There was only one other option in Sebastian, FL, and it had a wait list. Actually, The Promenade had a more livable space. Lots of relevant resident activities and transportation to local businesses.

The people I dealt with at Promise Pointe of Tampa Oaks were very nice. And the tour was a positive experience. We just preferred a different community. Size and number of residents was the determining factor - we were looking for a place that was not too big but not too small.

The laundry is not the best they could do better with making sure residents have clean linens in a timely manor. The staff are really great other wise very friendly and caring. The administrative staff have great communication.

The community was very clean. We felt they could have been more responsive when things needed to be fixed. My mother wasn't that excited about the activities they were providing and she was not super happy with the food.

Don't expect everything to be perfect. Give yourself and your loved one an adjustment period as this is most likely a first time event. Remain confident; you've made the best choice for your family!

My son and I visited with the sales associate [Name removed] and had a nice tour and lunch. The food was very good and fresh which is important to me. The price for 1br was about average but does include balcony and small kitchen. Looks like a lot of different activities and adventures to get into. I do plan on moving to this community with availability of desired location and price.

Lake Forest was very clean and nice. It didn't have as much public space for people to socialize. It had a nice dining room but only a small central area to sit.

The administrator [name removed] is the glue that holds that place together. The experience has been mostly good, and we picked this community because it was the only place that would take my loved one, due to an alcohol problem.

My loved one is no longer at Lexington Place memory care. When she arrived, they had an incredible activities coordinator [name removed] who my mom (and most residents) became very attached to. She was there full-time providing creative activities and plenty of individual attention. She was also successful at enticing other residents who were new or not engaged to join in. She also pitched in with care of the residents. Then suddenly, with no announcement, the activities director was gone. I found out [name removed] had been transferred to the Independent Living/ALF side and the unit resident care supervisor [name removed] was assigned resident activities as part of her job. The frequency and quality of activities dropped significantly and there was no meaningful time spent with each resident. Unless there is new management and/or a new full-time activities person, I would not recommend Lexington Place memory care.

The food is mostly frozen and canned. The only Fresh Healthy options are salad. House keeping is very basic. Activities are basic nothing special. The apartment sizes are very nice. The finishes and fixtures though are very basic for the price that is paid. There are no pool chairs and the pool is not heated. They have changed management and things changed right after my loved ones moved in. They want to move due to these changes.

The Promenade is a new community that needs to get established. That's the biggest thing. They have a tremendous turnover of staff. The activities are always canceled. Residents' rooms are not being cleaned once a week. Laundry is not being done. I think once they get more established it could be a better place.

The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The facility is beautiful and resort like. They have many activities and amenities provided for the residents. They are dealing with staffing shortages just like everyone else in the industry. The staffing shortages is what leads to the lack of care services. I would recommend them to others with that caveat.

The pros are the events and the activities director. She's very kind. The cons would be communication. I feel like it's hard to communicate with the staff there since their intake is just a receptionist, and there is no voicemail. They don't really answer emails either. We've had some issues with the nurse's aides as far as medication administration and general availability for care. I think when we were being onboarded, everyone was active in the beginning, but it seemed to fall off once we were in. Also the transportation to doctor appointments is limited, so we didn't get that initially. And that was one of the big reasons why we chose them, to have that service.

We began looking for alternate housing at the request of my mother. The Barrington looked to be the best fit for her finances and location which seemed to be more important to my Mom. The Barrington is big on keeping their resident's busy. Every week seems to have some kind of trip, entertainment and activities. The Barrington does lack on communication. Usually, I , the daughter of a resident, is the one to call administration to get something cleaned or to inform them of something new in my mother's care, even though she is in the ALF area of their facility. Even though we rank them as average, my Mother is happy there.
