AMAZING PLACE

I have a loved one residing at Woodland Palms and I can say that this community has really shaped into a great place for residents. The facility has had major changes recently with both remodeling and with new staff. Their newly implemented Honor Wall has become the talk of the community (residents) and they love it! When it comes to the staff, I couldn't even begin to describe how amazing they are! There have been some new faces to the community within the past few weeks and this new team (of old and new employees) has created a happy and loving environment for residents and family. The activities department has been in full swing with activities going on all the time from crafts, exercising, therapeutic group chats, to fun exciting games. Whatever the activity, the amazing activities director always has a big group of residents interacting and they are always having a blast. The best thing about this community is that since it is a smaller community, there is more personal one-on-one care. The residents have a chance to become more personable with staff and that is what makes this a very loving community.

Good and Great

When walking into the community we were met with a big "hello" and smile from the receptionist. She introduced us to [name removed] the saleswomen. We could tell in one instant that she loves the community and what she does. [Name removed] is very knowledgeable and honest. It was evident that she really cared for us and our Dad. When we went to see the living hall and rooms everyone said hello and went out of their way to come talk to us! We made a point to talk to residents and asked them how they liked living there. Not one person was unhappy or complained. It was obvious that the care staff loved the residents!! The pricing is fantastic and when we had lunch it was served with care (and the food was great)! The visit was about us and our family. Not a big sale pitch or pressure to hurry and make a decision. These are the things that make this place very good and our number one pick!

Good Place In General

While visiting a friend that lives there, I was excited to see how everyone knew everyone and got along so well together. Residents were helping each other, laughing and doing a fun activity. The grounds are pretty but the inside of the building does need some upgrading. I suppose that isn't what makes a good facility. It was good to see everyone happy and the food looked good. I liked the fact there was music playing in the dining room. In looking at the activities calendar, there is something for everyone.

Great Feel

I visited this community and was pleased to see how they are re-modeling/re-decorating. The staff and residents I visited were happy and friendly. It was really nice to see them all doing things together. The feel of this community is really nice. The courtyard was full of residents and some of them were watering plants or just talking together. I spoke to one Gentleman that just raved about how happy he was. Another woman came up to us and just said hello with the biggest smile. While the community isn't new, that isn't what we are looking for. I feel this is a great fit for our family member. Just knowing they interact, are active and smiling was all we needed to see!

Great place!!!

My dad has been here for 6 months, he is very happy here... He has Dementia/Alzheimer's, it was a hard decision to make when we realized he couldn't live home alone any longer. Reflections made this transition easy for all of us. He is still quite active and Reflections was a perfect fit for his needs. He has his own room, similar to a small apartment and can move freely around. With the secured, locked facility, I have the peace of mind that he can't wander off. They prepare great meals and snacks and do all sorts of fun things. With the smaller facility, there is a more personal touch and family feel. Everyone there has been so gracious and helpful. If you are having to make the same hard decision we did, check out Reflections at Garden Place.

A great place to live

My husband and I have been at Brookdale Cedar Ridge for about 2 months and are very happy here. We are in a 4 room cottage that is just lovely and very spacious. The meals which we have in the main dining room are very good with a variety to choose from . The staff are all very pleasant and are extremely hard workers. And, we enjoy the company of our fellow residents. I would certainly recommend this facility to anyone.

The Suites treats their residents like they would want their own family member treated.

