I learned of this facility through this site. It has its ups and downs. They are purposely short staffed, overcrowded, disorganized and not as caring for staff as they advertise. The community areas and dining rooms need regular maintenance. If you can afford better for your loved one, I'd encourage you to look elsewhere.

Emailed me some one else''s appointment email. Tried to make it bether. The 2nd email was worse. Grammar isn't important. Neither is privacy or attention to detail. I wouldn't even go visit in person when she couldn't get the appointment right, and gave out someone else's info. If that's how they are before .....imagine the neglect NY loved one would get.

I was not impressed with my tour of this community. The community was not well maintained. The room they showed was not appealing at all, it could have looked better. During our visit orientation the gentlemen that did the orientation was more like a use car sales man. He asked for a lot of personal information, and we were not comfortable with that.

We toured here when we were looking for options. This was our least favorite. The location wasn't ideal. The rooms were the least best kept of all the places we saw. The window to the room we viewed, overlooks the highway, and was just very noisy. They did have a therapy house there, and the dining looked okay. We did not ultimately choose them.

Disrespecting Our Military Vets

My father is a WWII war vet with Dementia. They claim they are a facility that understands and can handle Dementia Patients. Unfortunately, the current facility leaders have shown my father complete disrespect because they are not equipped to handle his moderate dementia nor are they willing to take the advice of his Doctors who feel that now that he is properly medicated, he can continue to reside in the community with little problems. Alexian Village leadership's answer is to give him 30 days to find a new facility....in essence turning their collective backs on Military Veteran and evicting him because they simply don't want the headache of providing a comfortable environment for him.

Mom loved the Grand at first, but it has started to go down hill, [Name removed] the administrator is good at giving lip service without results. Terrible

What was once a 5-star, beautiful facility with accommodations for independent living, assisted living, and memory care has deteriorated into a 1-star, unsafe, unsanitary, and poorly managed, pest-infested community where seniors are treated with disregard and disrespect by management.

A Not So Good Assisted Living Facility

This place accepted my uncle for residency after confirming all of his paperwork was in order. He moved in during [date removed] then in early September he was evicted? Without any warning Roosevelt (Victory Centre) said he had been evicted for none payment of rent and his belongings were tossed in the trash or taken by the staff? Victory should have taken the rent from his account monthly instead of trying to blame it on non payment of rent. Not a nice place if you care about your loved one. They have a very poor way of communicating at this place.

**Consumer Alert: Serious Concerns at The Grand at Twin Lakes Senior Living**

My 96-year-old mother lived here for years. After a dementia diagnosis and falls, we needed 24/7 memory care they couldn’t provide. I gave 30-day written notice on [date removed]— she was hospitalized Sept 24 and never returned. They charged $[removed] for an empty apartment because a 2-year-old lease addendum required 60 days’ notice, even though her lease expired [date removed]. Dining is a disaster: * Meals delayed up to an hour * Paper plates, plastic forks, to-go bags * Residents on walkers fetch their own soup * Servers wear earbuds, slide desserts like a bar * Menus change last-minute, meals canceled if chef doesn’t show Residents fear complaining — afraid of rent hikes or retaliation. Now at [community removed]: real plates, real food, served on time. Mom says: “Better than that other place.” Avoid The Grand at Twin Lakes. Review your lease with a lawyer.

Horrifying place

This place got new owners in March. Do not send your loved one there. The new owners are cruel and mercenary. Staff are leaving in droves. There were excellent CNAs, but they may not be staying. They don't adhere to payment agreements and neglect the elderly by not giving them medications, stopping services without telling the family and letting them wander as they please. They've had bedbugs, roaches and ants repeatedly the past 8 months. Common garbage areas are nasty and filled with flies. Residents' belongings go missing regularly.

Would not recommend

The care is terrible. They gave a lot of empty promises and as a result my mom's condition has significantly advanced. On their memory care unit the quality of Healthcare was severely lacking i.e. my mom wore a dexcom on arrival to the facility which constantly monitors her blood sugar and the facility refused to reapply every 2 weeks calling it a skill but checked her blood sugar once daily pricking her finger. She fell multiple times in the 6 months she was their resulting in 3 hospital visits. Cafeteria staff were nice but didn't provide a nutritional meal my mom is diabetic. I would NEVER recommend Waterford estates to anyone not even enemies.

