My father who has advanced dementia was promised level 4 care. Because of lack of training, and horrible communication between the care-givers and management my dad suffered continuous thirst and hunger. He needed to be fed (as provided by the level 4 care that we were paying for) but food was brought to his room and put out of his reach, with no one to help him eat. The two months that he lived there he lost a considerable amount of weight. Medication administration is not well controlled. Our family took over medication administration to save my father from missing his medications. I would not recommend The Harbors for anyone with dementia.

Missed meds. Long waits for lift assist, just waited 1.5 hrs. Father sliding out of wheel chair. Short staffed according to staff, but is good according to director... Inappropriate foods given with dietary restrictions often. Facility smells like pee.

I feel that the watermark does deliver what it advertises . I feel that patients rights are being violated, they fail to communicate with the family. The residents linen are. It washed weekly as promised, leaky shower stalls ( safety hazard). Management is never available to speak. I also do not understand how a LPN has so much power over patient care. Many staff members are untrained and lack the support of the administration. I am not satisfied with drugs being added to my fathers regimen without the family being aware of it. My father has been on only a few outings. However, I did no appreciate it when they took him out I. Pajamas and slippers like a vagabond. Much of his care is dependent on my sibling. On more tha one care the agency which looks over facilities had to go out and set up a meeting in order for measures were taken to protect the patient. Management was in denial until pictures contradicted their statement, it’s hard to refute hard evidence, I do not belie result they provided 6,250.00 of care was delivered and unnecessary purchase were made to exhaust his funds sooner. It also did not help do put a nurses lounge across from his room,. This institution needs a lot of work if they to keep their doors open.
