Zero stars-horrible visit. My appointment was confirmed and I arrived 15 minutes early only to find an empty reception area. While I waited in the reception area, I heard two very loud voices coming from an upper floor and based upon the conversation they were staff members. After waiting another 10 minutes, I went to another floor where I found two staff members. Neither employee asked if I needed help, so I introduced myself and told them the purpose of my visit. The assistant manager than jumped up from her chair and introduced herself. She apologized and told me that she was not aware of my scheduled visit; however, she proceeded to try to help me. I was shown two apartments but not the entire complex. In one hallway there was debris on the floor. When I commented about the mess, the assistant indicated that she didn’t know why it was there. No attempts were made at that time to ensure that the debris was removed. I was given a brochure about the community but no other information. I asked a couple of questions, but left feeling that I had wasted my time. The assistant apologized several times. After the appointment, I received a call from the general manager asking how I enjoyed my visit. I gave her an honest answer and she assured me that she would address the problem with the assistant manager. It appears the assistant didn’t check the schedule and that’s why she wasn’t aware of my visit. The GM asked if she could personally show me the facility and I politely declined. Everything always works out for the best... I had a good opportunity to see how the facility operated when senior management is not around. So to everyone who is looking for a place for mom- drop by the facility unannounced to see how it really operates.

A bit outdated and there was a resident needing help but no one seemed to be available.

Terrible!! No matter what they promised they didn’t deliver. I went 5 days without food. It took 1 ½ hours for each meal. No movies, no bingo, no library. Only bright spot was the bus driver. They paid me $50 cash to keep me quiet. Calaroga is the opposite. They provide everything that makes this is a home. Always going the extra mile. I have tried to participate in all of the activities. Too many. Great staff!!

I moved into this community from an independent apartment because I felt that I would have more protection. But, we were only given a device to wear in case of emergency. They have no one on site nighttime. The meals are not the daily gourmet meals promised and are in great part junk food. Consequently I had to buy my own kitchen appliances to prepare healthy and substantial meals. So-called activities are low level brain games such as tug of war and bingo. They have no intellectually stimulating activities so I have had to create my own activities for myself and others. I would not recommend this community and will be leaving very soon. Most residents feel trapped having been persuaded into committing to a rental Rate Lock clause. Management policies and menus are the same in the Holiday Touch 300 nationwide locations so complaining to the local management is pointless.

My mother moved from Copley Place to Brookdale Montrose down the road and what a difference in experiences. Not that Copley was bad, it was okay for what we paid. We just didn't realize how much better it could be. The food needs a lot of work at Copley and the Customer Service too.

We did not have a good experience here. The pricing wasn't made clear to us that this community was not run by the Veterans Administration and would not help out with the cost. It was not explained clearly to us that along with the room rent there were additional charges on top of it such as food delivery to his room, medication management, etc. The place is a dump, in my opinion, I have nothing positive to say about this experience.

Some of the staff aren't very friendly and don't talk appropriately to the people that live there. There aren't very many activities carried out even though they're on the schedule. The food has went downhill drastically. Beautiful place if it were ran right

My mother lived at this community for 9 years. Recently they have changed management, and everything has gone down hill from there. They do not care about the appearance of the community. The chef left, and the meals are now horrible. I had to move my mother out of this community. I would not recommend this community to anybody.

CHEAP MEALS AND THE MANAGER NEEDS TO RETIRE. THEY FLEECE THE RESIDENTS BY SERVING CHICKEN AND FISH OR PORK EVERYDAY. THE CEO IS ONLY INTERESTED IN PROFIT TO MAKE THE SHAREHOLDERS HAPPY AND SHE CAN ENJOY HER HIGH SALARY. THERE NEEDS TO BE MORE LEGISLATION IN LAWS TO PROTECT SENIORS BUT SADLY THERE'S NOT AND THEY CAN DO WHAT THEY WANT.

I did not like this community at all. The layout was weird and more like a retirement home than an assisted living community. It wasn't very clean. The whole place was outdated and could use a renovation.

While the residents themselves are pretty friendly, management is another story. The new assistant manager (as of 11/16) is pretty good - visible, helpful, engaged. The manager is a [Removed]. He generally hides out at his (back) desk in the office and generally acts like he doesn't like people or his job. Most anyone could do the job the activities director does. Basically, she puts out a calendar that doesn't vary at all from week to week or month to month. It has been the same forever. Afternoon activities, which never vary, begin at 1:45, Listed activities are shown week after week, even if nobody shows up for them. Clearly a case of someone putting in her time, but not too worried about whether or not she is being effective for her clientele. Care services, which are contracted separately, are adequate. My mom chose this facility based solely on location. We should have vetoed it. We visited other facilities (owned by the same company) that had engaged, caring management, and proactive and responsive activities director. We simply screwed up by choosing Vista de la Montana.

We feel the food quality and the length of time it takes to get served is disappointing. We have heard the same comment from several residents.

we were advised that this was an Assisted Living Facility when in fact it is a retirement community. My mother signed a contract before we were advised of this and now we cannot get them to answer us either by e-mail or by telephone. She has never taken up occupancy due to the fact that what she needs is assisted living and not living on her own. she is 91 years old and scared to death to be alone.

My loved one never got to go to Burlington Gardens, but they still got their money. They seemed wonderful at the beginning, and very accommodating. However the rehabilitation center strongly recommended assisted living, and we realized this was no longer going to be a viable option for us. They insisted it would be a good fit and that I could hire the extra care, which would have added up to be quite expensive. He was quite rude and wouldn't even take the advice of several doctors, so we ended up paying for a month that we never used.

This is really not a safe place for the elderly. There is a very mean bully on the premises who is [removed] to women and handicapped men. The manager, Edwin Hubert won’t do anything about it: he says there is nothing he can do; or he reported it. Whatever, he does nothing is done to rectify the situation. As hard as this is to fathom he advised me to run when confronted by the man.! To show that I am not just a bad sport go through the dining room at meal time. And ask the other residents and they will verify what I said. You can also call Ed at [removed] and listen to excuses as to why he won’t help us.

Not only does this company raise the rent by a percentage rate on the anniversary of the person (parent) that moved in, but they tell you one thing and do another. They went through 3 different managers in less then 2 yrs of my mom being there. When my mom was in need of assisted living and had to move out of their independent living facility, I gave them proper 30 day notice of her moving out YET they tried to charge me an extra month following that 30 days. Also during the last 30 days where as my mom was absent due to medical reasons, I was told that she would receive a refund portion of her rent paid for the meals she missed. After not finding a credit to her account regarding this issue two months later, I've called and emailed this company over and over again with NO response. Finally, after being very persistent yesterday to actually talk with someone in billing I find out that they have a SYSTEM on how they figure out on what they OWE you and it came to a grand total of $50 for the month! ARE YOU JOKING ME?

Horrific experience. .management is cold.

We have not had a good experience with Crescent Heights at all. To start things off the sales guy we worked with made all sorts of promises that did not end up panning out, told us about specials that would lower the rate, etc. so that when it got time to sign the papers the cost was much higher than we were lead to believe. There have also been a lot of issues with the facility being very understaffed. They were supposed to assign him a guide for the first few weeks to help him settle in to the community, which was not done. The meal service is also VERY slow, it takes them 2 hours to serve lunch, and they can't even manage to get the coffee out in the morning until 9am. They've had some management staff walk out on them, and often when I call to try and get ahold of someone I am talking to a temp who will only be there a day or two. Until they get a whole lot of things straightened out I cannot recommend this community at all.
