I have no complaints about the tour I had of this community. The staff where on time to our appointment and made sure to give us lots of helpful information as well as answer any questions we had for them. I would recommend this place to anyone interested. It was just not the right fit for my wife and I in the end decision.

It is going as expected and we happy with them. My dad is a resident at this community. He is participating in the activities that are planned. The meals are good. His room is get cleaned often. I would recommend them to family and friends.

My impression of Thornton place, based on what I saw and of testimonies from friends, is that this facility is nice. It is very clean and the staff seemed friendly. In the end, it did not suit my family's needs as far as location and care, but this is still a nice facility!

After reviewing a few residences, I chose The Court of Barrhaven for my first two weeks of convalescence after total hip replacement surgery. The one-bedroom apartment was a perfect size for me. It gave plenty of space to walk around with my walker. The bathroom was also a good size for the walker and bonus there was a walk-in shower. The closets were plentiful, the tv screen was a good size, the cable access was great, the refrigerator kept my fruit, and the freezer was well able to keep all my ice packs frozen. Lots of cushions to help sitting or to prop up the feet or knees. I would recommend that the armchairs be higher which is critical in my recovery and that the mattress be at least medium firm because a lot of time is spent sitting and lying down. It would have also been great to have wifi access. I did not rate activities because I was not able to access them in these two weeks of care.

We were pleased to find a nice apartment at Kingsdale and found the staff very caring and helpful. It will be great to downsize and move into something which suits our age group and will be easier to take care of rather than our house. We are looking forward to getting moved in since our house is up for sale at the moment. Looking forward to all the activities and side trips as well. Our family are pleased that their parents will be well looked after too. Looking forward to it very soon.

So far, my parents' stay at The Chateau has been pretty good! With the exception of a few maintenance issues, the facility looks very clean. The meals that my parents receive are very nice, but they have less of a variety, and the mealtimes are a bit strict. Overall, my parents are having a nice stay!

Our initial impression was terrific!! Mom really clicked with the staff and the residents. The facility is very open and easy to traverse. Ann is very friendly and kind in her presentation of the property. I must say that once mom moved in, the things that were promised at the time of securing the lease, were not followed through. Mom was without her security tag for several days. There was no walkthrough as promised. Several items were missed. Although these items were missed and frustrations ensued, mom is very happy at the facility. It is very clean, and offers a lot for a senior in retirement.

I really was impressed during my visit of this community with how the staff was involved and interacted with the residents. They also offered my loved one and I a chance to try one of there meals to make sure my mother would like it. The bedrooms where clean and seemed to be well maintained which was a positive thing to see. Overall great experience just did not end up being the right for my mother.

I had been under the impression from management when I first moved into Westmont, that there would be outings to places of interest, plays, shows, etc. As of now, these have not been on the agenda, to my great disappointment. Other activities such as card games, exercise classes, bocce ball games, etc. are enjoyable. I am aware that providing nutritious food and cooking for a great number of people with numerous tastes and diets is a daunting task. Still, I think that meals provided are neither plentiful nor of the best quality. Most are much too salty for good health, particularly for seniors who have ailments restricting sodium intake. Also, with the exception of breakfast, there is little or no variety in selection. Meals have been a major disappointment for me and many others. I must compliment all employees for their friendliness and hard work. They appear to be doing double duty and handling it well.

We did like this community and the staff seemed to be knowledgeable and helpful. We liked that we saw some of the residents out and interacting with each other. There was really nothing wrong with the place except that the location was not what we wanted.

I really like the apartment that my aunt was able to get at this community, its spacious with a patio door to the outside so she has easy access with her dogs and is able to get some fresh air. The staff has done an overall good job with my aunt I just wish they would help a little more than they do. She has not participated much in the activities but seems to have made a few friends that she really likes.

The only thing I have a problem with is I moved in on a Sunday, was given my keys, and told I could move in That was the only contact I had with the staff. No move in handbook or formal information at all. No one has been by to check if I got moved in okay or to say welcome. Now don't misunderstand, I have made the best of It, gone to meals and met many nice residents. I am very satisfied and will enjoy living here.

My mother is renting a one bedroom unit. She has plenty of space and storage and her furniture fit nicely. She is able to control her own heat/air conditioner. She has been there for a month and a half and I feel she has finally found her comfort zone. Her one complaint is that it takes 1.5 hours for each meal to be served which she considers too long. She feels they do not have enough help. The food is usually pretty good. Although I realize this is an independent living facility, I feel they could have been a bit more welcoming when she first moved in. She is starting to partake in the activities which is important because she is a social person. Overall her family is happy with her new home.

They seem to be a little short staffed. The caregivers there are attentive and helpful. They offer daily activities. The community is clean and well maintained. The food is eatable. The marketing director we met in the beginning was great. They gave us lots of information and answered our questions.

The staff was very welcoming to my loved one and I during our tour of this community. They made sure to take there time and show us everything there facility had to offer as well as answer and questions I had for them. There was nothing wrong with the complex, I just did not decided to go with this location for personal reasons

My parents are finding their new home very comfortable and are becoming acclimated to their new city having left their birthplace of Edmonton to join our family in Calgary. The staff are very friendly and helpful. My parents are just beginning to partake of keep fit but are enjoying it. Pam the shuttlebus driver makes them feel very comfortable and their trips together have gone very well. They enjoy the meals although it can still be a little trying for Mom as she is Celiac and we understood that would not be an issue but she sometimes still has trouble finding what she can eat. We notice there are notes as to two other diets on the menu and perhaps another Note for Celiac could be included.

Lovely place and it has been good for Mildred BUT: What is going on in the dinning room. She has not gone for several meals because she says she sits there for an hour before they even take the orders! We were there today and it was 1;30 and she still had not had her lunch. She is paying for those meals. We do hope this will return to the excellent finning experience she had when she first moved in.

The community feels comfortable. The food is the reason for the lower rating. They do not offer a large variety and it can take upwards of an hour to receive your food. The community is clean. The staff are considerate and treat the residents with respect. Mom loves the nightly bingo and the various outings available. I would recommend this community.

I am happy overall with the facility but somehow just does not meet some of my needs. I suffer from Insomnia and don't get to bed sometimes til 3:00AM or so and to have to get up early for breakfast and a specified lunch tie is hard for me since I have to sleep in sometimes. I also find that I miss the choice to be able to prepare my own meals when I don't feel like eating what is served. Staff are great and helpful and I made some wonderful friends!

Very friendly staff and residents very welcoming. Clean common areas. Fast response to maintenance requests. Good value. Management mingles with the residents and gets to know them. They strive to keep same staff with each resident so they build a relationship and residents feel comfortable with the people who enter their apartments to clean etc. we researched many communities and would not have mom live just anywhere. Here she can be as active as she likes as they have many , many activities and are open to suggestions. Very happy!
