They help in any way they can - the care is very good. The things that I like are they are very helpful. They are able to get additional support like hospice for my father through medicare and medicaid at little to no additional cost to my dad. They have small plays that people come in and put on and they do bingo and church services. They also have availability for hair cuts. They have the capability of transitioning straight to medicaid when dad's funds run out. They have 8 rooms that are double occupancy so that gets the cost low enough that medicaid with take care of it. That is something that is definitely a light at the end of the tunnel. Nothing is cheap anymore but where they are and what they do and the smallness of the facility are all pluses.

The facility itself just stood out. I liked the people there, their memory or life station. They have fairly large grounds that are well-kept. All of the staff were very helpful and very nice. I think their costs were comparable with other communities in the area. They have a medical staff on site 5 out of 5 for the quality of their care. They've got a wide range of activities there.

Chambrel is a lovely facility, however, we felt a smaller one would be better for my mother.

A lot of what helped us decide to move my parents to Vernon Woods came when we compared the cost of a 24/7 sitter or nurse versus the cost of a retirement community. The cost of in home care and other communities in Lagrange was a lot higher than the $4500 a month Vernon Woods costs. When you look at factors like mortgage, food, and in home care the costs add up so this was the best alternative to in home care. Also Vernon Woods is only 15 minutes away from my parents' doctors. My parents already knew about 7 or 8 residents at Vernon Woods. Everybody raves about the food. My dad has even complained that he is never hungry because there is so much good food to eat. They offer a pretty good variety of entrees, the menu is not a "one size fits all", residents and guests can choose from 2 or 3 meal options, so they get a choice which I like. I only scored them lower on activities because I haven't seen much going on when I visit, but that may be because it is the summertime and families visit more often.

This was my father's favorite. Large spacious dinning room with large picture windows to watch the birds and other wildlife. It was easy to navigate and the staff was incredible.

We do not consider the Sterling House a nursing home - it is an assisted living community. They have nice rooms for residents, no hospital beds or anything like that. I marked them down in cleanliness just because the carpet throughout looks dingy, it is in need of a steam clean or being replaced. But other than that the facility is very clean and my mom's place is cleaned by the staff. She has acclimated pretty well. This is the first place we looked at and my mom was overwhelmed that she could afford to stay at such a beautiful place with a selection of amenities. We didn't need to look anywhere else. The Sterling house gives you the most for your money. So far everything has been good, I have not heard any negatives from mom yet.

Fantastic facility. It suites every need and taste of my mother. The independent living is more where she is at right now, and they provide that beautifully.

Looks like this is the place. Mom fell in love with the spacious one bedroom apartment the director showed us. So much so that she gave her a deposit to hold the apartment. Thank you!

I liked this also. Cheerful surroundings,rooms sm but nice & lg closet space. nrsg,pt/ot,etc available here as well. Residents out & about & seem cotent. Have retained some of staff for yrs. Very knowledgeable & helpful...a great assest to this place!

Ideal place with lots of activities and great setting. Private pay puts it out of reach. There is nobody on staff to assist with financing or VA paperwork.

We just loved the Staff and the environment.

VERY nice. Clean, nice setup, very impressed. Everything on 1 floor. Willing to work with us on price and entry fee. Have a few more to see, but this felt right so we put a deposit to hold the room we liked.

Had a very nice warm and friendly tour, director was very welcoming and friendly. Residents seemed to be active and happy.

Toured many places and all were great, ended up with best fit location for our loved one.

I toured Lighthouse Senior Living and had a nice first impression. I know there isn't much they can do about it; but as you walk down the hall, more odors become apparent than other places we visited. We chose another community because Lighthouse wasn't a good fit, and it's proximity to family was further away than the community we chose.

I had had experience with [name removed] the sales manager from my grandfather at another place that she was at. Also [name removed] the director happened to be my dads friends daughter. It just fell into our laps at a perfect time and I really trusted them since I knew them previously. In our opinion the staff really fell in love with my dad, they were all so caring and loving towards him. We were not here for a long period of time, but for the time that we were here the staff were all consistent. I would most definitely recommend Red Cedar Glen to others looking.

Our tour at Lark Springs was really good. The facility was nice. The staff greeted you quickly. We toured during a time of peak Covid and found the facility to be really clean. We were pleased to see how careful they were about Covid precautions. Their facilities were just farther away from where we live.

This is a great place. The food, staff, and the apartments make it a great place. There is a patio off the apartments with space for plants. It is really nice here. The staff are good to work with with. They are corporative. There are activities for the residents to participate in. The location is good and close to family for me.
