I've eaten there several times and the food is good. They don't eat there at night because they offer desert and bread at every meal. I wish they would have a little more in the way of options for low calorie, or special diets. It seemed a little more relaxed and homey, than the other one we were looking at. They have a recumbent bike, that they like to use, which is nice.

Rock Creek was a very nice place for my mother. They are very kind and considerate. The live in managers are caring and listen well to the residents. There are many and varied activities available. Apartments are cleaned regularly, linens are provided. The dining room is very pleasant and friendly. There are ambassador residents that make the newcomers feel welcome and make sure they have companions during meals.

I'm SO excited about the possibilities here :) This community has the look and feel of what I had in mind to help her really enjoy this stage of her life :) I am ESPECIALLY impressed by the ability of her staying for 90 days to 'test drive' and make sure she is happy here! This gives her authority and I believe that will help her feel better about the transition she is going to go through! What a GREAT idea! I certainly hope this place looks as good in person because I am in love with it!

My mother was a resident at Durham Regent in August, 2013. She fell and had to be admitted to the Durham Rehab Center on Roxboro Road. She only stayed @ the Regent for 12 days. However, we were very pleased and she was happy. She stayed @ the Rehab Center for 40 days and we were concerned that she would have to be admitted to a Skilled Nursing Center. She did well and stayed Ne.ver thought she would live independent again. After the bleed near her brain was drained on 9/12/2013 She became much better. During November, 2013 the family decided she could live independent. I went back to the Durham Regent and again was pleased with the facility. She moved in during the first week in December, 2013. And again has done well considering everything she sent thro. Short term memory is affected a bit as is her balance. Long story short, we are pleased. My ONLY problem is it seems some of the residents are not truly independent and have to rely a little too much on caregivers. The physical part, walkers, etc does not bother me too much, but it does seem to me that (I don't really know how to describe this). are not mentally alert enough to be in a truly "independent facility I am completing this survey for my mother. .

Very nice. Mom liked the pictures on the walls in hallways. It has everything she needs. Phil & Cheral where great. Need ti find out if they have wi-fi there. Best part is Moms church is already sending a bus on Sunday Mornings, and Phil & Cheral are going to become members of the same church. That is a real pluse.

The first impression: The people there were smiling real smiles. The environment was warm and well lit. Wow there is a way to lock in the current rate for the duration of his stay. The space is comfortable. The meals are flavorful.

i WAS REALLY IMPRESSED WITH iLLAHEE Hills. I had the opportunity to try their noon meal on Jan 8th-My mom's birthday; and it was delicous. This community has alot to offer my mom. The managers are very helpful and friendly to my mom too. The residents are very nice too.

A wonderful place with great amenities. The people we spoke with loved living there. However, it is an Independent Living facility with no movement into different levels when needed. It also does not accept medicaid which will need to be an option for us.

I can not stay enough good things about Summerfield Estates. Everyone at Summerfield, from sales manager Rick Bauer, the managers, events coordinator, housekeeping, etc. have all been wonderful. My mother has been treated like a queen! Two weeks after moving in, Mom fell while walking her dog. She needed several stitches in her forehead and fractured her wrist. She was transported to the ER within minutes of her fall and the staff literally waited on her hand and foot while she healed. The meals are generous portions and are very tasty. Mom loves the choices that are provided each and every day. I would highly recommend Summerfield Estates.

It's been very good. I like it. The food would be the only thing that could be improved. Sometimes the food is overcooked. It was the most reasonable.

So far it's great. She doesn't use any of the personal care. My mother loves the staff. She seems to be ok with the food, she is a fussy, healthy eater, but if she doesn't like, she can order off the menu. There were two key things that we were chasing, obviously a price point of course as she is on a fixed income, and they had a price lock for life, and the closeness to family. This has met all of our needs.

I was looking for a place for my mom. The Staff here was awesome. Very nice place. Moved her in. She has been there 2 weeks and loves it!

