Stay away....Had my parents there for a little over a year. I visited my parents from New Zealand. I was told I was not allowed to sit with my aging parents (in their 80's with dementia) at meal times even though I wasn't going to eat any of the food. So I had to sit in the lobby and watch my poor mom eat her food from a distance. The food is lousy. Residents have to wait 30 mins at lunch before the food is given to them. I did my parents laundry. I wasn't allowed to use the washer and dryer on my parent's floor between 8am and 4pm. I watched an old, physically frail woman try to get back to her room after a meal in her wheelchair....saw the staff just stand there...they didn't offer help at all. I asked the manager to print off an email I wanted to send my dad. The manager replied...."we don't usually take these requests." My physically frail, 86 year-old dad needed help with his toilet. They told him he could grab a plunger from them and sort it out. Stay away

They are miss leading on things. You have to read carefully the contract. I was a terrible experience a waste of money we already moved my father out.

My mom recently moved out of Vic Park, and unfortunately her experience there was very negative. There was a persistent sewage smell, which made the environment uncomfortable, and management did not seem responsive to concerns. She has since relocated to another retirement home, and the difference has been night and day. Her new residence is clean, well-managed, and provides a much more positive living environment. Based on our experience, Vic Park was very disappointing.

Location good looks good tenants great but afraid to make complaints housekeeping very poor here 10 months supposedly weekly have only gotten 10 of 44 and pay in monthly rent dinning room poor quality and quantity pay in rent transportation months without driver included in rent maintenance repairs poor and not timely in fixing false fire alarms very poor management and staff is at minimum and overworked making them unhappy. Let me know if you need anything else from me but I would not recommend this place to anyone

I helped a friend move into this facility and was shocked at the condition of the apartment. It was absolutely disgusting, there was pee all over the toilet seat, every surface was dirty or dusty, the shower was gross, it hadn't been vacuumed, dirty hand prints on the walls and doors, flies/beetles/spiders in every corner of every room.. bad repair jobs throughout the apartment and some things just left broken. I could not believe it. The doors are supposed to be locked at night since the facility isn't staffed past 730PM, but you can get in the front doors at any hour. Food portions are very small, especially at dinner considering the kitchen isn't open 24/7 like other facilities and residents have to make it til breakfast the next morning. This may seem like a cheaper option, but if you factor in the extra cost of housekeeping which is included in the rent at other facilities, it is not cheaper, just lower quality. Shame on this place for not taking better care of their residents!

I had a very disappointing experience with this community while helping my sister, and I feel it’s important to share our concerns with others considering this place. There appear to be serious issues with transparency in contracts, including what felt like a bait-and-switch situation. The quality of services and overall maintenance has been poor, and there doesn’t seem to be a reliable maintenance team in place. Administration changes frequently, which creates inconsistency and confusion for residents and families. The food quality is also lacking, with many meals appearing overly processed. Additionally, important senior safety features, such as emergency call buttons, are either insufficient or unexpectedly included as extra charges within the rent. Costs are quite high—ranging from [Amounts removed] per month—despite limited amenities like the absence of full kitchens (only small, bar-sized refrigerators are provided). Despite these high fees, there is little assistance offered to seniors or individuals with disabilities. There were also concerns about accounting practices and unexpected rent increases with very little notice. Long-term tenants have reported similar frustrations, including being asked to contribute cash tips for staff during the holidays, which felt inappropriate. Communication with management and ownership has been extremely difficult, with little to no response to concerns or complaints. Overall, I would not recommend this facility based on our experience.

