A wonderful place for my mom that offers a new apartment that features a fresh take on all of the things she loved about her old house. She loves going to daily mass, walks around the facility along with plenty of things to do. She is thriving there & we are grateful!

We picked this community because it was one of the suggestions by A Place for Mom...also, some family members had heard good things about it from others. Would definitely recommend to others. The activity director [name removed] is amazing. They do communication well...they inform families by email when key personnel are on vacation and who to contact in their absence...they acknowledge when they are having difficulties filling an open role and what they are doing about it...they inform families about any change in key personnel

My brother [name removed] was a patient at Mount Alverna Village in Parma, OH from early [date removed] until his death on [date removed]. He was diagnosed with vascular dimentia which caused him to be bedridden. I visited 8 assisted living/Nursing Homes before I decided on Mount Alverna. I picked Mount Alverna because it was close to my home, it was non-profit and it was Catholic. I want to thank everyone at Mount Alverna for the care and kindness he received. The journey my brother and I traveled during this time was very difficult but made easier by the patience and understanding that the staff showed my brother. I couldn’t have made a better choice selecting Mount Alverna. I am grateful that my brother was treated with respect and dignity during his final day. Thank you.

Monthly calendars are given to all residents. Many activities are offered from shopping, luncheons, religious opportunities, craft classes, and so much more. Moving here was the best decision I could have made. I've made so many new friends.

Our Independent home at Marian Village provides easy one floor living with two bedrooms and two bathrooms and freedom from home maintenance that becomes increasingly difficult over the age of 75. No more business cards for landscapers, plumbers, repair men. All services are included. Peace of mind in a caring and friendly community.

Overall experience has been pretty positive. I would rate it at a 5. Cleanliness. Rate at a 5. The entire facility is very clean and well taken care of. Maintenance responds quickly and does a good job with repairs. House keeping visits my mom's apartment daily to empty out trash can and weekly to wash bed sheets and clean bathroom. Friendliness of staff. Rate at a 5. Everyone is super friendly and responsive with any questions and concerns I have. They reach out to me and keep me up to date with any changes with my mom. I feel comfortable calling or texting if I have any issues or questions. I feel like the communication is pretty good. Quality of care. Rated at a 5. I picked this place because they do outings and activities with the memory care unit unlike other facilities that cost the same. My mom is high functioning for having dementia/Alzheimer's - so it is very important to me that she not just sit around all day watching TV or whatever. I feel like they offer good activities and do a good job of keeping the residents mobile and stimulated. Activities. As previously stated, this is the highlight of Astral and why I chose it. They do a good job keeping residents active and stimulated. Meals/dinning. I would rate this at a 5. Food is pretty good. They change up the menu and take suggestions. I also like that they don't really restrict the diets too much. Another facility doesn't allow soda at the request of the residents' families, which I find odd. I also like that they let my mom keep a mini fridge in her room so she can have her Pepsi. Value for cost. I feel like we get a little more out of Astral compared to other facilities at a similar price point. And the building is very new so it looks very nice and not as much like a nursing home - which also attracted me to Astral.

Mom passed in Feb. They were so wonderful & worked very well with hospice. She received the best possible care. Dad is very difficult individual with high demands & angry outbursts. They handled him well. Both are negative, difficult, complaining people & they rolled with it. Both parents have dementia but were able to be in assisted living. Dad moved out in April for his own goofy thoughts & reasons without us being a part of it. They were hurt. They cared & bent over backwards for them.

The community is well-known for its cleanliness, and the staff is consistently friendly. The residents seem content and are always open to conversations. They appear to be quite happy with their living environment and the activities available to them. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking.

The staff are all very friendly and courteous. Going off of what my dad says about the food. the portions are not big enough and the dining area is only open for an hour. The elderly need more time to eat.

Food is delicious ??. Lots of change over in staff(I think common anywhere). Wonderful activity director. She works to keep all happy and include families. She has been there a real long time. It's real clean and presents well. Lots of amenities. They shop for folks or take them shopping three days a week and it's free transportation anywhere.

My husband had therapy following a fall. He came home a different person physically. He recently had surgery and is back for more therapy. I am so relieved and thrilled that he has been able to return. The therapy is fantastic. Great, kind and caring staff. We have confidence that he will return with the excellent results he had previously. If you or a loved one needs nursing/therapy care consider St. Joseph.

The caring loving staff you could wish for. Meals catered for needs. Huge value for cost. I highly recommend Astral.

We chose The Village at Mercy Creek based on the fact of it being Franciscan, since my mom is catholic. It has overall been a great experience and I would recommend the facility to those looking for assisted living.

My loved one is currently a resident at Astral at Auburn and the experience has been great for her so far. She doesn't participate in the activities, yet. Everything else has been great. I would recommend this facility to others.

I picked it because staff was awesome and it was close to me. I would recommend it to friends.

Perfect

Everything we have experienced has been wonderful. This community was chosen primarily because it is a Catholic community. But, I must add, there are people who aren't Catholic that live there.

I would definitely recommend the assisted living. Smaller --1st floor residents. The 2nd floor is retired nuns residents. Dining room is shared by both 1st and 2nd floor at different times. They have an onsite chef and a nice variety of food to choose from. Plenty of activities, if they choose to participate. There is a chapel in the same building. For Catholics, it is a perfect location.

Staff is very helpful. If you need anything special ask and they can help or tell you how to get the help you need. In picking a facility, we went with staff that answered all our questions. Cleanliness and location. Also the size of apartment unit and housekeeping(2 x monthly)they do a excellent job about 1 1/2 hours. I would recommend Marian, that's the place that worked the best for what we needed.

All fives. The aides in particular were outstanding! Kind and compassionate day after day ( I was there almost every day) while dealing with an oftentimes difficult patient population. Their kindness was extended to me every day I was there. Having worked in health care for 35 years I was truly impressed by these wonderful women and men who cared for my husband.