I can't say enough about them. These are terrific people too: They Care. This is a stationary cruise ship. Prices are reasonable. She is a very difficult person and I would not have had the patience they had. They check in with us. The food is good. The chef even came out to meet us. They have things to do there. She finds fault with perfect, but she can't find anything wrong here. The rooms are excellent, they're a good size. Everyone I met there went out of their way and continued to do so. The place is in a lovely area. The bottom line is, they have set the benchmark for how senior living should be, and I am a very critical person. It's just a blessing. without that life would be miserable for her and for everyone else around her. Most of the places are really ambivilent and really don't care and this place does. They have wide hallways, it's bright, and decorated, like an upscale hotel. They have movies twice a day there's always something going on. If you are not being entertained that is your own issue they have activities all day from morning to night. This is a trophy operation. If there is one complaint it's that they run the heat to high. It's inviting they have 25-30 rocking chairs on the covered porch. This is a gold star operation and people should have no fear working with them, even with the money situation, they work with you. Everyone was just warm and friendly and genuine. The director and another staff member are nurses but they don't have medical staff this is a 911 operation if there is an emergency. The room is about 350 sq ft the bathroom is huge they don't have a tub, a shower is safer for seniors, and its large with a bench and pull cords for emergencies. She wasn't happy with the padding under the carpet because she shuffles, and so they changed the carpet. Individual heating and air conditioning in each room. You don't feel claustrophobic. On each of the four corners of each floor they have a sitting area with bathrooms. You always get a person on the phone when you call. I can't say enough about them!

The tour with Rick Bauer was excellent. We were looking for a place for my mother, who was living in Florida. Rick arranged for a weekend visit and Mom absolutely loved Summerfield. This past weekend I flew to Florida and drove a Uhaul truck back to Shreveport with all of her belongings. Everyone at Summerfield is very friendly and helpful. My mother was very excited to be moving into such a loving and caring environment.

My mother is very happy at Rock Creek Retirement Community. The staff is very helpful and kind. She is so pleased to have some one clean her apartment and comments frequently about how nice the staff is. My aunt may move here too.

I was at a loss on what to do, how to compare, what the cost would be and ensuring that my Dad was in a place that I would be proud of but more important where he would be happy, healthy, safe and have fun. Kittery Estates met with me and listened carefully to what my Dad's needs were. They showed me around the property and helped me to see how my Dad would fit in and be able to do the things that he loves as well as maybe try something new. They were very kind, knowledgeable and compassionate. They truly understand what a difficult process it is to help a loved one understand that they need a little assistance. My Dad is very happy. He especially loves the food! Thank you SO much!

Very nice. This is an independent living community though, not assisted living.

She is doing better all the time. She is adjusting. I have someone come in to help her. It is not a nursing home, so they don't have any medical staff. My sister-in-law has her own apartment. They do activities, but she doesn't participate. The food is very good! All home cooked food. There are three floors and it is quite large. They people were so friendly and really helpful; for instance, she is in a wheelchair and the floors were all carpeted, and they actually took all the carpeting out and put in linoleum. The installed a new shower that would fit her wheelchair. They went out of their way to accommodate her and that was just great.

If you are looking for a safe, caring independent senior living apartment for your mom or dad, then Niagara Village is a wonderful option. From the first tour to after your parent moves in, you will notice that the entire staff is caring and accommodating. They offer delicious home cooked meals served in a beautiful dinning room setting by a friendly staff. I highly recommend Niagara Village.

With the choices available in the Eugene area, this is an excellent facility if one does not need full assistance. Facility itself is very pleasant and well kept. The assistance of weekly housekeeping and 3 prepared meals a day (coffee/snack bar open all day) is perfect for my Father. I also appreciate that there is an emergency pull-cord system in the apartments for my peace of mind. Walking through the facility it's very pleasant to see the "ladies" decorate their doors and entrances....very homey. Also, I have to chuckle when I am there during a meal time as there are a line of "walkers" lined up against a wall. There is an air of "activity" and staff are very attentive. Perfect for my widowed father. If more assistance is needed as time goes by, an option is to hire an "in home" care person. Keeps the cost down and my father independent for as long as possible. Activity bus available for errands/shopping...and special trips/events are scheduled. Grounds also very nice w/ a sidewalk path for strolling and a gazebo for chatting. Front entrance of facility doubles as a "front porch" w/ rockers and chairs for folks to sit and visit. Highly recommended!