I would have to say 1 on all of the above. #1 They promise you everything and give you nothing. #2 They say they have room cleaning. They vacuumethe middle of the room and slosh out the toilet. No dusting, no other cleaning. We have lived here 10 months, they have never dusted, never cleaned the shower once! I am not blaming that on the cleaners. They also work in the kitchen. They are probably in my room for 5!! minutes #3 I don't really know what that means. If it is referring to the staff, the managerial staff, not much interaction. The younger workers are really nice!...#4 no care at all. There are people here who don't need to be here. One lady here had on the same clothes for 3 days. I mentioned it to the lady at the desk. I said she needs help. The lady at the desk went to her room and told her that people were complaining that she smelled bad. The lady was in tears!...#5 a 1 definitely!! ....#6 the food is a joke here. Same thing over and over. It's a joke her mealtime is SURPRISE!! Sometimes they run out of the main meal after they serve just a few tables. The food is never consistent!! In a nut shell, the food here is terrible. We have chicken probably 4 days a week.... #7 the activities here are terrible. If you like bingo this is the place for you. They play some kind of horse racing. We have one group that comes 1 time a month and sings. That's about it!!.... #8...Absolutely too much for what we get. The building is old and they put a bandage on a serious situation. The elevator was down for 3 weeks. Since I'm in a wheelchair, I, as well as many others were stuck in our room all that time!! I would not recommend this place to anyone!!

My apartment was not cleaned or painted prior to occupancy. It was completely INFESTED WITH ROACHES FROM HUGE TO JUST HATCHED. The bathroom faux wood vinyl is ripped, scuffed and the sealant edges retain water which gets moldy. The toilet was not secured to the floor nor was the seat screwed onto the toilet. The heavy wooden rolling closet doors fall off the track if you attempt to use them. ! My windows are welded shut which I believe is a fire code violation. They do not have screens so I have NO ACCESS to fresh air which I enjoy. I've asked them 4 times and am handed the same bs of, 'they're on order!!' Their food is beyond, so far past, disgusting!!The housekeeping is a joke. They just take filth from one apartment to the other. They are NIT allowed in my apartment...EVER!! The art & activities Manager & the front desk manager run this place. Housekeeping personnel work the apartments then lunch & dinner doubling as waitstaff for crumby pay!! They are ill mannered...rightfully so...and they take it out on the residents paying $[removed] to $[removed]/month!! For roughly $[removed]+/day this hell hole should not have your food being slung across the table!! Or, have it screamed at you...'you want ice cream, cake, pie. The food is abysmal but, it's kind of like prison...eat or starve...so, we eat. I'm from the generation of cleaning your plate. I don't subscribe to that theory but most residents comply...never complaining or requesting warmed Quiche vs stone cold!!!

Churchill Manor, and Atria in General, pulled a bait and switch on my father and our family. Their tour prior to deciding on a place for my dad to live showed everything as being amazing and then after he moved in, the falsehoods in their sales pitch started to show and things continued to go downhill. Issues ranged from being told that the Manor bus ran wide hours and could be used for medical and recreational trips whereas the reality was that the bus hours were being further and further restricted when the bus was running at all and was only for medical appointments to food selection and quality failing expectations spectacularly and their "Anytime Cafe" that was sold as always being stocked and having a good selection often running empty and having only very few options even when stocked. The rent increases increases were also predatory for a clientele on fixed incomes with my dad witnessing multiple other residents pushed out because they couldn't afford the double digit increase.

Well we paid for 3 months and only stayed for 1 month. Food was so bad I could not eat it. Staff was very nice. But with my dialysis and diabetes their food was terrible. Was not good for blood work. This cost me a lot of money. My husband also has issues with the place.

I could confidently give Echo Ridge a 0, but since that is impossible, 1 on categories 1-8. No management or help was in the building after 7:30 pm during the 2 months I lived there. The hallways were dirty and the common areas received little attention. The outside of the building looks promising, but the fact is the facility is poorly managed. I cannot recommend it. I was charged a "Community Fee" of $[removed] when I rented the apartment, and no art of that was returned to me when I moved. There was a Halloween party, but activities were few. The food was just not up to par. Cafeteria grade, and nutrition was not a factor in deciding daily menus. To top it off, I contacted COVID while there. I was glad to find another place to live.

