It took a while to get use to assisted living. It is different that independent living, but the staff have worked to make it pleasant. The activities department here has been what I have enjoyed the most.
At Great American Assisted Living Community at Bradenton, we provide a caring, comfortable atmosphere all wound up in an active and secure community. Located underneath the shade of the palm trees in Bradenton, our suburban campus is the perfect place to call home. With quality care provided in a...

Our family had an in person tour and we really did not care for it. It was not very welcoming, it was smaller and just dark and old.

I would tell others that memory care is not at all what they advertise. They really don't have any programs to assist with memory care activities. They don't take the residents outside to enjoy the outdoors. It is not something I would recommend. I would suggest you look around before coming before to the community.

After my loved one passed there were a lot of personal items missing. Things would just end up missing as soon as we bring it. Communication between the staff and the community was not good. There were times when my loved one was sent to the hospital and we were not informed. I would not recommend this community to others.

For anyone looking into Bradenton Oaks, I would want them to know that the tech nurses do not know what they are doing. They were confused about medication for my father and they were 90% of the time unfriendly. A lot of their medicines went out of stock especially on weekends and holidays. The food was awful, everything tasted like it was out of a box and watered down. I would recommend only if you understood the above issues.

This was our lowest-rated of the five comparably priced Assisted Living facilities we visited. This may have been the lowest priced by about $[removed], so it may be the budget-friendly choice, and I can't blame anyone who needs to consider it for those reasons, but if you must be in West Palm at this price, there is at least one other option, so be sure to look around. The seafood bisque was amazing, definitely the best food we were served at any facility overall. But that was the most we could say for this facility. There was no public space except the lobby, from what we could see - residents were just sitting (or open-mouth napping, sitting up) in the lobby. For some who wouldn't use recreational areas or movie theater rooms, it could be fine. We were turned off by the condition of the facility more than anything: the wallpaper was peeling off the walls in the resident hallways and my shoes were sticking to the carpet on the second floor. Stains appeared to go unscrubbed in carpets and on walls. There was also a large broken hole in the wall at the doorway of a staged example apartment we were shown. This did not seem like putting your best foot forward, in any way. There did not appear to be outdoor space. The road in front of the facility was fast and noisy. What we needed was a more vibrant community than what we saw. This is likely a solid choice for loved ones who will be transitioning to skilled nursing in the near future. For those who need some assistance but intend to continue to strive to stay young in mind and body as long as they can, there are more vibrant, newer facilities with lots of amenities in the area at an only slightly higher cost.

This place was very dirty! Floors were awful, grounds not attractive. The Managed Care Neighorhood was better, as they are currently going through a remodel with fresh paint, new furniture, etc. Staff ignored me until I found someone to ask for my appointment, who wasn't there on time. I did like the activities she described, and those who were living there seemed satisfied. However, no longer interested in anywhere outside of Sun City FL.

They are understaffed during the weekend and force patients to sit in the lobby where they are "Watched". Not much attention to the resident is put in the lobby.

There was an entire shake up in the entire place. She wasn't happy there so we moved her. They had a new owner and he was not pleasant in the way that he treated the employees. When we were there it was the Courtyards of Inverrary, and they've changed the name.

There was entertainment in the lobby when we arrived - a woman singing. She was so loud, I had to write our names on a piece of paper for the receptionist. I understand hearing issues with elderly people, but this was ridiculous. Did not find the facility to be clean, and was unimpressed with the tour provided by Wendy in Linda's absence.

My mother was here for a year. If I only knew what I know now. If your loved one has dementia and is living in the "assisted living" section of this facility, don't expect much assistance. She was rarely bathed, she would be in the same clothes for days. Her clothes not washed. The staff does not know how to handle or care for people with dementia. Do yourself a huge favor and find a small facility . There are great ones with 10-14 residents and then your loved one will get the CARE they need!!!!

Colonial assisted living has gotten horrible since they brought in the new head [name removed]. Since then my mother has been overmedicated. Ana had her sign papers so they could control her social security without notifying family. My mother is blind and had no idea what she was signing. I moved her out and now she is thriving.

I unfortunately have to live here. The night staff steals, they stolen clothes, snacks, and whatever else they find desirable. Some of them yell at the residents. They talk badly about residents. I am not satisfied with my stay here or the treatment I receive for staff. I want my money back, I am so not satisfied with my stay here. If you love your family member, do not send them here. Not worth the money

My loved one hasn’t been here for very long and I am already experiencing discrepancies compared to our initial visit. Within the last week and a half, I’ve noticed on 3 out of 5 visits, my loved one was left soiled and smelled of urine and feces, another day they had an unexplained bruise on their arm. I initially expressed that direct care is mandatory as they suffer from Alzheimer’s disease and I was met with guarantee’s and an act of what seemed to be a genuine desire to help during this difficult time. Well, unfortunately the type of care I was promised and feel my loved one deserves has not been provided here after countless conversations. It makes me truly sad that I trusted this company and went against my better judgement by deciding to place them here. I take full responsibility for being naive to a wolf in sheep clothing.

My husband had fallen out of the bed, he had Covid from the facility and had not handled it well. He went to hospital due to this fall. Had not great experiences, he was in dirty bed and there were numerous occasions when he was not checked on so many times. The social worker was really only associate whom assisted me during this time. Staff is not doing there job at all.

I was researching placement of a family member living in the area & I live out of state. Initially Sales was all accommodating, as the move-in date approached details kept changing & answers to questions were vague & evasive. On move-in, the resident was confirmed for secure memory care area, but now was being put into general population! Family caregivers left & resident was combative. Colonial called caregivers in parking lot & were told that resident would not be admitted, take him home. My call to get details & how to correct situation to regain admittance was met with vagueness & empty promises & the DoN refused to talk to me. All calls I placed went to voicemail with no response ever! Resident was never in Colonial's care, yet they were keeping all fees paid some 30 days in advance to secure room, community fees etc. Email refund request was met by email stating "will look into situation", with no response over 30 days out. My continued emails to them were ignored.

Colonial Assisted Living Facility of Miami AKA Hidden Ranches, please do not send your loved one there. They really pull the wool over your eyes. They are not an assisted living facility, they only want individuals who can do for themselves and come and go as they please. The executive Director, [name removed] is a joke. He will put your loved one out and not even make contact with you to explain why and the Head Nurse, [name removed] will run up your loved ones medical bills calling ambulances for things that are not an emergency and billing to proxy care for medications when it is not necessary, because Walgreens handles the prescriptions. They will send your loved one to the hospital at Jackson North for no reason just to get rid of them and then deny your loved one back. They will even send them to the Psychiatric Hospital under false pretenses. They are only in the business of collecting money and they do not engage your loved one like they tell you during the tour. They leave them disengaged and sleeping all day. They even lie to "A Place for Mom" and tell them that your loved one is visiting, so that they do not have to pay the referral fee to "A Place for Mom". Three months of wasted time with Colonial.
