My Father was a resident here. I cannot begin to tell you how wonderful his and our (my sister and I) experience was.. The Staff was so helpful and kind. He was in Assisted Living and needed daily care. We could count on the Staff for his safety as well.

Good staff and clean place to live, there are alot of things to do and they keep us busy. Transportation is nice when we need to go anywhere within 10 mile radius. Happy so far and no complaints at all.

At first I felt like my kids went behind my back and had me placed here. Now I wish they would have included me in the choice. Since being here it has been a joy. The meals and activities are my favorite part!

I stayed at other places in the area, and I'm so grateful to call Winter Village my home. You get multiple options in the dining room like salad, soup, and dessert every day and all the food is delicious. The other places did not comparable, and I never even saw lettuce there. The place at Winter Village is clean and the staff is always helpful and friendly. I would recommend it to anyone who asks.

Coming to the village has been a blessing! I am no longer stuck in one place. I am able to leave my husband in the apartment and know he will be ok. I enjoy the people and the staff and how hard they work!

I currently live here and like it. The food is good and staff is friendly. There are a variety of activities offered including wheel of fortune and bingo. A lot of other places in the area cost a lot more.

Everyone is kind and helpful. I love the activities and try to take part in everything I can. The food is delicious and they have many options for each meal. Living here has kept me moving and active! I have and will continue to recommend Winter Village!

They would be happy living at Holiday Walnut Park. The residents at the community are very open to new comers.

The facility is nice and new. It is well kept. However the restaurant side of things could use some improvements. the food is okay but the staffing issues effects the quality. But beyond that maintenance for the facility is good, house keepers come every week and do a good job.

This is a nice community. The staff are very helpful and friendly. I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. They are quick to respond to requests for the needs of our loved one. They are responsive to the family's questions and concerns, and if they don't know the answer they find out the answer and get back to us. There are three meals a day and there are choices for the residents to choose from. The community is clean and they do a good job at cleaning. However, the community is understaffed, like other places. I do see the community trying to hire and train new employees though.

We needed to find a safe happy environment for our Aunt And Uncle. Barnes Place gave us immediate care for them both. We could not be more pleased. The care is excellent. The facility is spotless. The staff greets everyone on a first name basis. This is a high quality establishment.

Barnes Place was a blessing for my mom. I had to quickly find a place for her, as she couldn't take care of herself. I was able to move her in within 2 weeks on hospice, but I will say most of the residents here seem to be self sufficient. Many have been there for over 2 years, and some still drive. Barnes Place is clean, everyone is friendly, helpful and they're really festive. I think they have like 10 Christmas trees up and always have Christmas music playing in the lobby. Everyone decorates their doors and puts fun decorations out in the hallway. It's not a depressing place AT ALL! It's like a big family of support. I was relieved when they told me my mom could spend the remaining months of her life here. She has a doctor that visits a lot of other residents, as well as a hospice team. The only downfall is my mom lost some of her clothes, 5 pair of pants and a few tops. Lesson learned, I need to label them for laundry day. They're a bit low staffed, but no place is perfect.

My mother recently moved in and it went well. I would advise others to work out the cable situation before the move, but overall a smooth transition. The staff seems really nice and helpful, but I will add it has been just over a week.

My mother really likes the residents, the staff, and the activities. She is doing an awesome job adjusting.

My father lived here for 2 years and I he was very happy at Brookdale Des Plaines. The staff was always helpful and would notify me if there were any concerns regarding my father. We chose Brookdale Des Plaines because it is a large facility and is located in the downtown area of Des Plaines - Which has a lot of stores and restaurants within 1 mile radius. There are lot of amenities that include a living room, dining room, activity room (pool table), library, fitness/therapy center, salon, outdoor patio, live entertainment, etc. They offer a bus that can take residents on field trips/shopping. My dad loved that he was able to socialize with other residents and staff members. I really like everything that Brookdale Des Plaines offers and I recommend it for anyone looking for a place for independent/assisted living.

It's not the #1 place in San Antonio, but it's a very good place. They seem to care. They're friendly, and basic care is good. Before we came, we asked people about the food, and they told us it's good. But my mom doesn't care for it - she would like to see more variety.

I already tell others of their kindness and the safety. The staff genuinely care and show it regularly. As a result, the entire community is friendly to all--everyone is greeted by nearly all the residents with openness and regard.

There is very nice outdoor space at the facility for residents to enjoy. They have exercise to enjoy all day long , chair yoga is very popular. [name removed] the executive director is priceless, she is very hands on. She actually comes and gets my friend up in the morning to exercise if she does not go and will lead them herself. My friend raves about the food! She says that the portion sizes are pretty big that they give out. There are plenty of activities provided. She has gotten pretty sick and there is a nurse in the building who is always there and she is always coming down and helping out, she takes really good care of her and is great with communication to the family. They are short staffed but they are doing the best that they can, they are overcoming that obstacle and the needs are still met. The value for what she gets is very good. They have a pool, happy hour, coffee bar etc. I would highly recommend Las Villas Del Norte to others looking.

It's been a great experience during a difficult time. We just wish the food was better. It seems there has been lots of turnover in the dining management.

We toured this community for my mom and are so happy to have found something that fits her budget and her needs. The staff and residents made her feel at home. They have lots of activities and clubs.