On [date removed], my daughter reached out to me, sharing that my brother [name removed] had informed her about our father's fall at Grand Regions Assisted Living Home and his transfer to the hospital. I promptly called them for details. They had already contacted 911, so I swiftly sent my nephew,[name removed], and my husband, [name removed], to the nearest trauma hospital. Sadly, he wasn't there, which prompted me to call 911 myself. I later learned they had chosen Southshore Hospital, which felt unexpected. When my nephew and husband finally arrived, they found my father with significant injuries to the right side of his face, swollen eyes, a gash needing stitches, and multiple fractures. He also had bleeding in the brain and was eventually moved to the University of Chicago Hospital. During our conversation, he recounted an alarming incident where he claimed two nurses had assaulted him, leading to a frightening scene when he regained consciousness. Determined, my nephew and I visited his

I would give a negative number for all. But a few of the staff were nice. The turn over was never ending so difficult to connect with any person you may have been getting to know. Residents felt it was the best they could do for the price. Food was marginal. I gave up on breakfast after a short time. Went to supper only and very often ended up with a sandwich because from experience knew the special would be bad.

I am so discouraged by this whole experience. A lot of promises and communication were there at the front end, but they were not followed through with. My stepfather spent Christmas alone! His daughters are crazy and they are opportunist and trying to get money from him. They took him to the bank and changed all of his accounts and life insurance over to their name. I begged for them to help me at the facility and to interrupt this because he doesn't know what he's doing he's just traumatized from the transition. His adult children that are estranged from him, came into the picture and made promises about getting him out of that facility. We spent years researching before we decided on this facility. We did it with him together. We did the tours. He was excited! My stepdad, which we have always been close with and have handled all of his care for the last 15 years as he aged is completely estranged from us now. He had such a difficult time transitioning and he was losing his mind. I reached out repeatedly and asked for help for someone to talk to him or us to help him transition and it fell on deaf ears. We miss him so much! We miss him at the holidays and the birthdays, and we miss celebrating his life. We completely lost him, and I have Concord to blame! I have literal emails from his daughters telling me that they should've gotten more money when my mom died and bragging about how they're going to get more when their dad dies. Their father intentionally wrote up a will to have them out of it. How is it possible that the elderly are not protected from people that are predators as they age? I reached out to talk to his doctor. I reached out to everyone! No help. They have the nerve to accidentally call me one time to talk about his care and that he is not doing well. Of course he's not doing well. A year ago when I reached out to tell you he's not doing well and I need your help and we could've surrounded him with love and helped them. No one wanted to talk to me. They all made empty promises and drop the ball. He slipped through the cracks. It's disgusting!

Supportive care isn't ideal. I was clear with the expectations & level of care my mom needs when talking with the facility, everything was Yes they do this & that. However, this has not been the case with the nurses or doctor (nurse practitioner). My mother has been there since mid August and has fell over 6xs. The 1st fall resulted in a hospital visit and Staples which they didn't remove. They refuse to put her dexcom 7 on her, I was told that was a skill and they are not a skilled facility. However, pricking her finger 3x a day is better and administering insulin. Are those not skills? The dexcom 7 is changed once every 10-14 days and constantly reads her blood sugar to a small monitor/device the size of an ipod. This would prevent the finger stick and YouTube video shows you how it's not complicated at all. When I call and leave messages b/c I can't get a person they never call back but they call when they want me to sign a care plan or to tell me she fell. It's frustrating!

FOOD IS CRAP

You take our money, and feed the residents crap for dinner. Seniors need nutritious meals. On one occasion the dinner included; macaroni and cheese with cornbread. What kind of meal is that? How would you feel if your parent or loved one lived under those conditions? I saw a display honoring veterans if you really want to honor veterans/seniors, then feed them decent meals. Treat people how you would want someone to treat you. Many already have health conditions give us a good meals. Show more respect. SHAME ON YOU!
