We love it there. I think she is getting better care.

We love it there. I think she is getting better care. It's a nice place. It's clean and everyone is friendly. They have been very accommodating with us. She doesn't complain at all here now. She likes the food, and we have eaten with her and we think it's pretty good too. It's a little more than the last place, but I find that it's worth it.

This was one of our top two when we were looking around. It was very close to me, and I liked the location. We didn't really care for the way the pricing was set up, there would have been extra charges for some of the things we would need. We were on the waiting list here, but there wasn't any availability when we needed it.

Making a tough job easier for find a home for my sister.

Contacting A place for mom saved me a lot of researching and just plain time and running around. I called on Monday morning and had 4 places set up for me to start visiting on Tuesday. I could have not done this on my own so quickly. Also it was categorizes for me, exam Personal Care or Memory care, and the area in which we preferred to find a place. I'm not sure, being brand new at this I knew the difference. But Natalie at A Place for Mom knew exactly where to look and saved me lots of investigating on my own. Yes, A Place for Mom was a tremendous help!

I think it's kind of a nice place.

I think it's kind of a nice place and it's a little far to travel for me, but she liked it and, she picked it, so that's what we did. It's very, very clean, any piece of dirt or anything and they are right there trying to clean it up. There are a couple of people that really aren't that friendly, they don't seem to smile as much, or be as talkative as some of the others, but most of everybody else is very nice, all of the people there know everybody by name, they are a pretty close knit group. They have four or five levels of care and separate each one by about a hundred dollars. They frown on anyone doing their own medication and want you to go through them. Housekeeping is done once a week and they launder the sheets on the bed and towels and wash cloths, but personal laundry, you have to pay or have someone do it or do it yourself. The medication management is close to being on time but sometimes they aren't always on time. There's quite a bit of activities, over Christmas they had childrens dance troups and singing carols, and someone in the library reading today, they take them out on shopping trips and things. Some of the people bake cookies for meals on wheels. My mom chose it because it was less expensive.

We were very happy with the service my loved one received here, and would have kept her there if cost hadn't been an issue. They have a robust staff and are able to handle all different levels of care, and have full time RNs on staff. As a larger facility they have a very good variety of activities as well. It's very expensive, but they provide a good level of high quality care.

Friendly

Our experience with The Woods at Cedar Run has been good. The people there are friendly. The primary reason we chose The Woods is they are close by and they offered more care services than the other four or five facilities we looked at. I rated lower on "value" because all the places we saw were expensive. Our loved ones seem to like the activities here as well.

Our experience

As with all places, including the hospital and Pine View where we were prior to Chestnut Ridge, the full-time staff is generally very good while the weekend part-timers need to be constantly monitored. The food was acceptable to the good side but delivery to the room was seriously lacking. Timing was completely unpredictable which made accomplishing all of other breathing treatments and physical therapy daily rituals extremely challenging. The ancillary services really couldn't be utilized by us given [name removed] immobility and 24/7 oxygen requirements. They met my minimum needs regarding bathroom assistance for the 16 hours I wasn't present. The management staff was excellent in their responsiveness to my complaints although follow through to the staff level needs better follow up. It's definitely not the best place for an extremely severe COPD patient like my wife although I don't know if a place out there exists. She wasn't able to participate in any of the activities and the two rooms we were in were totally acceptable.

Queenstown Landing.

My spouse is currently in memory care. First let me say that this is a beautiful facility inside and out. Sometimes the parking lot can be full but you can always find a place to park so this is a very minor problem. Entering the building is always easy as someone will always let you in immediately. It’s beautiful in the main room and always looks spotless. The main staff are always friendly and courteous. Since my spouse is in memory care I can only comment on my observations on this part of the facility. My hat goes off to all who work in memory care because as we know this can be some of the hardest and thankless work there is. Dealing with Dementia patients can be some of the most challenging and frustrating work there is so thanks to all the caregivers who undertake this difficult job. From me being there many times now, there are a few things I have observed. Sometimes during mealtimes the caregivers could use more help as it can get overwhelming at times. Thanks

A warm, friendly experience.....

Nursing Staff and Aides very attentive. They do not use Agency. It certainly makes a difference. Her room is bright and spacious with a large bay window. Her bathroom is large and has shelves for towels and accessories. Two large closets which are very spacious. A nice size refrigerator to hold numerous items. She is very happy there.

finally the care he deserves

Most of the staff (in the secured memory care unit) were well trained in dementia and and were quite compassionate. Their communication with the family was outstanding. My father's needs were not only met, but he was afforded a dignity and respect I have found nowhere else. (We went through 3 different facilities before being blessed with the opportunity to have our father finally treated as well as he could be. Kudos to the staff. I took off .25 score due to management. The management, while good at organizing and logistics, we're of almost no help when needed for special circumstances. Had to leave over 10 messages for the director before I received a follow up for a meeting. When we met, he never offered to even shake my hand. I've never made such a significant negotiation in my life without a handshake. Poor form. Overall excellent experience.

Outstanding Caregiver: Conarae Hopkins (Brittany)

My husband has been at Queenstown Landing since December of 2025 and entered Memory Care in January 2026. I’d like to give a shout out to Conarae Hopkins [Name Removed]. I visit every day and obviously I see a lot! She’s not only has a strong work ethic, but she’s highly skilled at everything she does. She clearly has an excellent understanding of Alzheimer’s and knows how to interact with residents. Her approach is gentle and caring. She’s able to calm residents and put them at ease. She never stops moving. If a resident gets up, she’ll jump up to walk with them. She goes above and beyond. When I was away for 2 weeks, she helped my husband call me each day. She even brought her iPad in so we could FaceTime. I could go on and on! I hope Queenstown is aware of how amazing she is!

The Woods At Cedar Run

I liked the care my father received when he was still able to get around, however, when he was moved to another level of care, (more expensive)I felt they didn't give as much care, don't get me wrong, there were aides that really cared for the patients, but there were aides, that I feel could care less about the patients, other then cold meals and infrequent care, the woods at cedar run is good for elderly people that can care for themselves, not for people who need constant care, I was able to be there 3 days a week and if not for that, I don't feel my father would have lasted as long as he did.