My mom never got an new move in orientation and was not given the necklace to call for help. She fell 3 days after moving in, broke her wrist and had to scoot on her back to her cell phone to call 911. We moved her out 2 weeks later.

That place is so [profanity removed]! It's disgusting, cockroaches, dirty stained carpets, mildew, mold, the staff are the most unfriendly people that I've ever met. A truly horrible experience having to reside there.

Review of Long Lake Château – A Disheartening and Hurtful Experience Our experience with Long Lake Château has been deeply upsetting and disappointing. My aunt, who is living with Alzheimer’s, was accepted into this independent living facility—a decision we hoped would bring her safety and support. Unfortunately, the opposite has been true. At the time of her admission, there were no long-term care homes available, and my aunt was placed on a waitlist for more appropriate medical support. Long Lake Château accepted her knowing her condition was precarious and that she required more assistance than a typical resident. We trusted they were up to the task. That trust was misplaced. While in their care, my aunt contracted lice. Instead of approaching the situation with compassion and understanding, the facility charged her an outrageous $[removed] in cleaning fees—a devastating cost for someone on a fixed pension income. They then repeatedly tried to withdraw these funds, causing over $[removed]

Food got worse as time went on. Bus didn't run half the time. Director and maintenance lead serving tables. Safety issues. Structural issues

It seems the managers at this property will do and say anything to get you to sign a contract. Awful. We asked them multiple times if they accepted Medicaid and they in fact do not and we have been struggling to recoup our money

I would never recommend Montara Meadows to anyone. I have moved in with my niece last weekend! The place is not equipped to care for the people they accept. The food is terrible and the activities they provide are a joke! They also do not care about the people who live there! I would rate my overall experience as a 1 as the place is not clean and is in need of repair There is no quality of care because it is independent living. Food and activities are lacking and it is not a good value for a seniors income. As you can see I have nothing good to say about the place. It was a bad experience all around for me and there are many people leaving for the same reasons I did! No I definitely would not recommend this community to other families!

It was a terrible experience so I would love to spare others from the terrible experiences we had at Holiday Rock Creek. The majority of the staff including the Administrator quit. Within the first 1 to 2 weeks after the hiring their replacements that staff was going to quit all together. They called an immediate lunch time meeting with a catered lunch. I'm not sure what became of that meeting. Can only guess. Some rooms are a little larger but you will pay more. Any thing you are told will be included will never be included unless it is in writing and has a guarantee date it will be completed. All promised cleaning needs to be in writing. They will not vacuum unless you ask and are there to see it getting done. If you want extra of any food item it will only be available IF there is extra. If you sit at the end of the dining room, you may not received the featured item. OJ is only available for breakfast.

Very high staff turnover, only one elevator for the whole building that breaks down frequently, and cold food. Plus they are raising their prices, but are unable to provide the basic promised services. My parent has missed doctor's appointments because they can't get to the first floor. They were recently without internet for a few days, and no one seemed to care. It's hard to find a manager on site when you have concerns. It's not only not worth the cost, but I believe there are safety issues.

Poorly maintained to put it mildly, with peeling paint (in the unit I occupied) to say nothing of the filthy carpeting throughout the building. I was told when I moved in that the entire building (which hasn’t been updated in 30 years or more) would be updated and modernized “this spring,” then “this fall,” then “sometime in 2025”—so if you tour and they tell you this, don’t believe it. Structural problems so bad that every resident on the first floor of the west wing is being forced to relocate to other units so that support beams can be replaced—and who will be forced to pay a > $[removed] fee to move back to their units. Very poor-quality food rich in calories, carbohydrates, cholesterol & sodium, but very low in fruits, vegetables, protein & variety. With but *one* notable exception, all-woke staff who very definitely do not treat the residents as employers to be served who pay their salaries. My 11 months there were pure, unadulterated misery & I couldn’t be happier to be out.