I rarely write reviews of companies unless it was either an extraordinary experience or a horrible one. This is only the second review of a company that I’ve written during the past three or four years. I wrote the first one about a moving company that we desperately needed to live up to the promises they made to us and they did it beautifully. We had a very tight time frame to move our daughter out of her apartment in Canada and get her stuff to a storage facility so she could get to the airport in time to catch her flight home. We had never worked with this company before so we had to trust the owner’s word and the word of those who had used his service in the past. This company far exceeded our expectations by getting her moved out with time to spare and even offered to drive her to the airport. I trusted this unknown business with the trust I would only place with a close friend or family member and they came through. They deserved and got a glowing review for their superior service. This review of The Suites Assisted Living facility is being written because we are receiving the same superior service from them that we did from the moving company. My needs for good service here are so much more critical because I have to be able to trust them to keep my mom safe and take care of her not just once, but every single day. The SHORT VERSION of this is that the promises made by the sales person who helped us choose the Suites have been FAR exceeded by the quality of the facility itself, the genuine concern and professionalism of the management, and the enthusiastic and helpful staff that check in on, feed, and care for the residents. I couldn’t be happier and I get to see for myself what really happens in the facility because I visit my mom regularly and have the chance to interact with many of the people who work there each time I’m there. I’m always impressed with how much sincere caring they put into their jobs. Patient care seems like a top priority to all people there. I have not seen any issues that cause me to be concerned about the type of care we are receiving when we can’t personally be there. The LONGER version is this. Because of a change in her medical situation we were forced to move my mom from an independent living facility to assisted living in a very short time frame while she was laying in a hospital bed until we could find a suitable new home. Our concern was that some assisted living facilities put on their best face when you’re considering them for a future home for your loved one but as soon as the sales process is over, the day to day care may not live up to the promises that are made. Or worse! We met Marty who is the sales person at the Suites and he couldn’t have been nicer or more professional and accommodating. He didn’t treat his sales role as being separate from the day to day operation. He mingled easily with the staff and the residents and made himself very available to us for the series of questions we needed to ask to make sure of what we’re REALLY getting when you commit to a facility for what will be the remainder of their life. That’s a big commitment and a huge decision! We originally thought we were going to be placing my mom into their memory facility and did the appropriate evaluations for that. It looked promising and we were getting pressure from the hospital to vacate the hospital bed so when the manager of the memory facility put the brakes on moving her into memory care I was very frustrated. [Name removed], who is the aptly named memory care manager told us that making a hasty decision to put someone in a memory facility is nearly impossible to reverse and she didn’t want to let the process bulldoze us into being forced into a bad situation. It seemed like it couldn’t get worse because we were so deep into the process that this change in plans would delay the move-in by a number of days that we didn’t feel we had. I can’t thank [name removed] enough for putting her foot down and holding firm on what she felt was the best course of action for our mom. (To their credit, the hospital release coordinators were extremely accommodating through all of this due to our desperate circumstances). The facility and rooms are nice and it is a small enough size that it can be managed effectively. The room is comfortable and there seems to be enough staff to take care of the medications, the bed checks, the laundry, the housekeeping, the meal service. It’s a lot to manage and it seems to be done well. I have found that if something special needs to be done that it is attended to quickly. There is an almost daily positive message to the residents in the lobby area to keep the atmosphere positive at all times. The only wrinkle that has happened was actually all my fault. I must have missed the briefing about ALWAYS checking out with the front desk when removing one of the residents from the building. I took my mom for a dental appointment and neglected to alert the staff that I was doing that. (It makes so much sense now that I think of it) I had only watched the staff deal with the care aspect of the residents’ needs and had not watched them spring into action when it came to the safety of their residents. My simple act caused them to call me numerous times in addition to all family and doctor names that were part of my mom’s file. The sales manager had even gone to stores that she might have gone to! When I casually returned to the Suites I was greeted by a very worried management team that made sure I understood how seriously they take the safety of their residents. I was so impressed with all they had done (and embarrassed that I was the cause of all of this). When I got back the manager was just about to call the police to get them involved in the search. Several weeks ago I visited the facility when the staff was setting up for a big party outside with DJ music and costumes and decorations. It was a festive event and the managers were all involved in the event as well as the staff. They’re not doing what they do for the sake of good reviews and to put on a show to look good to the public. They do it to make the lives of the residents as full and enjoyable as they can. I truly feel the people who work at the Suites are there because they want to be and take their role there seriously. It seems to me that the work that it takes to run a facility like this would be incredibly difficult at best. There are a lot of moving parts that would be difficult to manage and carry out. But each month that my mom stays in the Suites is another month that helps me relax, knowing that she is getting far better care while having very concerned people watching out for her than I would have ever expected to find. Prior to my mom moving here I had not been aware of all of the minute details that I had had to worry about and deal with before. I now know that those details are getting taken care of by people I trust very much. Most of my business dealings have been with Traci but she works very closely with [name removed] the Executive Director and the rest of the management group in day to day and billing situations. I couldn’t be happier with the team that we have been lucky enough to have discovered at the Suites Assisted Living in Grants Pass and I encourage anyone with a loved one in need of an assisted living facility to at least give them a good look.

A great place to live

We really like Brookdale Cedar Ridge very much. My husband and I are in an Independent Living cottage which is utterly charming. We have a living room and dining area which have vaulted ceilings, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a good sized galley kitchen. The cottage includes a small patio and fenced in yard plus a 1 car garage with lots of storage. The food is excellent with many choices for each meal. There are activities . Once we get settled we will be partaking of those. The people who work here are exceptionally nice and most helpful. All have such a cheerful attitude. The buildings and grounds are most attractive with lots of flowers and are well maintained. I would certainly recommend Cedar Ridge.

Review of Morrow Heights

My aunt, mother in law, and mother have lived at Morrow Heights over the past five years. They have always been treated with respect and loving kindness by the staff and management. There are lots of fun and interesting activities and trips, as well as special dinners for family and friends. Everything is always clean, neat and warm & inviting - very homey! I love it and am grateful to have it in our community.

Review of Morrow Heights

The team at Morrow Heights is phenomenal and I can't thank them enough for the excellent care they provide to my mom. It's not easy when you realize that a family member can no longer take care of themselves. This transition was made easier knowing that she is in such a safe environment. To be honest, my mom can be a little ornery and the staff is always VERY respectful to her despite this - Thank you!
