My mom has complained about the food and service in the dining room. Other than that, all is good (cleanliness, friendly, activities, transportation, value). The situation in the dining room has her wanting to find another place. I will say that they have made an effort to improve the dining room situation in the last week.

The caregivers here are wonderful and seem to really care about the residents. The food is abysmal and often cold and bland. I have left messages for the management on several occasions about various issues and not been contacted. This was not the case prior to Sage Desert being purchased and placed under new management (Grace). The entire previous management team either left or were let go. They were fantastic people, the new ones are just doing a job. Feeling like it is all about the money now. If it weren't for the caregivers, we would be looking elsewhere.

Sumter Senior Living is a beautiful community that is conveniently located. It is very very nice right when you walk in, and [name removed] who is in charge of all the activities and decorations does a wonderful job. They celebrated Veteran's Day with their residents and we thought that was just beautiful. However there could be improvements when it comes to the house keeping, and the meals and dining - our loved one says the food is just awful. We do understand there are staffing shortages but we do wish we could see the staff around more frequently.

This was a nice community. It felt a little too small and didn't have the grounds we wanted for our loved one.

We toured with Beach House. There was nothing really negative to note about the tour experience, but they were going through a lot of transitional changes at the time - so I was not as impressed as I was hoping to be.

They have some issues in the kitchen - it is not managed well. Half the time they do not serve what is on the menu. They print out the menu and then they change it without telling anyone and that happens every day. If I order something and they do not have it, I get something else and am not told about it beforehand. If I want a cheeseburger I cannot get it after 6, they shut the grill down early even though they say it is served until 7. We pay a lot of money and have been disappointed in the experience. Communication is a big issue and it needs improvement.

Unfortunately, the food in the dining hall has become quite problematic. There are lots of options but the food is poorly prepared. Fish is overcooked and dry to the point of being inedible. Potatoes and sweet potatoes are undercooked and unpleasantly crunchy. Seasonings seem non-existent. Serving staff in the dining room are also not good these days. They range from brusque (slamming down food without comment) to downright rude. Otherwise, the facilities remain excellent. It's a lovely building, the suites are pleasant, the pool is a great benefit, and so on.

Everyone is friendly. They are somewhat understaffed. Sometimes they have plenty of staff and other times they seem quite busy. On the weekends, there is one nurse/nursing assist, so it's no one to let you in. There is one person handling everything. Mom really likes the place, because they are nice, respectful and she is very comfortable. The cleaning has improved. The most important thing, is they are very understaffed, and there is a constant turnover. In addition, mom has missed hair and nail aptointments, due to not having someone take her or she arrives late and the stylists is backe dup.

We were told all these promised when it came to the medical side of things but all of these promises have not been followed through with. It feels like now that they have our money we are pushing to the side. It is a very frustrating situation.

This was a very dated community. The outside when you drive in was very pretty but when you enter it felt very dark and dated and then it was very expensive. We just did not get that feeling that we were looking for. The tour was nice and they showed us all around the community but it was just not the right fit for my loved one.

This was a bigger community. It felt like a resort and this wouldn't have been a good fit for my loved one. The memory care was a tucked away unit inside the community.

I was not overly impressed with Sedgwick Plaza. The staff did not really stand out to me like they did at another facility. The apartments were on the smaller side and the setting is close to a highway. My loved one has a dog so she really would not have had anywhere to walk the dog. They did have a grand piano which she likes to play. Overall it just did not fit what my loved one was looking for.

The tour at this community was nice but we just knew that this community was not thee right fit for my loved one at the time. They gave me all of the information that I needed and answered all of my questions.

We had a virtual visit at The Shores at Clearlake, and I didn’t particularly like the person who gave the tour. The facility setup was very odd, and I didn't like the rooms. They felt very cramped and old. Also, there were no in-room bathrooms. They were all shared, which was a hard no for us.

We toured Woodhaven Village and the apartments were a little dated. The location is also further away than where my loved one wanted to be at.

To me, Palm Bay didn't feel like a homey atmosphere. The people didn’t seem really caring. They seemed nice enough, but not really genuine.

town village is primarily for much older residents who are in their 80's and up. it's also conducive to individuals with mobility limitations. the food service could be improved, as in the time between sitting down and being served. some of the food dishes could also use some improvement as well. the receptionist and/or concierge at the front desk are very friendly, but could be more helpful at times
