Nice place, overall

Overall our experience with Bradenton Oaks has been a good one. It's a nice looking place, they keep it very clean, and the staff is friendly and professional. We're generally very satisfied with the service.

Worth looking into.

I think Bradenton Oaks is worth looking into. It was affordable for my sister. There's not a lot of activities per say, but they do encourage the residents to come out of their rooms, go to the dining area for meals, there's van service to go to Walmart/shopping. She's a picky eater so she doesn't care for the food much.

This facility has fantastic staff, but their experience with visually handicapped people is apparently limited or lacking training. There is no question but that their hearts are in the right place, but more training is needed from wait staff to housekeeping.

My mom is happy!

So far so good. My mother has only been there a few days, she fell and had to be taken to the local hospital. There was a little confusion over who she was, as the hospital did not read the paperwork sent from Savannah Court, but the ALF did their part. My mother is enjoying the place, the people, and even the food, she has gained weight and is now complaining about her weight! I have visited frequently and the staff is warm, friendly and attentive. I hope it continues.

very good

Our experience with Savannah Court of the Palm Beaches has been very good. They are very nice to my mother, and she is very happy there. There are few little tweaks that could be made which I am working with them on, but all in all they have been really good. I do pay extra for the level of care my mother receives and while they do a great job I am not 100% certain that the extras we pay for are always there. But overall they are really great and I would recommend them.

I got a good feeling about how they fill the needs of their residents. Personalized!! A bit pricey for the room but I believe suitable to fit Dads needs. If he needs help to get to the dining room they can assist or even on occassion bring it to him. They like their residents to get out of their apartments and be social. The room may be upstairs but elevator and assistance is available. Piano entertaining happy hour plus Prespertarian service.

She likes it and they are friendly enough.

She likes it and they are friendly enough. Maybe if they could just listen a little more to how their residents are feeling. She has one of the nicest rooms, with hardwood floors and some nice colors, and it feels like a home. I think the complaints she has now has to do with the fact that she isn't feeling well, and they are trying to push her to do things. It's clean, and she loves her room, and is pretty happy.

Lock Down Memory Care

My mother-in-law got to the point that she needed a lock down facility so we moved her here. They have 24 units of 1 and 2 bedroom apartments and their own dining room and everything. She's got dementia pretty bad and we couldn't take the risk that she would wander off. I only had to complain one time because they were bringing her laundry back and leaving it in the basket and my mother-in-law was just rummaging through it. We got that worked out. I never tell them when I'm coming and I just look and observe what's going on. I think they're doing a good job.

Very Nice Place

My brother lives on the second floor, which is a locked floor, because he wanders. Everyone on the regular floor can come and go so if he was on that floor he would walk right out. The people staying there seem to be very happy. The food is not what my brother might want but it's not bad. If you can afford it, this seems like a very nice place. It is expensive though. The do have entertainment. The other night there was a singer who was very good and it was a nice long show. If you walked into this place and didn't know what it was, you would think is was a very nice hotel.

Highly Recommended

This is one of the best places I could find. This was close to family for our loved one. I like both the Manager of Memory Care and the Executive Director. Music, dancing, painting, and more are available for activities for the residents. The activities are good. This is a good place to live.

This is a bigger community. We did not want a community that was that big and we did not want a community that had two levels. They do offer activities. The staff was very nice and caring. The meals seemed to be appealing and the other residents seem to be happy. Activities are offered to others who want to participate. We highly recommend this community to families for good care

Mother going back home

The staff was very nice, and the environment was lovely, but they were not able to meet the needs of my mother. The activities did not have the mental stimulation that my mother required. She is nearly 98 but felt that there was too much time spent playing childish games (She does not play games, or watch tv.). The recreation person is quite new in the job and has not had enough time to get a better program going. (My mother is very impatient, and I had no choice but to take her back home) I had to intercede to see that she received her bathing assistance, and even then she didn't always. A consult with the visiting psychologist was never scheduled as requested. As a senior who doesn't eat meat or poultry, there wasn't always sufficient choice for her to eat beyond salads and eggs. She has a problem with falling, and the staff was wonderful taking care of her when she had a fall. The lock on her room door was not working, got fixed and broke again. Clearly there are some issues that need to be dealt with, but all in all I still like this facility.

The price is reasonable, and it's a good size, not to big and not to small.

They don't necesarily pay attention to changes in medication. I also would never use their doctor. The price is reasonable, and it's a good size, not to big and not to small. No matter what it's all about the staff, and anywhere you go that is a crapshoot.

Has room for improvement

Based on the experience we have had so far, we would give The Atrium a solid C average. There is definitely room for improvements, I have issues with management and our loved one has some issues as well.

Do not recommend if you need more care

I thought the Director was good as well as the ladies at the front desk. I honestly did not like the nursing staff. It's a nice place if you don't have a lot of issues....but once you start to get some medical issues, it would not be a place I recommend. They also just gave us a big price increase.
