It felt like home - I knew my Mom would love it there. It was simply a "knowing" in my heart. God absolutely led us there. I would recommend to others. In fact my best friend's dad just moved in on our recommendation.

You have to keep an eye on things (e.g. escorts to meals, medication management and admin) but they do well over all. Champlin Shores was bought out about a year ago and its new name is [facility removed].

My loved one is currently a resident at Vernon Terrace of Edina and overall things are great now. The facility is very clean. The friendliness is good, but at one point it was poor. The staff and care services are great. When my loved one first moved in over a year ago, the food was disgusting. However, it is great now. The activities are great, though my loved one doesn't participate.

Overall very nice apartments and great common areas. A nice variety of group activities available on a regular basis so always something interesting to do. Nice to often see residents gathering together in common areas to visit.

The building is very new and clean. They have a theater room, a cocktail/bar area for weekly happy hour. The staff and other residents are very friendly. There's a small fitness room. It is pretty expensive and they just raised the rent after 2 months!

I liked Champlin Shores. But I was hoping that at a smaller facility there would be more continuity of care by the same staff members day after day. Sorry to say that in 2023 the revolving door of employees is inevitable.

initial meetings and lease signing went well. Follow up since signing has been less efficient. I believe they are going through a transition with new staff. The welcome when Mom moved in exceeded expectations. She even got a literal red carpet welcome at her door with balloons. Cleanliness most areas look clean except for the elevator. Very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Mom is at an Independent level so we can't rate the care. Meals/Dining So far most items are tasty and cooked well, with good variety. Mom hasn't been there long enough to experience the activities. They lack church services, Bible study and Worship which are listed in the Resident Guide but not currently available. This would mean so much to Mom to have these. The price is comparable to other facilities in the area. It's just naturally high priced. I appreciate that the rent covers everything including food, and utilities.

We toured at Champlin Shores because the location was familiar to us. I liked it okay. It didn’t feel as nice as the place we chose, but it was also much older. They were doing renovations to update it though, and it was definitely still a contender as we made our final decision.

I think this is a very nice place and that it is well run and well organized. They are very responsive to me when there is an issue with my loved one. they alert me all of the time when there are any issues. Sometimes they don't return calls immediately and there are things that I may need to communicate this can be hard but for the most part this is a great place and I would recommend it.

I felt when we came to tour that this facility was much less busy and hectic than other places that we saw. It also does not have that institutional feeling at all. The apartments have full kitchens and felt more homey. The activities have been great, I like how they provide a shuttle service so residents don't have to worry about deriving but are still able to get out and about. The nurses on the care staff have all been great but I know they are changing companies so it will be new staff. I would recommend Vernon Terrace for others.

The community was good just not what we were looking for my loved one. They had a good tour.

We chose Champlin Shores because of the close proximity to our house. The room sizes at the facility are adequate, my dad seems to be very happy here. The staff are always extremely friendly and he has settled in well. I would recommend them to others looking.

We chose The Sanctuary because I liked how many activities they were planning and I thought that the staff were really knowledgeable. The room sizes at the facility are very nice and spacious. I would recommend to others looking.

Our family had an in person tour and it was a good tour and in the same area which we really liked. We had gone when they had there grand opening, and it is newer, and the spaces are up to date.

This seem like a good community and it is a newer community.

Setting covid aside the meals, dining and activities our be getting 5 stars. However, due to the restrictions the meals are still good but they are better when the residents are able to eat in the dining room, and the activities go from opening back up to shutting back down when someone tests positive but they do try their absolute best. For everything that we got, we would have to say the value for cost is fairly reasonable. The community in a written statement will not kick you out of your run our of money which is very reassuring. We also like that they do not have ratio with private pay like other communities. When we were touring it was just such a perfect fit in so many ways.

We toured The Pillars and it was a very nice beautiful facility. It was just not the right environment of what we were looking for for my dad.

Our Dad really liked the Vernon Terrace. The warmth from the staff AND the residents was wonderful. He really felt at home even though the courtyard is small and the building is older. There is a beautiful library across the street as well as Jerry's groceries and the Edina Senior Center. If you can swing the private pay, this is worth checking out. Small detail, but we really liked it, is resident's last names are on a nice brass plaque on each door. It felt just like a solid front door - a door to a home - than a room in a building. That feeling was throughout. All the staff and residents said hello. It's too expensive for us.
