We really liked this facility, the common areas are simply lovely, old arts and crafts and mission style furnishings, nice courtyards, lovely dining room and piano rooms and living areas. It is situated in old Williamsville, so it doesn't have that suburban institutional campus feel. The entire population of the village is 75 people or so, a good size. The lovely [Removed] was informative, supportive and does her job extremely well. I was convinced that my in-laws would get the absolute best care here. The problem was the units; the one bedroom units are too small, only a kitchenette with two burners, no oven, and not even enough counterspace to easily make coffee and a sandwich...although there was room for an island to remedy this. There is no room for clothing, a tiny bedroom closet, no entry way closet for coats; I do not see how we could put both parents' clothing in the room and space for an armoir is also limited. The bathrooms were also lacking storage. The one bedroom we saw looked into the courtyard but had no walk-out. I wish the owners would put some thought into redesigning these spaces. We saw a two bedroom which was nominally better but all the walls are oddly angled making furniture arrangement challenging. All units are all-inclusive with all kinds of help included in the price...from personal lanyard with urgent assistance button, dressing, shaving, showering, up to ten medications administered. Transportation services looked good. I wish [Removed] had better facilities to encourage! She is a treasure -- smart, genuinely interested in people, and not as pushy, speedy, and 'rehearsed' as so many people at these facilities seem to be.

Lovely facility and good for higher functioning adult, but mom may need a facility which can provide locks on main doors. Also I did not observe activities designed for memory care.

This community was a little more expensive than what we were looking for. The community did not seem as bright and clean as the community we chose. The furniture seemed run down and I did not get a cheery feeling. The staff I met were nice and knowledgable

When I took a tour of the community I was shown around the place. I saw a room that I had hoped was bigger and more open. The community had a smell lingering, They can be more clean to prevent this.

Visited. Nice place. Met [Removed] who gave me a tour. The shared rooms were very small! I have application. Waiting list 6-8 mos for Medicaid room. They try to match people up for shared rooms. All on one floor . Mailed in application. They are keeping it on file. Taking ALAN to see facility in Feb when our son is in town

The Elderwood Assisted Living at Waverly was the most expensive of all of the communities we toured. Also, we found out that they get their meals for the residents from the hospital. It was just not a good fit for my mother.

My tour of this community was pretty nice. The tour guide I had was very nice and friendly. This is a bigger community compared to other. I felt it would be a little overwhelming for my mother. After listening to everything they offer, I felt they didn't everything my mother needed. Also it isn't a secure community, and that wasn't something I was comfortable with. Overall nice place, but not the one for us.

This community is not taking care of the carpet that needs to be replace . I informed the staff that it is not clean. They do not offer a variety when it comes to the menu. It is a nice community, but needs some small improvements.

I took a tour of Brookdale Fairport the guide that showed my around was smart and attentive. There were not many activities offered as well as not many meal plans. The bedrooms were small and the layout of them didn't work with my loved ones needs. They do try to accommodate residents but everything is so small.

Our experience with Brookdale West Side Rochester has been somewhat mixed. It's a nice looking place, and the staff was very friendly and helpful throughout the whole touring and move-in process. However, they've been a little less on-the-ball and harder to get ahold of since we moved in. We also were not aware that the residents are mostly female, which has made socializing a little difficult for our loved one.

It has only been a short time that my loved one has been a resident, and I have been visiting DAILY for several hours. I see many " opportunities for improvement" as we say in the health care world. I don't think they match their sales pitch to what is done in reality. When you bring up their shortcomings to the staff, their mantra is "we don't do that here, this is assisted living". It is my intention to meet with the Executive Director once I have gathered my thoughts and have more time for my observations. Oh, by the way, when I privately asked a resident how quickly they respond to the call light, it was the resident who clued me in to their "fall policy" which was not part of their sales pitch. I'll be asking to see that policy in writing very soon. Families need to advocate for the frail.

This place could really use an overall and updating inside and out. The carpeting has had it. Why not just get rid of it? Upholstered chairs are stained. Outside seating isn't very functional (and why does everyone crowd around the front door?). Parking is difficult and there's not enough handicapped spots. I know this place has been in business for quite some time and the woman I placed here is satisfied with it because of the low cost but it really needs a serious makeover.

I completed a tour of this facility. All of the staff were charming and helpful, but the overall impression was of a nursing home.

Assisted living. Average age 88. Doors not alarmed. Very quiet when I was there. Not much going on. Pros: internet included, availability for both studio and two-room, very close to house, rooms are furnished but can bring own if wanted Cons: 7% annual increase,

I was impressed at first when looking at it for the memory care but they did a real bait and switch on me as far as the money was concerned. If they would treat people like that when they were looking what would they treat the residents like once they were in?

Nice location and grounds. We did a drive by and if we need more, I can make an appointment. The people there are very nice.
