L and M Serenity, LLC

Both our parents are at one of the Serenity houses and like it very much. They had been in a larger institutional sized location but Mom was having problems with the big size and number of people due to on set of dementia so once we moved them to Serenity she was much better. We feel that for the type of care that many elderly need this is by far the best way to go. Small in size. Feels like home. More attention when needed. Home cooked meals. Great food. Secure environment. Friendly and very helpful staff. We found out about Serenity House through the referral service "A Place for Mom" Great place to start when looking for a place for our parents. Can't recommend Serenity House enough. They are the BEST!

My 100-year-old mother has lived in the Serenity House on Portland Drive for almost a year. She receives individualized attention to all aspects of her life. For example, her medications are regularly and accurately dispensed according to her doctor's orders, her nutritional needs are met appetizingly and there are friendly and compassionate people with whom to socialize. Her personal needs are met with warmth, care and tenderness. Her bedding is changed and laundry is washed at regular intervals or when there is a need. There are regular in and out-of-house activities that are fun and lively. The 24-hour on-scene house managers are qualified to quickly evaluate urgent medical situations and determine the best way to address them. And they have the same care, patience and concern for all the residents. The managers are like family. There is open communication with them and, if there is one, every question is answered satisfactorily. The house is clean and welcoming. There is no better place for my mother.

I can't stress enough how pleased I am with the care that my mother receives here. My mother-in-law was also at this house a few years ago before passing away from Parkinson's related issues. I have never had a problem or concern that the staff hasn't addressed immediately. The food is wonderful, nutritious and well balanced. The house is always immaculately clean and there is a huge effort to make this a place where it is as much like a "family" as possible. It is such a painful decision to make when you feel that your loved one needs to be in an alternate care situation, but I think that the homeiness of Serenity is certainly 2nd best and often provides better care than you can yourself.

My father was a resident at a Serenity House facility for approximately 2 years. He always felt welcome and well cared for. The staff is exceptional in all aspects of senior care. Activities are well planned and safe. The home was always clean and well maintained. I highly recommend Serenity House.

We toured this location when we were looking into care needs for a loved one. I thought everything here looked great! It was a nice looking place, very clean, and the staff were all friendly and professional. The only reason we didn't select this community was that we found one equally as excellent that was located more conveniently for our family.

We are blessed to have our mother reside at the Carter House, one of the Serenity Homes. Our mom is happy, and is well cared for at this home, and it is a home, not a nursing care facility. We know our mom is safe, has delicious meals prepared for her, and participates in interesting activities appropriate for a senior her age. The caregivers are knowledgeable, kind and very friendly. We could not be happier with Mike Z. and his staff running the Serenity Homes. We are lucky!

My experience with the Serenity House since my mother moved in has been great. It is a smaller community with a small group of residents and a full time resident manager. It provides the high level of care my mother truly needs. There is no concern of her needs and wants falling through the cracks at any time. It also gives me the peace of mind I need at all times, because I know she is always being taken care of.

We were really happy with the service here. They were very caring, and completely able to handle the 24 hour dementia care that my Mom needed. There were a few issues that we had, however. Mom needed help moving around, and the women who worked here were all very small and struggled when it came to some of the movement help Mom needed. The other issue we had is that English was not their first language, so when they would talk amongst themselves during the day it wasn't something Mom could participate in.

We needed to find a place for my mother asap. She had been in the ER/hospital since Saturday night and could not go back to her assisted living facility. I called A Place for Mom late Sunday night. Lynnette put me in contact with Serenity House and they came to visit with Mom that morning. We were able to have her placed in a warm home environment on Tuesday. They have been wonderful and caring. They were so thorough and concerned with setting up her care. We are very happy with our experience so far.

My dad and uncle both live at there. They were originally at anothe Serenity House but had to move to this one for 24 hour care. Serenity House has been extremely accommodating. I've got to give them high marks for all their patience. I didn't expect that they were going to pack my dad's and uncle's things when they moved from one Serenity House to another. When I go there they had them all packed up! They have great caregivers and are wheelchair accessible. Michael, the owner, is so accommodating. They've made it wonderful for us!

They conducted an evaluation before moving our loved one into the community so they could place her in the best one for her. She is currently trying to get adjusted. The staff tries really hard to make it as best as they can. They are very accommodating. We are pleased with them for far. We are paying about $4,200 a month. They were recommended by A Place for Mom and everything seems to be going very good so far.

The care givers are what really sold me on this community. They are just such a caring, loving, and fun group of people. The way they interact with the residents really shows the passion they have for their jobs and how much they really care about the residents here. The food smells really good and my loved one has not complained about it so it must be good. Overall we are happy with Serenity House.

I have recommended it to several people already. I think the small home environment is pretty good.

My mom is being well taken care of. She is happy there. The staff is kind and understanding.

I have no complaints about how things are going for my mother since she made the move into this community. The staff are all wonderful people and I am comfortable with the care they are providing her. I would have to say that is my favorite thing about the facility is the attention they give each resident. She has had no problems with the meals and enjoys participating in the activities with the other residents. Overall we are happy people.

I have nothing but good things to say about this care home. The caregivers are great the food is homemade and tastes good. They do offer some activities. The home is kept clean and I would recommend it.

The transition to this community for my mother has been good. The staff communicate well and are attentive. My mother likes the meals that they offer there are no complaints. She doesn't participate in activities, but she does sit and watch the other people engage in them. It's a clean place with sweet and kind staff.

After we had toured many Assisted Living facilities, we discovered Serenity House through A Place for Mom and immediately decided this was the perfect place for my dad. He is from a small town, would not do well in a 100+ room type place. He is doing very well in their care. He is joining in activities and likes the 7 other people living there. It's easy for him to manage the nice home and they keep him busy and happy.

Mike Z, Sonia and Mindy are first rate and the home in a nice quiet location with pleasant surroundings a very helpful and kind nursing staff. I am pleased to have this quality of care and environment for my Mom, who is 93 and has dementia. Thank you Serenity House!

Moving Mom wasn't the easiest thing to do. Choosing Serenity House made it easier even though I wouldn't recommend going to visit within the first week because your loved one will probably be a bit disoriented from the change. Within the first month things got better for my Mom and she is now doing very well. She fits in and loves the residents and they love her! I would absolutely recommend!
