Distinctive Living

I have been searching for the best care for my father who sadly has suffered with Alzheimer's Disease. I have toured every possible Assisted Living and Memory Care Facility in South West FL. I found Autumn Leaves in Venice to be the absolute best residence and the only one I would consider moving my father to. The physical environment was beautiful and dignified. The staff that we met were compassionate, knowledgeable and supportive towards my father and my family. The activities, living environment, privacy and actual treatment was so impressive. We left our tour feeling for the first time with a sense of relief that we now have an option for quality and respectful care for our father.

My wife was placed in inspired living on [date removed]. My experiences to date [date removed] have been very pleasing. My wife appears to be happier than when I was taking care of her. They have entertainment and my wife loves music and dances. She seems to really like all the staff and the staff seems to be handling problems that I could not resolve. To date, based upon my experiences, I can highly recommend Inspired Living for anyone looking to place a loved one in a home because of Alzheimers.

Overall, we are pleased with Inspired Living in Kenner. It is apparent that they are having some growing pains as the facility adds residents. Some response times have been very poor but management is quick to recognize and have taken corrective action. The Head Nurse, [Removed], has been fantastic and the sales folks are very cordial and helpful.

For the most part I do feel my mother is very satisfied with her move to this community. It is good, safe facility with great people. I think they have a nice hiring selection, and the staff that works here is good. They have been responsive to any concerns she may have. When I visit the community, and her room is well maintained. They do provide nice meals, and good activities for the residents. I do feel comfortable with her move to this community, and it is one I would recommend.

Inspired Living at Sun City has been a great move for my aunt. She is doing so much better since moving to this community. Also, the move was beneficial to our family because it is conveniently located where we can visit her more often. The food is very good, we can't wait to go on prime rib night, they have a great chef there, and another lady supplies homegrown herbs. They give the residents snacks and keep them hydrated throughout the day. We really like the fact that they encourage the residents to get out of their room and try and engage them in the numerous activities that they provide. My aunt is an early riser so she enjoys everything they have to keep her busy. They have several rooms set up for activities and entertainment comes in to entertain the residents. The atmosphere is inviting and they are welcoming to our family when we come to visit. I really enjoy the oldies music they have playing. There are porches and day rooms to enjoy the outdoor views, and a courtyard for them to walk around and get some exercise, or just enjoy the fresh air. The place is nicely landscaped and well-maintained. They provide transportation for those who can take part in going shopping, Dr. appointments, or out to restaurants located nearby. We would definitely recommend this community to friends and family.

My mother has recently made the move into this community and we could not be more pleased with how things are going for her. The overall staff have been so amazing and are always available to answer any questions we may have for them. The thing I am most impressed with would have to be the meals. They are always beyond amazing and my mother has actually gained healthy weight from eating so well. I like to see that she is getting out and starting to participate in some of the activities they have going on for the residents. Overall we are very happy and would recommend it to anyone.

The director of the community and the doctor walked me through everything. They held my hand and were very supportive. The staff I have met have been great. My loved one likes the food and they do offer some daily activities. The community is clean and well taken care of.

My husband is currently in his 2nd respite care at Ivy Ridge. He and I chose Ivy Ridge because the people living there have activities going on just about all the time, including a popular bingo game every evening at 6Pm. People are free to choose activities , meal choices, and may go to their rooms when they choose. From our observation of other places we felt they seem to be more oriented to the families rather than to the patients. Ivy Ridge is definitely oriented and engaged with their patients. My husband's first stay was for a month. This current one will probably be longer. I've been in al all hours and have been pleased with all shifts. My background is in nursing/administration

The food at this community is excellent and the chef comes out to interact with the residents. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. This is a beautiful place and they offer daily activities. I would recommend coming to take a look to see if it is the right fit for your loved one

The community was very organized. I received enough information about the community from the advisor. I also received a proper tour of the whole community. The staff there were all very nice and attentive. There were many common areas and activities. The community also offered Housekeeping and Laundry service / dry cleaning.

My mother spent her last three years in Inspired Living at Hidden Lakes with dementia, among nurses who cared about her and cried at her death. She was not an easy patient, but the staff treated her with tremendous respect and kindness and I am very grateful. They made her last years comfortable and she became extremely fond of her them, and they did of her. The whole experience was positive and I can highly recommend this facility if you are unfortunate enough to be in the position of needing to find good care for your loved one with memory problems.

They have a lot of activities at The Chelsea. My wife enjoys going to the auditorium and watching movies. She seems to like the food and the staff seem to be on the ball. This is a beautiful community and I would recommend it. She has made lots of friends and seems to like it there.

The staff has been extremely supportive and caring. My mom came in with dementia, but was still walking on her own and could care for herself mostly. As her needs changed, and she needed help with showering, dressing, and using a walker, the staff alerted me and we made accommodations. The only change my mom would have liked is more native English speaking helpers who dressed her - my mom sometimes had difficulty understanding them with their accents/limited vocabulary. But other than that, she's loved all the staff.

It has been 1 month so far since my Mom entered The Chelsea. She sounds like she has adjusted to the environment very well and she is eating all her meals. Plus getting physical therapy.

Great Place to live!!!!

It was a wonderful place. The staff was excellent and provided great care and comfort.

Being in the health care field for 31 years in pinellas county, I have had the opportunity to visit many facilities. Dawn Gretter at Ivy Ridge really helps my families feel comfortable about making the hardest decision of their lives. In my recent experience with the staff there, all of them from maintenance, dietary and care givers have gone above and beyond to ensure my residents have a positive adjustment. The secure outside area offers my residents a feeling of freedom, something that can be of great importance to them. Debra Castro the executive director has been available to me and my families if needed. Sheri Derry the program director is wonderful, I myself held this position for 17 years out in the community, so I am very particular on this subject. I rarely stop at Ivy Ridge when something meaningful, appropriate and fun isn't taking place with great attendance. I never see residents in recliners placed in front of the television and calling it an activity. No facility is perfect, but I appreciate one that is trying to be.

Hidden Lakes exceeded all my expectations for the care of my mother.

They are doing a pretty good job so far. When we first got mom in there, they had a new director, but things have run pretty smoothly. I did have an issue with the level of care at first. She seems to be happy and seems to have made an adjustment. Anytime something has come up it has been handled very well. It's clean, the people are extremely friendly, and not fake or phony.

They were incredibly diligent with what they say they were going to do from first point of contact, was tops very professional. Hope was excellent in the transitioning of my mom to the facility.
