I am sure that this place would be a great fit for someone else, but it was not what we were looking for. It was a higher level of care. Everyone was very friendly that was not a problem, but it was not the first choice for us.

The staff here is pleasant. Great people, a clean facility, and the residents seem to be happy. Activities are fun and the residents seem to enjoy them. A family atmosphere. We haven't been here long, but so far so good.

I felt like it was more of a home than a warehouse.It is expensive but I do trust the day staff.

I thought she would get more personalized care and for the price. It was ok for what we needed at the time but probably would not recommend. It was too crowded. My loved one did not get the care she should have. She was worse off when she left than when she got there.

We picked this community, because of the location, day program, and it was close to our church.The overall experience, has been pretty good. The tour experience was good. We like the home life atmosphere. My loved ones roommate is great!

One of my biggest issues is that, transportation to and from for required medical appointments is an extra charge. The care services overall needs to be improved. The environment is good for my loved one, and it's a smaller more intimate setting. My loved one does not like the food, and would like to see better options on the menu but then again my loved one is a picky eater.

This was a smaller community and had a smell to it.

Had an appointment at 10 AM. They were not expecting me, but the activities director showed me around the house. Facility was clean and residents looked like they were well cared for. Activity director had a hard time getting anyone interested in activity. Spoke with [named removed] by phone.

My dad stayed here 4 yrs ago and died there. The staff was very nice., however they were from different countries so he had problems understanding them. Also, the food was not good. They would have hot dogs and chips for lunch, sandwich's, etc. It wasn't a lot of healthy food. I felt the care was good. I think they were kind to him and [Removed], the owner was very nice to us. I felt they could use more staff or at least volunteers. There are many people who want to volunteer after retiring and they could have helped staff with non medical things. The house and rooms were very clean. It was a nice home.

My dad was only at this care home for a short time as they were not equipped to handle his needs. They only have one staff member during lunch. They do not offer meal choices as I was advised before he moved in. They cook the same thing for all the residents. My dad had trouble chewing and some stuff he did not care for. They did keep the community clean. .

This was one of the first places I looked at and I wasn't really sure what all I was looking for at that time. It seems like they only had one person there for too many people. I just wasn't sure that they had enough people taking care of the residents there. That was my feeling. Supposedly they had two there during meal times and bedtimes but two people for 8, maybe it's adequate but it depends on how much help they need. If everyone needed a lot of help, I just can't imagine how they would do it.

Home, ~$4200/month. I would like to have dad at a facility with slightly more mentally active adults. Not sure he would accept living in a group home if he see's people that are worse than he is.

liked the home atmosphere and location. she would not want a roomate. they work w/hospice care as well. this is close to where Grandma used to live. Both sisters like as well. Felt small for so many bodies, brother said other locations were larger. Don't know what we are comparing to at this point.

We did like the home

This is a Residential Care Home - owned by Michael Zisliss. He owns 14 of these homes in town. He does a great job. He has some homes that are secure, some that are not. He has 20+ years experience in Physical Therapy, he does a great job with residents and care, and a room here could be around $3500/month. He does roll to Medicaid.

Staff is great. Very helpful, and always eager to please. Administrative personnel slow in getting back to you. No live TV. Only Netflix and you tube. My Mom complains about the food. Said they had noodles seven days in a row.

This facility was located on Hunter's Hill. [Removed], the contact/staff/manager reached out to contact us immediately - was very responsive. This facility was not conducive to [Removed] needs. Little socialization. Only female clients and staff was not at the skill level of the other locations. Activities were minimal. We went expecting to see lunch being served, but even when we left the facility at 12:30 - 12:45 pm the meal was just being prepared. And we weren't invited to stay to lunch with the clients. Also [Removed] had forgotten our appointment. At first we were told he wouldn't be able to see us and then he arrived 30 minutes into our visit.

When I moved my grandmother in, Serenity House had just sold to Assured Living, and there were a lot of staffing problems due to the merger. Grandma had a very tough transition. So much happened I couldn't begin to tell you in a text. Her room wasn't really ready for her. Her closet still has a bunch of stuff in it from a previous resident, or they're just storing stuff there. They have hired a couple now that lives on site. Things have really improved since [name removed] and [name removed] were hired. A few of the Serenity staffed stayed and they are very good too. Quality of care is a 5 now that they are staffed again. When we first arrived, the quality of care was pretty bad. The meals could be better with fresh vegetables and fruits. They cook a lot from canned foods and prepackaged products. [name removed] and [name removed] do exercise and sing with them, which is great. When I interviewed with Serenity, [name removed] , the previous owner, promised a lot more activities. I think they are fairly priced according to the market rate.

My father suffers from Alzheimer's and we chose to place at Serenity House. One of the main reasons we could not care for him at home anymore was because he would be awake most of the evening and wander about the house. When we spoke with [Name removed] and the caretakers at Serenity House, we were assured that they were able to deal with this behavior and had much experience with Alzheimer's patients. We were told there was a door chime on my father's bedroom and that the overnight staff would be alerted that he was out of his room. The first week my dad was there, we got a call from Serenity House saying my father couldn't stay in that home because he kept wandering into the rooms of other residents. This was upsetting and confusing because we had been open about this, and assured by the staff that they could deal with this. A few days later, my mom went to visit my dad and was told he was moving that day to another house way across town. This was very upsetting to my mother and not a decision that was in the family's best interest. I called[Name removed] and had to speak with him at length. After that conversation he said they would find a home for my dad closer to us. At the new home there were continuing problems. The staff were very kind and caring, but did not seem to know how to re-direct a person with Alzheimer's. Then one day [Name removed] called me and was very rude. He was upset about an incident that I was not aware of and he did not take time to explain. He interrupted me constantly and was very condesending. During that conversation, it was apparent that he did not have all the information and I had to correct him several times, as did the other staff that was on the line. I've never been treated so rudely and unprofessionally and am appalled that my mother was paying $4.600 a month for us to be treated like this. There are several other incidents that I won't take the time to write down. Serenity House seems to take good care of elderly patients, but in my experience the staff were not trained or experienced in Alzheimer's/memory care. I would not recommend them for these types of conditions.
