Juniper Communities

With the care services - the physical and occupational therapy that was paid extra by our family was excellent, they were great. However the care provided by the community was the opposite. We had pulled our loved one our early due to being sent to the hospital twice and on the second trip the hospital told us to find a different option for our loved one - that spoke volumes to us since our loved one pretty much digressed upon move in. With the meals our loved one had issues with constipation - they weren't the healthiest and did not have a good variety.

Terrible food. Poorly run shuttle service. More helpful staff.

They aren't very forthcoming with their information. When a patient falls, or a medication is changed, family is not notified in a timely manner. I've found out information through the pharmacy that is used about a medication change, and other things through family members.

We , with a loved one in memory care, have been extremely disappointed with management, total lack of communication throughout the facility, no periodic team care-planning meetings in which we were supposed to participate as promised by marketing, except when requested by our advocate, other marketing misinformation - glaringly and most importantly a caregiver to resident ratio of 1:6 - never witnessed that. as explained prior to placement, Physician's Assistant (we've NEVER met the facility doctor though promised we'd meet within a week following placement)and except for a very few caregivers who have devoted a lifetime to providing care and a few exceptionally skilled new hires, caregiving is far below satisfactory for our loved one. When you telephone the main "switchboard" the recorded message glitters. In reality Juniper Village South does sadly NOT measure up in terms of Memory Care for our loved one. There is much guilt in our decision to place him here.

The concept was great with limited spacing. The residents have pods. The tvs were small and very little interaction between the residents. The staff weren't interacting with the staff during the tour.

My loved one was here and we did not have a very good experience. The food was horrible, the rooms were very tiny, and it was very expensive for what you got.

The staff turnover is very bad, there were a couple that was very nice, I would not recommend this community to others.

There idea of putting two one bedrooms together to make a two bedroom apartment was not appealing. Staff was not ready for us. Curb appearance reminds me of the old style nursing home

The MAIN personal care unit seemed lovely. Nice, pretty, comfortable facility. Friendly staff in both main and memory unit. Drawbacks are with the memory unit: Not a pleasant aesthetic. Residents were just sitting in chairs head down to chest, No stimulation or interaction w/memory care residents when we visited. No dedicated outside space for just memory unit.

I toured here while looking for living options for my wife. Overall, I was not very impressed. It was difficult to get an interview, and when I was able to, the manager controlled everything about our conversation. I really didn’t appreciate the felling of the community either. It wasn’t as comforting as I would have liked, and we ultimately chose a community elsewhere.

My mother was here for a couple of weeks for skilled nursing care after breaking a hip. I found 95% of the staff to be indifferent and somewhat unfriendly. The OT/PT providers were nice, yet not sure if they're just contracted by the facility. The dining area is too small and hard to navigate, especially for folks in a wheelchair. I was told the facility would launder my mother's clothes. After more than a week, I just took them home to clean. The trash was rarely taken out, floors were filthy in her room.

We have selected a two star rating for Juniper Village (Louisville, Colorado) Our experience was disappointing and saddening.The management demonstrated poor judgment, lack of empathy, and poor communication .Our experience's with the nurses and CNA's varied to both extremes. Some of the floor-staff were truly exceptional. Many employee's demonstrated skill, compassion, and a sense of awareness. The management is ill-equipped for the job and depends entirely on their staff. We are entirely committed to the well-being of our ailing family member. We strive for the best quality of life during this decline. Juniper Village is a place to perish, not to thrive. We have relocated and our loved one will be provided the high quality and deserved end-of-life experience.

My mother was in there for a week. She was miserable and crying all the time. My niece said her ankles were swollen [removed]. We took her out of the facility and have a caregiver now. [removed]. They keep sending bills. She was only there for a week and they overcharged us. I would not recommend the Emeritus at Paramus. [removed] I did not have a good experience here.

My Father is not satisfied with this community and will be leaving. Therapies have not met his expectations. Meals ave not been satisfactory. Room rug stained.doorway has tripping hazard.

Depressing, smelled bad, and out of date.

THE STAFF [AIDS] WHO DO 95% OF THE CARING FOR RESIDENTS ALSO INCLUDING [MED AIDS] HAVE BEEN REDUCED IN QUANTITY WHICH REFLECTS POOR SERVICE AND MOST INPORTANT EMERGENSIES PROBLEM..WE RESIDENTS ARE HERE 7 DAYS A WEEK WE EXPECT 7 DAYS A WEEK SERVICE..ON WEEKENDS THE STAFF IS REDUCED FURTHER THAN THE WEEK DAYS WHAT COMPANY GOES INTO THIS BUSNESS WITH 5 DAYS A WEEK MENTALITY THIS PROBLEM IS MORE SEVERE WITH SUDDEN INCREASE IN POPULATION WITHIN THE LAST 3 WEEKS THE INCREASE IN RESIDENTS IS ABOUT 15 AND THEY ARE IN POOR HEALTH NEEDING SPECIAL CARE WHICH THEY CANNOT RECEIVE.. THE STAFF HAS NOT BEEN INCREASED ALSO NOT QUALIFIED TO PROVIDE THE HELP.... ]A FEW BELONG IN A NURSING HOME AND SOME IN MEMORY CARE..I AM GOING TO SEND THIS TO THE CORPORATE OFFICE ALSO...WE ARE HERE 7 DAYS A WEEEK NOT 5 DAYS AS A HONEST BUSINESS MAN I WOULD NOT OPERATE THIS BUSINESS WHICH EMERITUS THINKS DIFFERENTLY..THATS WHY THEY LOST THE CALIF. CASE AND THEY DIDN;T LEARN ...WHEN I CAME HERE 17 MONTHS AGO IT WAS DIFFERENT 5 OF THE TOP MANAGERS HAVE BEEN DISMISSED REPLACED BY.LESSER QUALIFIED PEOPLE THE BOOKKEEPER IS NOW THE DIRECTOR OF THIS SITE .THE MEMORY CARE NURSEIN CHARGE REPLACED BY AAST.SALES PERSON...

We didn't have a great experience here. They didn't like the food here, they have so much chicken it's ridiculous. They didn't get the care that they thought they should be getting.

We looked at this place when we were searching for independent living. There is a large buy-in fee when you move in that will allow you to move on to the assisted living portion when necessary, but assisted living portion looked very bad. The independent living portion looked beautiful, but the assisted living is NOT somewhere I would want my loved ones to live.

This place has gone down hill since new manangment took over about 3 years ago. All they care about is money . It’s a shame because you would really enjoy coming to this place and now it’s makes you sick to your stomach how people really are. The aides are horrible. You always see them sitting around more than working and asking anyone questions nobody has answers . The activities is horrible over in the dementia building . I never see the person working with the elderly and they looked desperately bored and it’s a shame . Not a good place to take your loved one .
