Evaluate Your Options Carefully

The community is grossly understaffed. There are some residents that have respiratory colds and others that have COVID currently. The community has shut down the dining room due to these concerns. The resident's meals are now being delivered to the residents in their rooms. There have been times the meals have had to be changed due to the community not receiving their truck on time. There have been times that my loved one has had to wait a long time to respond to my loved one's call button request. The community found out that my loved one's call button on the necklace wasn't working properly. There have been times that maintenance has taken a long time to response to the maintenance requests by our loved one and family. This is due to the maintenance team being pulled into the kitchen to make the food for the residents. Another family member reached out to the corporate office and we haven't heard back from them. The staff and administration is very nice and try very hard. I feel their hands our tied. The staff the community has, and that we have encountered have apologized for their slow response time.

My grandfather was a resident here. Upon his passing his room was left unlocked by staff. Unfortunately items were taken from his room. Im told by [name removed] the administrator that they cannot access the camera footage and neither can corporate. THEY ARE PROVIDING A FALSE SENSE OF SECURITY

Not a great Senior Facility

I had a love one moving this year when the facility was American House. The communication is terrible. There is very little communication between administration,medical team and house keeping with the resident. The change that has been made due to sold of American House Southfield to Park House has cause the rating of this property to go from 75% to 10%. I would not put my love one in this facility if they need assistance. This senior residence living is for senior who are able to get around and take of themselves.

Not happy

We brought our father to this facility for assistance in helping him manage his day to day needs. He was soon transfered over to the memory unit where he was left in his room all day with very little contact from the staff. Staffing is very inadequate for a lock down unit. We were told if they were to give him a shower it would be an additional $400 per month. They also stated they would have to charge $600 more each month to lay out his clothes each morning and get him for daily meals. When we pulled our father out of there they were charging him over $5,000.00. The nursing staff seemed very young and at times uncaring. When we walked in every day the patients would be lined up in front of the TV with no one around at times. Staffing at night was even worse for both units - assisted living and the memory units. We have pulled our father out of this facility. I would not recommend this facility especially if your loved one needs to be monitored 24/7. The only one that seemed to care about my father on a daily basis was [name removed] from house keeping, go figure. Some houses are beautiful on the outside, but terrible on the inside. It is my opinion that a young LPN does not have enough experience or qualifications to be placed in charge of a facility of this nature. Either my sister or I were at the facility at least once every day during the eight months that our father was a resident. This is just my own personal opinion of what I observed while my father was a resident at this facility.

Don't do it

The management is horrible!!! Don't send your loved one to live here!! They are under staffed horridly!! ...please run!...they treat the staff with no respect!! Residents are so disrespectful!!! The food is horrible ...CNAs have to help the kitchen staff serve the food . Laundry is never done right . They don't have the staff !!!!!!!!

They have made poor staffing choices

We were very happy with our mother's care at Moraine Ridge until there were several staffing changes. Now there has been a large drop in quality of the food, and the interaction with the management has been awful in an attempt to address this issue. We are in the process of choosing an alternative facility.

Terrible

They can't keep staff all the good ones seem to leave. Some staff is rude and it takes a while for call lights to be answered (sometimes 15 minutes and there will be workers just sitting in the office leaving just one running around) They are always short staffed and honestly they care more about money then they do residents. The food is ok. Prices are ridiculous. It always seems they expect (most the time 2) the caregivers to do everything. They are very unorganized.
