The food at Columbia Cottage was great. Care was good. It was a very well managed place. It was exceptional.The layout of the community was good. The staff are very friendly, they care about their job and they care about the people that are there at Columbia Cottage.

I went on a tour here and the staff was nice and helpful. They answered all of my questions. Mom and dad was going to be here and they would've put two rooms together for them. This place was a bigger community. It was nice and clean.

There were a lot of people sitting around in wheelchairs. It was nice and clean. I would tell families to tour several places so you can compare.

My loved one has really made himself comfortable in his new living environment. The staff have all been wonderful and attentive to his needs. He did mention that there could be some improvement on the food that they prepare everyday. There is not enough flavor in the meats and the dinners could use some fresh fruit and vegetables. Overall I have been pleased with the services they have been provided my father and have no complaints.

It has really been very pleasant overall. My mother has been very happy there - much more than she has been at other places. We did just have a situation with getting some of her prescriptions filled. There was a lack of diligence and follow-up to where it took much longer than it should have to get her prescriptions filled. Overall though it has been a very good experience and I expect once we get this one little kink worked out it'll be smooth sailing.

We have had a very positive experience with Country Cottage. On the first day they were extraordinary. The transition to dementia assisted living was very difficult for my Father...Consequently, it was also hard on us. The professional staff went above and beyond to make him feel at home and to comfort us. While the staff has always been available to answer questions and concerns (especially in the first weeks), it would nice if could proactively communicate with us regarding Dad's status or forthcoming billing changes. I know this would be difficult as each resident's situation is unique; however, it might be worth considering as it would give families a clearer understanding of where they might be able to provide additional, day-to-day, assist.

My loved one has only been here a short time, but so far I think Country Cottage has done a good job. The people here are friendly and professional, and do a great job looking out for the residents. He feels well treated and respected, and seems to have settled in well. My only issue so far has been that he is not enjoying the food, and I have seen other reviews online saying that the food here could use work. However, I will say that they've been talking with him about the sorts of things he likes to eat, so they are actively working to improve!

I would recommend Country Cottage in Decatur, AL for anyone in the Decatur area looking for a comfortable and cozy home for loved ones that need an assisted living facility. My Mother had lived at Country Cottage for the past 19 months and was loved and taken care of by their caring staff. The staff kept me informed about my Mother's involvement in activities as well as health issues. Mother enjoyed the activities and the food. Unfortunately her dementia progressed to her needing a memory care facility and has recently moved. If your family member needs an assisted living facility in the Decatur area, please check out Country Cottage for their new home.

This has been a very positive experience for us. We've found the staff easy to work with and helpful and the care has been excellent.

I was very impressed with the kind, caring personnel at Country Cottage. Each staff member took time to listen to my questions and provide good information. I also noticed that they spoke to any resident they saw, calling them by name and asking about them personally. The facility was extremely clean and nicely decorated - very comfortable. I feel good about moving my Mom to Country Cottage and know she will enjoy her new friends and home very much.

Very Clean; Friendly Staff with me & the residents; Each room has accessible full baths; Pull cord for emergencies near bed & in bath; Secured building and outdoors; Field trips planned such as fishing & swimming pool; Cost based on size of room & level of care needed starting at $2,000 which includes everything except cable & phone extra. Will furnish transportation to doctor Tues. & Wed. included in cost. Other days have a fee. Will refill medication and dispense as instructed. Will do laundry. Stay is per month only. Can move out with 30 day notice. Has 27 rooms. Cost $500 to be put on waiting list which is applied to the cost of room. Can accept or reject when the room becomes available.

No place is perfect, nor is there a perfect being on this earth. Visitation is very important and feedback is most important when you are not satisfied with something that you notice. Again, Visitation is vital, even if your love ones dont recognize you. Their well being is what's most important.

I would recommend....the girls are doing good with my sister & she can be hard to deal with sometimes.

This was a very short stay. Did not actually get the chance to interact on a daily basis.

There are several staff members who are truly wonderful and very caring. However, the building where my loved one resides appears to be somewhat short-staffed, and it seems that an additional team member would make a big difference. Some staff appear to be working extra hours and covering multiple roles, which can make it challenging for them to respond quickly when several residents need help at the same time. Meals could also be improved-portions are on the smaller side, and dinner often consists of lighter options such as sandwiches. I make sure there is some additional food available in the room, though not all residents have that flexibility. On a positive note, the staff have shown great patience and kindness in helping with the adjustment to assisted living, and the facility is consistently kept clean and well-maintained throughout the day.

Suggestions--- 1) Movement/Exercise opportunities for residents. 2) Pizza and Old movie in common area 3) encourage to drink more water/liquids Like the open communication with director and head nurse/aid

If they would clean the rooms a little better and more often it would be really close to a 5. The staff all seem pretty happy and are always friendly. They also seem to be genuinely caring. The food is good, at least what I have sampled and seen. I would recommend it.

The facility is alike a large home with a home like feel. Residents have there own private room with private bath. There are 3 meals a day with other food and snacks available. They also have access to a large covered patio. The building is secured electronically. I appreciate that there is not a lot of turnover with the staff at The Cottages in Corinth and the caregivers are very attentive to the residents needs. A NP is available should the need arise. The directors are always available if any questions it concerns arise.
