My friend lives here. I enjoy coming into the building because it is so pretty when you first enter, and the rest of the place is as well. The double-story lobby with fireplace is super cozy and I can see why a lot of people like to visit right there. The staff seems very helpful. I hear sometimes some grumblings about this and that, but I'm guessing that is in any community-you can't make everyone happy! My impression is that it's a happy place overall, residents seems to be enjoying themselves and they seem to all have friends. My friend likes the food and restaurant type dining and activities, has invited me to happy hour but I haven't had the time to participate yet. My friend likes the caregivers, she said some are very friendly and talkative, and others are polite but not necessarily chatty. Nurses are busy, but I understand there are some changes in staff and I heard they are really good from my friend, she likes the direction she sees everything going.

Beautiful building. Everyone I encountered was engaging and sincere. I'm looking for a place for my mother and was very impressed

This facility is a great place for older adults to live who are searching for a safe and welcoming place to fit their needs--a "Sanctuary." This is a place that heeds true to its name. It really is one of the safest, most beneficial choices to find living in. Some of the residents at this facility may beg to differ with the value that's pointed out in this statement. However, these residents may not need a Sanctuary for their assisted living service needs. Do not let this discourage anyone who is interested in trying it out at the Sanctuary. The care staff is amazing in the way that they spend their hours taking care of their residents in the best way that they can. Every day they improve their methods, but that is ultimately beneficial for the residents needing the care. Nothing is fancy, but this place sure is. And if you disagree with that, I would like to see you show for yourself something fancier. One thing about this place is that the Aides who provide direct care for the residents only do what is helpful mostly for you. The rest is simply respectful treatment in the sense that you are not overwhelmed by the feeling of someone else being in your business. The dining room, however, is a problem for most, including the wait staff who have a tendency to mistreat people including the CNAs. However, the food staff comes below the direct care providers in terms of importance in this building, The CNAs and TMAs are there to run the show as they support you and all else in our building.

Beautiful facility with exceptional staff. Plenty of activities! My mother loves it there.

We toured this community it was nice and clean. They were wonderful here.The rooms were spacious. My sister just didn't feel comfortable here. I would recommend families tour many places before making a choice. Also to read what you are signing.

When my father was at Cherrywood Pointe, we noticed that they were very short-staffed, They did admit that they were short staffed as well. It would take up to 30 minutes for someone to get to him when he needed something. Some of the staff was very good, [Removed] was incredible. The food was okay but they did not do much with the breakfast, that could have been improved.

It is fine so far for my parents. The staff are helpful and attentive. My parents like the meals from the dining room but they are able to make their own meals in their apartment. It is a clean facility with very, nice activities and great rooms. They have been using them.

They are doing a great job. The individualized attention, is one of the things they do best. We are very happy with them. I would give them a four and a half to a five.

This location is now Brookdale Champlin. From the first phone call to ongoing support, I have received amazing customer service on every level and so has my Mom. Mom moved in 15 days ago and she LOVES living there! The moment I walked in the doors, I felt comfort and peace coming from staff and residents alike. Mom thought she'd be cooking her own food a lot, but she enjoys having a menu to choose options and not having to clean up. Choosing Brookdale was one of the best decisions I've ever made.

A residence that gives a person dignity and more than just a room . My spouse is safe and comfortable .

My mother and father have been in York Gardens since December of 2012 and we are all delighted. The facility is top notch in every way however this is minor compared to the high quality of care they are receiving. Everyone from the nursing staff, activity coordinators and business office take a personal interest into the needs of my parents. The culture, love and caring for mom and dad has meant so much to our whole family. I could not proved a more enthusiastic endorsement!

My mother is very happy at TowerLight. Between my own family and families of friends, I've had personal experience with several senior communities over a span of 30 years. Some felt like hotels. Some felt like institutions trying to look like hotels. TowerLight feels like home. I think this is because family is valued as an important part of the resident’s care team. We’re always made to feel welcome when we visit and are encouraged to participate in special events. The building design incorporates features that enhance seniors’ safety, mobility, independence and sociability. These are subtle features that don’t jump out at you, but would change the character of the community if they weren’t there. One example is strategic placement of elevators and common spaces to minimize walking required to get to key locations within the building. Mother especially enjoys the many varied activities which provide opportunities for socialization and personal growth. There is an impressive balance between activities among the residents as well as opportunities to engage with people in the greater community outside the building. The management has set a tone in which they and all of the staff are respectful of each resident and work to meet their needs.

They do a good job. They are very clean and the staff is friendly. The only thing on the activities side, is that it seems like there is a lot of the same stuff going on. The food is excellent. They seemed to me like they were willing to accommodate whatever needed to happen to make whatever needed to happen for our loved one. They gave me the impression that they were the most capable for our situation.

Living out of town, it was very comforting to have received suggestions from A Place for Home to bring to Minnesota and be able to make appointments for the next day from my arrival. I feel the suggestions were appropriate and involved a range of cities. We chose Champlin Shores because my Dad liked it the best when we saw three on Saturday, then after seeing three more on Tuesday, he still liked it the best.

Thank you Deborah Perke and A Place For Mom. I am grateful for Deborah calling, listening to our needs and following through with 2 great referrals. We chose the Fountains because of the great Memory Unit that they have: it is spacious, has an activities staff and caring attendants. The director of nurses, Holly OBrien is a astute nurse with apparent great skills and is very caring. She sold us quickly. I give this facility an A+. My sister seems to be adjusting well and quickly.

Love the closeness from home base; Love the newness & furnishings; Love the people! Food is never hot but good variety. Enjoyed meeting several people I knew from back years but did not know they were residents of TowerLight. My husband and I took in the four o'clock "Happy Hour" and enjoyed the hour very much, Staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and caring. The move in was a little tough but went as well as could be. A little more friendly welcome would have added to the move-in. The red light "alert" button around the neck is a great plus.

I was first told my mother was qualified for assisted living and didn't need memory care as I thought. We moved her furniture in to a beautiful apartment. While in rehab at Twin Rivers it was decided that she needed memory care. Memory care is a smaller room in which she can only have a fourth of what we paid to have moved. I know it is right for her to be there, but am disappointed that we had all that work, money and time spent moving furniture and belongings out of Champlin Shores. I now have to change her phone to another room and change her mailing address with the post office when I am given the room she will be in once these changes are complete.

He was only there for a week but it was very good. The people were very helpful. We weren't really sure how long he was going to be there but we owuld have been fine with him staying there if he had to, but he was able to stay with a family member permanently. They would give him medicine reminders and I thought that it was a very nice place, the people were very helpful, especially considering our situation. They were always prompt in getting back to me if I had questions and needed answers.

There are very few activities offered. And when they are maybe a handful of people attend. That is very disappointing. Otherwise it's a nice building - it is very clean and quiet.

Nice place but expensive although I don't have a comparison. We picked this community because of the location.
