Overall they seem to be thriving more at Volante than they were at home. They seem to be very happy here and like being here which in turn makes me happy. Laundry and cleaning people once a week. The staff is helpful and friendly. We've had a couple indiscretions with aide staff but it was addressed immediately and the person was taken off care of my grandparents. Once a week is the norm unless you pay for it more frequently. I visited a couple different places and ultimately am very happy with my decision.

The corporate buy out has resulted in price increases and staff cuts. There are many near misses due to on-set memory care needs ( accidents, fires, etc)

It's smaller than where she was in the past and I think that it helps that almost all the staff knows who she is. It is very clean and almost everyone is very friendly and nice. There's always one who's not but they usually don't last long. Mom says the food could be better. I think they need an area to work on puzzles. She likes jigsaw puzzles. I suggested that but it didn't happen. Also the color of the rooms are dull. Gray floors and gray walls. But overall she is well taken care of.

Have been here for one month and am settling in. Staff have been very helpful in the process. Room is clean, bright and well set up. Having a full kitchen is a huge plus as well as fridge and microwave. Bathroom is adequate as well as plenty of storage space. All things considered this was an excellent choice for me.

I will share my experience. All the assisted living facilities that we checked charge extra rent for the spouse to stay with the husband or wife needing the care [amount removed]. However, at Ackerly, if you are on the assisted living floors (1st & 2nd floors), they charge an extra [amount removed]for the spouse for care even if you don't need the care. So this is something that you should be aware of.

The employees at Volante on all levels are very genuine in the care of each resident. The food is very good. The Chef has a very nice offering of variety as well special dishes and desserts for holidays. The Activities Director and staff are amazing working hard to bring the residents a variety of games and activities and holiday celebrations.

Because of the age , there are not a lot of common areas to visit, or have meals with Mom. But hey have a lot of turn over (or seems) with the medical techs. All very young. They are very willing to help and flex their operations to accommodate mom's needs. All staff are very friendly and caring.

In general, the staff is friendly. While some are more helpful than others, I have always been able to get the help I need. The salaried staff is not always friendly. They will not make eye contact or speak if they can avoid doing so. Fairwinds is a beautiful place. The housekeeping staff is thorough. As with any institutional cooking, the food is made in large quantities. This means that some meals are better than others. Compared with another "Place for Mom" in another state, comparable prices, I would say that the meals are on par. I'm paying more for less space and have to do my laundry down the hall. (Two bedroom apartments come with laundry in the apartment.)

Carpeting needs replacing. Fair pricing . Nice but no frills. Care is decent. Nice outside courtyard and garden area.

We chose Volante of Largo because of the closeness to my home, room size and my father in law lived there in the early 90's. The management does not follow through when issues arise.

My introduction to Fairwinds was very positive. The tours that I would go on had to have pets. They even walk my dog twice a day at an additional charge of course. The people that I have met are very friendly including the help. Everyone is very pleasant !

When I started looking for a place for the elderly gentleman I am in charge of, I visited 4 places. Two of the places were too far away and the last one I visited was Volante of Pinellas Park. I was very impressed with the cleanliness and the kindness of the people who work there. I filled all of the paperwork and was told it should take 2 weeks to get the room ready and get "[name removed]" moved in. That was the first week in January. Unfortunately, the facility had a "week of awards" in Orlando and then some other stuff going on and it wasn't until the first week in February that he finally got moved in. Now that he is there, all seems to be going well.

Volante is very homey, and filled with friendly residents. However, some services that were mentioned during the tour are not included, it's an extra cost. There is also no one to call during the night if there's any emergency in independent living.

We have been very disappointed in the housekeeping for my mom's actual apartment. I have had to ask them to come and vacuum. I do not see the weekly housekeeping for her apartment that was promised and it is very disappointing. Everyone has been consistently friendly and we are there frequently. Interactions have always been pleasant with the exception of the bookkeeper. Her emails and approach need some serious polishing. She definitely needs practice refining a positive approach. Care seems fine! My mom is fairly independent so no complaints as of yet in this area. The director of sales and the Director of housekeeping have been incredibly kind and friendly. They are always pleasant and take the time to chat and fill me in on how my mom has been doing. The director has been equally nice, I just don't see him as often. We have eaten there a few times and the food has always been tasty. Sometimes the desserts seem like they are prepackaged and frozen, but they are still tasty. My Mom loves the food and thus far we have no complaints in this area. She particularly loves the breakfast and the opportunity to order off of an alternative menu if she does not like what is being served. The staff in the cafeteria is very nice and they take good care of her from what we have seen. There seem to be lots of activities. I'm not sure how consistently my mom participates, but we are encouraging her to take advantage of all that seems to be available. I can't provide much more feedback than that, yet. I think their prices are absolutely outrageous and almost prohibitive. The yearly increase is ridiculous and I'm still trying to wrap my mind around how much it costs to live in an assisted living community. I think it is absolutely out of control.

The staff here is very nice. They are helpful and well trained. The building entrance had way dining room are always neat, clean and well maintained. Food is usually very good with several choices.

I feel safe. I love all the people and friends. I have made.

I would recommend for assisted living. We picked them because of the atmosphere and location.

It has been good with no complaints

The cost is a little high. The people that work with the residents are great! And since my friend has been there, it is great. The workers in the cafeteria always encourage the residents to eat. In the activities rooms, the workers have fun things to make or do!
