Nice facility, can get apartment with divide wall btwn bedroom and living room. Has a kitchenette. This is more in line with what mom is asking for. a little more per month Also might need to change some doctors transportation available would take to and from dr. labs and rehab in house. A bit on the want ownership side for negative.

This place looks great - I worry that they don't have a locked memory care area

Overall our experience with Harbour Assisted Living was a good one! It's a nice looking, clean community, and the staff were all very friendly and professional. They did a good job handling my loved one's end of life care. It was a good environment, and the integrated the hospice service we had in very well.

They do a pretty good job. They keep it clean, and the staff is friendly. The activities could offer a little more variety, and they could happen a little more often. Mom likes the food, that would be a five. We chose it for the overall atmosphere.

I moved my mom from another facility that was not meeting her needs. My mom moved into Memory Care here and she was loved there, which meant the world to me. While she was there, the facility lost the memory care director and there was a noticeable loss of activities and a certain amount of chaos that followed (which leads to my fewer-stars reviews above) but even WITH all that, she was loved and cared for well. My mom passed away there, and in her last days many of her caregivers came in on their OWN time to see how she was doing and to say goodbye. As with any place, you have to ask questions and follow up on things, but Emeritus was a great gift to us.

My mother has been here since Sept,2011. They will only continue with here if she goes into Memory Care We can't afford them now.

They're doing a great job. Most of the staff are really friendly. They could use a little more variety and frequency of activities, in the dementia area they don't have someone that just specifically does activities. The activities could use some help. The food has been good and the laundry is good. Overall I am happy with Emeritus, the only thing I would say is that they could use a little more specialized training for those that work with the dementia residents. The director Ann is so dedicated, and works so hard, but she is mostly just for the independent and assisted side.

Unfortunately my loved one was only here a short time, but I feel like overall Juniper Village gave us a good experience while she was there. It was a nice looking community, and the staff all seemed very friendly. They're worth a look if you are searching for senior care for a loved one.

I visited this community for my mother. I really loved the community property and they had plenty of parking. I am EMT and has been in this field for 20 – 25 years. I have seen many communities over time, so my awareness is very sharp. I looked at both a single room and a shared room for mom. The shared room was the best choice in my opinion. My mother is very social and the size of the room is much bigger. The amentias at Emeritus are quite amazing, I was very impressed with their care services. On the day I visited I saw a word activity in session and could see how the person hosting this mind exercise made everyone feel included. My overall impression was this place is a wonderful place to retire. I never saw anyone left alone, the staff seemed very friendly and the residence looked happy!

We are really happy. The place is clean and the staff is friendly. They are quick to respond to concerns and requests. They have so many activities, flower arranging, she made a dish. It's lovely. My mom is not someone who usually participates, but she has been here. I think she is liking the food. I would really like to give a shout out to Barbara Farrington with A Place For Mom, she was wonderful in helping us to find this place.

Friendly staff, good range of residents, decent size rooms. Single story.

Some days on the food is a four and some days it’s a 2. I’m there pretty much every day. There is an outside area for residents. The staff is very friendly and I don’t have any complaints about their service. The community is a good value for the money.

We've used this place for both assisted living, and later memory care, Overall I think they do a good job with both care types. They're very attentive and hands on, and whenever I visit it's very reassuring to see how often they'll check in on her. One thing I'd say they could improve in both the assisted living and memory care sections would be to have activities more frequently, they seem a little lacking, currently.

I'd give them a three for the food. The thing we have had the most frustration with, is understanding what the different care levels offer and knowing what is supposed to happen and making sure they do happen. They had a memory care unit which was a big factor in our decision, that and location.

She had been there for 6/7 years. I found it a bit chilly, the people were certainly approachable but I found it very formal as a place. I would have had to pay privately for an aide 24 hours, and that was one of the reasons that I didn't keep her there. Plus, I wanted her closer to me. I think one of the things that really annoyed me was that the director did not tell me that there was any possibility for Medicaid even after my mother had paid privately for years. I was told by someone in the healthcare industry that that was wrong, and that I could have talked to Medicaid. That seemed really unfair.

The staff here are all very friendly, and Bonnie, the contact person, in particular is fabulous. She's a really warm person, and very easy to talk to. All the staff seem caring, and willing to accommodate the needs of their residents. I feel like the food could use a bit of work, the best Dad ever has to say about it is that it is "okay". I've also heard complaints that they can seem a bit understaffed during off hours.

The staff was wonderful from the first phone call. They were very frank and honest when asked questions about their limitations. When asked for specific examples of a possible reason that would require mom to be moved once again to another facility, they were able to give me specific examples. This was very improtant and helpfull in my decision making. Mom has only been there three weeks, but her transition has been smooth so far. She is doing well there so far. Very happy with my decision.

It's hard to find a place for a loved one, even worse when you have limited time to do it. Our mom had worsening dementia. The staff was excellent to ease our minds and make the entry process as easy as possible. They were very understanding and were willing to work with the family that had extenuating circumstances. Our mom was there a few months. The rooms are spacious in the general assisted living area. The fees were better here than most other assisted living places. Reasonable. The building is old, but kept clean. They could update the décor, but I am sure rates would increase then. I was mostly impressed with the loving staff that I felt treated my mom as well as their own mom given similar circumstances. From the house keeping crew to the LPN's, all were very attentive, caring, and nice people. The activities team were innovative, and they had a theme displayed all the time to make it fun. I would recommend if you are looking and have a budget you should give DSL a look. Consider the care and attention your loved one needs, and sometimes you don't know and it's a guess or trial and error. Drop in unexpectedly to see how things are. None of these places are perfect, but you want to feel good about your decision and that your loved one is safe and well cared for.
