and friendly overall, but I do feel they are understaffed. Unfortunately I can not recommend this community at this time. Until they make some changes.

this one didn't feel as independent. again, I am looking for a place with no meals included. for example, Rossmoor or Oakmont, though I don't care for oakmont and am hoping for a cooler environment than rossmoor.

I was not impressed with my tour of this community. The appearance of the community was not good. They could do a better job with the cleanliness of the facility. At the moment they are transitioning with a new director, and I didn't feel comfortable with that. The room they showed me was small. I knew from my tour that this was not the community for my mother.

I was very dissatisfied with this community, during our tour I had noticed that the lobby was very small and seemed very crammed for all of the residents they had. I also thought there was not enough activities available and the packages they offered where way over priced for what they had available. I would not want my loved one living in this place and would not recommend it.

The tour we had lead me not to pick this community. I feel the community did not have the adequate needs for my dad.

I was told before placing my mother at Fairwinds that she would be kept happy and involved, that they would have a mentor show her around and be a friend, and that hasn't happened. I feel that once she was in there, they kind of left my mom on her own. I've had to make several calls about things happening. When she calls the front desk, she won't hear back from anyone. She uses a walker and could not get through a door because it closed too fast on her. A physical therapist was supposed to help her with mobility and that took forever to get started. The gym director is really good, they started a range of motion class. The staff is friendly. The food is very good. They do offer activities but she could use some encouragement to participate. They gave her $2 once to play bingo, so that was nice. The activity calendar looks good.

Nice inside however they did not give my dad the care he needed. He has a bed sore they are covering their tracks by discharging him from the facility.

I feel like they didn't watch him as close as they should have. They didn't seem to be very diligent with making the residents use their assistive devices. A staff member even admitted to me that they are very short staffed. When they assessed him they came to the house, and we were very clear from the beginning about the fall risk, but it wasn't a very thorough assessment, and they didn’t seem to take what we had to say into consideration. I think had our loved one had been a little stronger and not as fragile, it would have been okay, as they specialize in dementia. We have had a terrible time getting our money back, and they have been very rude about it. All in all this was not a good experience for us at all. If your loved one is a fall risk this may not be the best choice.

Go somewhere else alls they care about is getting your money.

Community Director was resourceful and helpful. Unfortuantely, since they did not have a model to show, instead she showed me a dreary, stripped room. She should have avoided showing me this since it left an unprofessional picture. The facility is very dated and ugly. Carpets are stained and the patients seemed distant. I would not recommend this place. It was depressing. Renovations, i'm told will be forthcoming and will be undertaken for a year.

When we were first there, they had great management, but then the new management came in, they weren't clean, the staff weren't dressed nicely they just weren't proffessional, their shoes would be untied. It was bad. They just didn't know what they were doing, it was horrible. Their staff people were quitting and they would bring in people that didn't know what they were doing. I don't know who owns them now but I know what happened when he was there. Those people are gone. They fired everybody, and brought in new people, after we left. It's a beautiful building and the inside is nice. I would check it out to see what it's like now but that's how it was when we were there.

It's a little less worse than the last place. They just opened so they have room for improvement. Nobody returns a phoen call, nobody gives a damn.

The major plusses [removed] Tall Douglas Firs surround the property, pastoral setting, with paved walk ways perfect for my Dad, using his walker, to get out and touch the earth! Spacious apartments and nice lobby. Friendly staff, but seemed to be short-staffed, or always "running." [removed] Food -- could be improved to include more fresh vegetables and less fried stuff. A little too close to the old school cafeteria. But some residents, my loved one included, have lost their discerning taste buds and don't mind. At least it could be more nutritious. Big [removed] Allowing residents to sleep in the lobby -- especially in their wheel chairs with oxygen tanks. It just presents as a place where people are "parked" for the day, and "we don't care about you," even if that's not true. Also, beware of the "hidden costs" for the extra services. Also, falsely advertised transportation [removed] The bus is always full with people who have reservations for medical appointments. Visits to the spouse at a skilled nursing center near by could not be facilitated as promised. Not much effort is made for social integration and activities.

My loved one was left alone without any assistance from the staff. I would not recommend this location unless someone can wash and take care of themselves without assistance. Very bad experience with Fairwinds that is hard to even talk about.

Too much concrete and asphalt. Do not believe we would be interested in this facility.

rooms were old outdate. cabinets and tile old and chipped. no carpet in rooms.
