My mom doing good and the staff are taking care of her very well, including what the other communities did not want to assist my mom with. The staff are helping her get as comfortable as could be. A Place For Mom gave me a list of places and when we came here, it looked very nice.

I also toured Medalion Retirement Community. This place was very nice and the tour guide that took me around was nice and informative. It was a good experience to tour and there was nothing wrong with this facility, we just found another one that fit out needs a little better.

When I went to tour Healthcare Resort, I realized that they only have Assisted Living there, and we needed a place that offers Memory care. It was a nice community, but not what we were looking for.

My mother has been at The Citadel about 6 weeks and she is still adjusting. They seem to be right on the spot when my mother needs anything. I don't have much to compare the experience to, but it has been good so far. The only thing I wish they would do is to come up with a checklist of things we will need to do upon move in, so new residents are not overwhelmed.

The staff at The Citadel are bending over backwards to help mom adjust to living here. The activities coordinator is good at encouraging her to participate in the tons of activities they offer. They offer activities such as cards, happy hour and church services. It is easy to get around the community and the maintenance staff are quick to respond. The food is terrible, they do not serve food to the residences, they have to serve themselves. Other communities I looked at offered money towards food, but that option is no longer available at Citadel. The place seems clean and I like that there are places outdoor to sit.

My mother needed to build strength after multiple falls and a hospital stay. We chose this place as it was close to family. They accepted her medicare/medicaid and treat her well. She's been there a few weeks. The social workers, nurses, and staff we've met with have been helpful and kind. We visit at least 4-5 days a week and every time there have been activities happening. We typically will wheel her around the facility and the only negative is that in the long term side of the facility there is the odor of urine in the hallway in the region of the laundry. Mom also has incontinent issues so that is not an unexpected odor to smell - unfortunate that its a concentrated odor in that hallway area. My mom is in her late 80's, she's difficult and does not mix well. She was a reluctant rehab patient but the nurses and physical therapists and assistants have been patient, kind, encouraging and are helping her transition to using a wheel chair for safety reasons. She often refuses to participate in activities but they come by her room and offer tea or a treat, puzzles, magazines, etc. She likes the food they serve her too. Recently she's even said it might be okay to live there.

I am happy to know that my grandmother is in great care here. We like the staff and how caring and friendly they have been to our needs. She is happy with the variety of meals. She is offered activities. The community is very clean. I do recommend the excellent care here for other families for a good value and excellent care.

My mother originally lived in Sunrise, about 5 years. She would engage in some activities, rarely, and as her memory left her, the engagement diminished and so did her happiness. Moving to Katella Senior memory care unit was the best decision I made. She is more confused, but less angry and paranoid, and seems to be participating in the activities more. She enjoys the music and exercise classes that are lead by people who are enthusiastic about what they do and it shows. The staff takes time to know their residents and seem to enjoy them. This is a wonderful place to have your loved one.

This is nice community for my mom. A clean community in everyway. The food is very good and a variety. Alot of activities for her to enjoy. I would highly recommend this community for great care and value.

I was surprised at the property and the staff. The rooms were larger than the small community homes. Pets are able to visit.

My parents were both happy at this location. We did move them closer to home, but they were very pleased with the great care they received while they were there. The food was excellent and very pleasing to them both. The staff was wonderful and always wanted to make sure that their needs were met. I would recommend this for good care for family or friends.

The people that assisted me with my tour of this community were nice and knowledgeable. The community looked clean and well taken care of. I was not able to try to food there. They have a swimming pool available for the residents.

Mom was at this community for about 3 weeks before she had to go back into the hospital. While she was there the staff was good to work with. My only concern is that when she had her stroke it did not seem like anyone did anything to help her. The food is good and they offer a wide variety of quality food. I would recommend this community for people that do not need a lot of monitoring.

We have had a good experience with this newer community. The staff are nice and we have good communication with them. My sister is still getting settled in and she is helping with the community to work with activities. They are now working on starting transportation. The community is well maintained and I would recommend it.

POSSIBILITY--Close to home. A dog may be allowed(additional cost for dog care). Feels institutional even tho it's small(approx. 25 MC residents?). It is a remodeled SNF. Dining room still has a nursing station next to it. Sparse decor/small rooms/small patio area. Community fee waived if moving in by July 1st.

My father is is doing well and it works well for him. The property has a big outdoor area to walk through. He likes that there are lots of people to meet and greet, very sociable residents. They do offer activities which my father participates in and even though he won't remember he seems to enjoy it. Overall it is by far the most roomiest place. I would recommend it.

Things are going fine for my husband and I here at Citadel Assisted Living. The community is remolding right now so thing are a little crazy around here with the mess, but other then that it is a nice looking place. I would say the one thing that make this community is the people here they are simply amazing. The residents were friendly from the moment we stepped on the property. The company of the people here is great there is always someone here to talk to or have dinner with. It is nice after 60 years of marriage to have someone cooks for us and clean for us. We are very pleased with this community and I would recommend it and I would say to anyone looking into senior living is to take a look a few different community so you have choice's. Also to let you loved one decide where they wanna go since they are gonna be the one living there they know what they like.

So far, things are going well at Brookdale Patriot Heights. The facility is nice and the staff keeps it cleaned well. The other residents here are very welcoming and friendly. They seem happy and well adjusted. The staff is pleasant.

I love how they met my family and I at the door with a warm aura. We all loved the layout of the facility. The extra curricular are always a PLUS!
