Traditions of Wayland used to be a great place to live for my Mother. She has lived there for several years. The Staff and Management used to be really great. Now the staff is very unpleasant and never smile. Things have changed drastically in the past month. The new staff are not experienced. The home my mother used to enjoy, she nolonger enjoys. The place is messy and unorganized. All the new changes in staff past few months have not been great. The food is bland and does not taste well anymore. The Activities Director that my mom loved quit recently. The dining department just recently lost two of the best people who made the overall dining service pleasurable for my mom and the other residents. The dining service has been awful lately and the dining staff have been unpleasant. The housekeeping staff used to be great and now noone keeps areas clean anymore. Considering moving my mother to a different location if things do not improve.

I am confused who is writing these positive reviews they must be phony or sadly new residents that have not truly experience the ignorance and poor management This facility has gone down rapidly so many families pull family out good staff left and the question asked why? All due to Executive Director and head nurse with annoying voice unless she squeaks as she lies This Executive Director has no heart for his residents he is a liar gossiper unprofessional and we so tired of hearing about your upcoming marriage Focus on the residents stop your chit chat and help stop hiding in your office and lying you are destroying a once great place

We had to move our parents the management is horrible the Executive Director [name removed] lied to us He was unprofessional He won’t return calls He has no clue about his residents The head of Nursing she is a joke besides her annoying voice she too lies lies lies so good bye!

My mom was in this supposed community. She was put on the unit for the residents who are left to die. I never knew the difference between assisted living and long term care, because it was never explained to me. The only person who was trying to make a difference and showed compassion is now gone. This nurse worked more hours than I have seen in a long time in this community.My mom had wounds all over, the director of nursing called in specialist, changed her orders and cared. Than the new ED got rid of her. Reason I was told, not the perfect fit! after speaking to multiple lawyers, The Brookside is trying to make themselves into a skilled facility that they are not licences to be. They are keeping residents far past the safety threshold and need to have true legal action to protect the public from there neglect. buyers beware and know the difference between LTC and AL

Extremely Disappointed Things seem to be being going in a downward spiral with new Executive Director Staff and Families are not happy [Removed]

My mother passed away at this facility. She was on the unit they called hospice. I saw all residents that belonged in long term care, wounds terrible, and the ED who was all about building census #numbers!!. He also degraded the resident service director who seemed very knowledged, also who I have learned was let go. Sad, cause this women I met 2x and showed more compassion than the last who was there 5 yrs. My family also was very upset with the gapping wounds my mother had, and this director of nursing cared to get the best care for my mother in her dying days. Brookside are crooks, please don't bring anyone you care about to this facility. [Name removed] (old ed) picked a great nurse to fix this building, now sad to say going in horrible direction. My family will fix legally all this in court!

My mother spent 40 days in Brookside. Her last day triggered her heart condition. She repeated the same conversation with aids [Removed]. She never recovered from his conversation. Upon giving notice, the new Executive Director tried to hold back money the company was not morally entitled. The corporation did return our prepaid fees. It took much effort for the return of those advanced fees. The corporate contacts were consistently fired. I had to contact several corporate personnel in order to have a resolution. The food is disgusting. This is a consistent complaint. Some of the food is a chocking hazard. It cannot be cut into bite sized portions. I actually brought a dinner back to the administration and asked them to eat it. Of course it was refused. I was assured things would improve. Not in my mother's tenure. This is beautiful on the surface. Peel back a layer and experience the real Brookside. So much potential, so poor the reality.

Care staff that help mom very good housekeeping could be better. Food is Kosher that is a plus Management lacks that care and heart I feel needed in a community such as this New Director too gossipy talks about others leaves me concerned what he says to others about mom and I Very expensive but where isn't it everywhere is costly Activities very nice

BEWARE!!! My Mom was at the Brookside for 5+ years. She suffered from Dementia which progressed over the time she was there. A few years ago, the place was sold to the Kaplan Organization. Since then it went downhill. They brought in a new director, [Removed], who was more concerned with the cosmetics of the facility than the care for its residents. The staff was changed to include friends and unqualified caregivers. The turnover rate became weekly. Different faces of employees daily. My Mom eventually qualified for Medicaid. That's when the care really changed to almost inhumane. My Mom's care got so bad that she had sores all over, she was dehydrated regularly and she was malnourished. I had to have her hospitalized and moved to another home. Within a week after this happened and I complained, several supervisors were let go. Unfortunately, the wrong people were blamed and fired from their positions. The real problem starts at the top with the director, [Removed]. It's unfortunate for the current residents, future residents and the Kaplan Organization that this woman manipulates and puts blame on others in order to keep her job. [Removed]. She should be held accountable for the poor care and conditions that is bringing the quality of the Brookside down to the level it is. There are several residents and many employees that are afraid to say anything to avoid retaliation from the top management. [Removed] should be fired before it's too late. Keep your loved ones away!!!

Horrible place!!!! Staff is horrible, admin is horrible! They have bed bugs and other bugs! I've found roaches in the hallways where my mother was staying. Also some of their aides don't speak English and They are not certified!! I am calling state sometime today or tomorrow. They should not have non certified CNA or CHHA's taking care of these residents! They have no training! And every resident I see has bruises or cuts! Including my mother!

Please do not bring your parents here. When it was Longwood Place it was the best place in the state. The employees and management at Longwood place was there for ever and always cared for the residents. All of Longwood Place team has left in one year time, what does that tell you. No one in there right mine would ever bring there parents there.This is a company that keeps buying places up. They are in it just for the money. It is sad that Longwood Place is gone. These chains are going around buying all these small assisted livings and sooner or later they sell out or fold.

Any positive review is done by LCB, this place is so cold to the residents. Management and all the help from Longwood Place is gone is less than a year. Do not bring your parents here. There are so many places that are more caring. This company is in it just for the money. STAY AWAY

We are not so pleased with The Brookside. Yes it is pretty. Yes they are oh so nice when you are signing up. Not only do they misinform you, they outright lie. The communication between the staff is horrible. They fail to notify family members of important health related incidents. This is all I will say for now. Just think twice before trusting this place to handle the care of your loved ones.
