Distinctive Living

The Inspired Living Memory Care Community had just opened when we placed "Dad". It is a very clean, well-laid out community with 2 primary wings off a main hallway that has 3 screen porches and a very large, secure courtyard. Wall murals showing the staff and residents as "leaves of a family tree" helps guests to identify other residents and caregivers. A Hall of Honor mural for Veterans in residence shows a Flag and American Eagle, with the Veterans photo and branch of service. I know "Dad" really enjoys seeing his photo, name and branch of service on display. All staff members we have met have been helpful and friendly. Inspired Living was chosen for their location, their responsiveness and involvement in the community. They help sponsor seminars and training by Teepa Snow, and we were fortunate to attend one of these seminars. The staff is very good at redirecting a resident to a positive outcome when a situation may cause anxiety. There have been a few minor issues and we are always notified promplty. If we have had a concern, a simple email receives a fast response and the issue is immediately resolved and we know we can call any time.

This facility is Beautiful! The staff is so sweet and kind,they do everything to make our family member,and our family feel at home.The staff pays attention to every detail,no matter how small.We really feel like they are a part of our family. We know our loved one is happy and healthy there.We would highly recommend The Chelsea at Brick.We looked at other places,but we knew when we took a tour of The Chelsea,this was the place.All of the residence were so happy to be there! Kelly and Bennett were so helpful and sweet to us and our loved one,we knew this was the place for us.

My dad is 91 and pretty self sufficient. My mom is 86 and a diabetic who had to go from oral meds to three shot of insulin a day. She was unable to administer these shots herself. They live five minutes away from me , so I would go there three times a day to do this and help with breakfast and lunch and bring dinner to make sure they were eating correctly. I am their daughter and love them ,but it just got to be exhausting. I am recovering from cancer and will hopefully be able to go back to work soon. I had to figure out a better way for all of us.i went on line and a place for mom came up. I put in my information and 5 minutes later I received a phone call that gave me peace of mind. I was not the only one in this situation. I was given a list of wonderful facilities to check out in my area. When I walked into the Chelsea ,I knew it would be perfect for them. The people were very kind and accommodating. Their little apartment was just perfect for them. It is clean , pretty and a happy place. Everyone greets you with a smile and a hello. My parents are making new friends and adjusting. They are slowly getting involved in some of the activities and I am happy for them. It is much better than sitting and watching TV all day! We went to the Mother's Day tea they had and it was very nice. I am so happy that they are in a great place and being taken care of. I truly have peace of mind and we are all able to have a better quality of life. I hope this little story helps someone realize that sometimes you just can't do it all and it's OK.

They do monthly weigh ins which I like. They don't have as many activities as we are used to doing. They will shave the residents for them. They don't have mirrors in the bathrooms. They are a new state of the art community. They don't have outings. They don't have scenic viewing. They have quite a few rooms. I just visited and looked around and spoke to some people.

We're very happy with this community! It is a nice looking, clean place, and all the residents and staff have been very friendly! Everyone has really made her feel at home, and she is loving it here. She was recently nominated as the Valentine's Queen For The Day, which really tickled her. We toured quite a few places when we were looking into options, and this place was just a great combination of room type, amenities, and location for the price! I'd definitely recommend taking a look at it if you are searching.

I liked it a lot! It was a little out of the way for me. I liked the staff. I liked it a lot, and the director was wonderful. It had a very rural setting.

Mom hasn't been here long, but so far she is really enjoying it. Something we noticed right as we walked in for our tour is that there seemed to be a lot of people out socializing, and an active community was something Mom was really wanting. It's a great looking place, and the staff are very friendly. We did Thanksgiving dinner with Mom, and the food was excellent. The chef came out after the meal to chat with everyone, which I thought was a nice touch.

Very nice facility. It was my first choice except they were so expensive. The place is gorgeous, but I saw people bored there too. I didn't like that it cost an extra $250 a day for high level of care, which I knew that my mother would need. The place we ended up choosing has an all inclusive care package.

Staff was wonderful. Food was fairly simple and bland (mom's opinion). Care and ability to socialize was very good. Sometimes locking of the doors after it was hard for visitors. Maybe could be a better system for after our visitors.

They have caring staff. It is clean with decent sized rooms. The only negative was some belongings went missing but that could have been due to resident himself or other residents faulty memory. I would most definitely recommend them to others who are searching for care for their loved one.

I can really only speak to end of life care. If he was able to enjoy the place, meet people, and experience the amenities and food, it would probably be a 5, but he went down hill immediately when we moved him in (which was not due to them, of course) so the end of life care was probably a 4, since some of the staff didn't seem to understand when he couldn't swallow and how to administer meds with out dumping water into his mouth and causing some choking. The hospice nurse had to explain to a couple of staff how to do this correctly. I still think it is an amazing place and would highly recommend it. My brother, his wife, and my mom said they would stay there if it was their time to need a facility like that.

Absolutely loved it. The only reason I did not give 5 stars was the room choices for assisted living were not good. Very small. That was the deal breaker for me.

Several shoes have been lost. I replaced some over the holidays and they are now missing again. It's costly to have to keep replacing them. It would be nice to have email or some form of communication with the head nurse or director of nursing. I am only able to contact her by calling the facility. The staff overall seem friendly and attentive when I have been there. I believe they are changing directors at the facility and have not received any updates as to status of that.

The staff is great, very helpful. The beginning was off to a slow start but we all worked through it. The down side is It is very expensive to have my mom there and realistically we can't keep her there long term.

The Executive Director is from the corporate office, very knowledgeable very helpful very fun. She gets things done. Whenever we have issues, we feel that she has been responsive and gets a resolution. It's important to manage expectations for the resident. It is an assisted living, not a nursing home.

Nice facility, friendly, knowledgeable staff. Staff took the time to explain various options, including LTC.

My Aunt loves the food, she loves the programs as well. I am frustrated with diaper changes at night. My Aunt can't ring for the night nurse, as she is sleeping and because of that they don't come and she wakes up soaking wet in her diaper. I believe we will eventually be able to resolve this.

My parents were there from [date removed] we had a great experience there the staff was very caring and attentive to both of our parents. The room was kept clean they were clean they also made sure that they ate as well and all the medication was given to them in a timely manner. the only issue that I would say we may have had would have been with transportation for doctors appointments. My father passed away [date removed]and then we took my mother out of the facility to live with us.

The outside is always maintained, the inside looks nice but they do have portable AC units set up, not sure what is wrong. Staff is nice but service has been mediocre. I have had to address a few issues and was told that it would be corrected but it would happen again.

What we like the most about the community is that it is clean with no smell. The food is decent. There is a lot that can be done there such as different activities.
