Greenlake Senior Living Communities

I was very pleased with what my loved one and I saw during our tour of this community. All of the residents seemed to be enjoying themselves and where involved with many activities throughout the building. They where very affordable but just didn't have all of the amenities my aunt would have like to have included.

The food is great at Stratford At Maple Leaf. There is plenty of entertainment there to choose from. The value is pretty good compared to some other places. Overall everything is going really well at this facility.

So far we are pleased with out experience at Chenoweth House! It is a nice looking, clean place and the staff have all been very helpful and professional. My loved one says everyone here is very friendly, and that they are taking good care of her!

I felt that they are not fully equipped to handle patients with dementia. I was concerned but I am very particular. It may work for other people but I feel like my loved one needs more supervision. The only 2 issues I had was that I didn't like the way they do laundry. I wasn't too pleased about that. My other issue was that I had to see if they were giving my loved one his medications correctly. The value, friendliness, and activities were great though.

It's an overwhelming thing to move, and downsizing has been difficult. Overall things are going okay, things are pretty clean, and the staff seem to be friendly, and caring. There really haven't been any issues worth mentioning.

Karen Colangelo is amazing. She is very knowledgeable and based upon her presentation my Dad would be in good hands at Stratford. I had placed Stratford at the top of my list after seeing the first 3 Assisted Living facilities. The facility was very clean and professional looking. After seeing 6 different Assisted Living facilities, my Dad indicated that he wanted a nice garden area to be able to walk in when he felt inclined to go outside. He loves to read and play his concertina and at The Summit where he currently resides they have a beautiful atrium with views of Union Lake. Dad planted a tree in that atrium in memory of my Mom. Unfortunately, Stratford lacks that beautiful view and the outdoor courtyard is rather stark. The activities on-going at Stratford did not appear as engaging to me, as what we saw at Ballard and Ida Culver Broadview, but that may have been the result of the time of the day that we went on a tour. The price point for a one bedroom apartment would have been ideal for us, allowing plenty of room financially for added services. I ranked this facility a close second, but I want to emphasize that Karen Colangelo is terrific. Should we need to select a fine assisted living facility at a little lower price point, The Stratford would be our choice.

Just wish the neighborhood were more walkable. Otherwise this is a grat place. Very friendly and suitable for our fairly young Family member.

It's very good. We don't have any complaints or concerns. Stratford at Maple Leaf is just a very good place.

Viewed the facility. I like it, but I don't like that mom would have to share a room with someone else. But we have to deal with the money that we have. If mom had made better decisions with her money then we wouldn't be in this predicament now.

Royal Columbian was our second choice. The staff here were as friendly as could be, but the residents did not look as happy as some other places we visited. The facility itself needed some updates/TLC.

Mom is here in the assisted living side It seems to be nice and clean. They have an issue with chronically being short staffed. Which then leads to longer wait times after the call button is pushed. And sometimes she has to wait over an hour to get food. She gets 3 good meals a day. She will enjoy the daily activities sometimes. I would recommend to others.

The people I met at this community were nice. The community looked clean. This community offers daily activities and allows pets.

My mother in law was not there at Olympic Alzheimer's Residence very long before they had to transfer her out. She was only there for about ten days. During that time the experience was ok. Not great, but not bad. Some of their care services could improve. Also, some of the staff can be a little more forthright and helpful.

The staff was all really very, very friendly. We were only there for 10 days because we had to move my mom closer to us, but during that time they were really great to us and I wouldn't change a thing.

A person dealing dealing with dementia should never be told that they don’t have to give them their medicine because they came back late from an outing w/ family. We never had a meeting because it was cancelled by them to discuss things and if that was how it was to be done, it should be discussed w/ family not being rude to the senior. Also, lack of compassion towards seniors when they tell them they can’t have their animal anymore. The other concern is how long it takes to get help when help call is triggered. There are definite concerns.

I think most facilities are having a hard time with finding people to work. Lots of turnover. I feel like as family that you really need to be hands on and available more with your loved one. It's hard but necessary if you want to make sure they are doing well.

They are very kind people. The food is not that great. A little understaffed, but very nice people.

The price was reasonable, but the facility was bigger with about 60 residents, we were looking for something more small and intimate. The community did not seem as active and the staff were not as involved as another place we were looking at. Our loved one would have also had to share a room here and we were looking for a private room.

Make sure to stay in touch with your loved one and make sure to pop in unannounced and see how they are doing. Communication with the community needs a lot of work. The staff could be more friendly and the response is not very good. Make sure you check all the options in the area.
