After speaking with Seaton Chesterfield they had told me that they were not appropriate and would not be able to meet my loved ones needs. A couple of weeks later they called me and asked if I had made a decision yet on a facility, so I was just very confused by the whole situation.

We chose The Devonshire because of the location as well as they had immediate availability at the time. They also offered good incentives on rent and they had a lot of big selling points even some of them were not completely followed through on. We did have some issues with them coming in to clean the room like they said they would. He is in a studio apartment which works fine for what he needs. Overall, I would recommend to others looking.

My brother is being care for by Elmcroft's staff and I can sleep at night knowing this. He says the food is delicious which is the most important thing to him at this time in his life and it makes him happy. The staff has always been helpful when inquires are made about his care. I plan to go their myself if the occasion ever arises if not for just the activies. It is well run.

Amazing improvement in the park and grounds adjoining this home and hospital! The owner has made a good effort to restore it and residents are enjoying the beauty of the fountain and waterfall. Keeping it well kept and operating will be the key to bringing the community to visit. Now a word about the care at this Home for the Aged. The new management must step up to provide excellent care to those who are dependent. At times there are caregivers that are empathetic, responsible and consistent in their care of our loved ones, and that is what families appreciate. The issue-AT TIMES- is unacceptable. Staffing shortages that cause lack of personal care, scheduled activities and proper supervision of residents happens far to often. Many families have moved their loved ones to other homes that make Best Care and Aging Well, through sufficient and qualified staffing, - a priority. Current families want to see this home succeed, but care for their loved ones is their greatest concern. The families at this home want to continue our physical, emotional and financial support of our loved ones in this community but the staffing issues must be remedied quickly. The investors of this community must improve in well-trained & adequate staffing! This review service is so appreciated for letting the families have a voice that can make a difference in these deserving residents and the community.

We have been fairly pleased, while trying to be realistic about our expectations. My understanding is that most all of these facilities under staffed. I've been told that there is a certain legal requirement for the number of CNAs that must be on site for the number of residents, and that they meet the minimum; but that amount is not realistic in my opinion. There are seniors in the memory section who need a LOT of help....from sometimes more than one CNA at a time. It wouldn't be possible to cover two residents with emergencies at once should that ever occur, and during meals it is impossible to get anyone to respond outside of the dining room. But adequate coverage is a problem throughout this business and I doubt we could find a place with more coverage than is mandated. (I think it is one CNA per 8 residents, but don't quote me on that. That might sound like a lot, but many of the memory residents are non-functioning.) The CNAs that are there are very warm and loving people and my loved one adores several of them. There are also more activities there than we could possibly participate in, and they try to involve every resident to the best of the resident's ability. The price is reasonable, given the market in this area, and the food is fantastic, much better than we had expected. And the maintenance department is very responsive. But I guess most important is that my loved one has never asked to leave, so that says a lot.

I have been recommending this location to others. My mother has been here a little over a month now. She had a tough time in the beginning trying to adjust, but it’s something that we’re working toward getting better. She was having issues at the dining facility. They had a meeting with all the independent residents and the dietitian; many people suggested making the same changes. The biggest issue is to have more fresh steamed vegetables instead of over cooking them to death. They told my mother that they would work on that but she hasn’t seen them doing it yet. However, they have spoken with my mother and said if there is anything that she sees that she doesn’t like to tell them what she would like and they will do their best to make it. It is because she is in independent living that she has this option. The facility itself if clean, the staff seems happy to be there, they’re very helpful, and anything you ask they address it immediately. I am happy where she is, she is making friends, having meals with them, and they call her over to eat with them. The staff as well as the residents knock on her door and try to get her involved. The move could have been worse, but they made it as easy as it could be.

After visiting this facility, I found that it was a nice place, but I did not like their dementia unit. It is very dark and dreary, and almost prison-like. My mother is suffering from dementia, and I was not comfortable at all with the thought of placing her here.

Everything seems to be falling into place since we placed her here. I can't believe the transformation that has happened my mother is generally happy and being cared of extremely well it has given us such peace of mind. The community is close enough that we can come by and take her out for the day to spend time with her if she likes there are no restrictions about her going out for the day. Her unit is spacious and has made her feel quite comfortable and housekeeping is being done every day. The staff is extremely helpful and kind and makes sure that she gets dressed and cleaned every day. She has joined activities and has made a lot of friends. She does down to the dining hall for meals and is enjoying the food.

I have no complaints about the tour I had received at this community. The staff was very welcoming and greeted my family and I with a smile and open arms. I thought that the facility was nicely maintained and had a lot of great amenities they offered to there residents. It was just unfortunately not the right budget and fit for my mother.

I selected this facility because they offer the care my loved one needs, and it is convenient to family and friends. Their meals are good; they are patient, kind and attentive. However, they are short-staffed on weekends. When I visit on weekends there are no clean linens in the bathroom, the trash has not been removed, carpet still has the same crumbs that were there my previous visit, and the bathroom has not been cleaned. But I feel the environment is safe and beneficial for recovery.

Most of what I have seen about Commonwealth Assisted Living at Hampton has been good, but there is some area for improvement. I really like the facility. It is very nice, warm, welcoming, and well kept. The food sometimes is not as warm as it should be when it comes out. The rooms are well kept for the most part. They can be a little slow answering the buzzer when I come to visit. Sometimes I can be standing outside waiting for twenty minutes or more. Most of the staff is very good, but then there are others that need to step up their game.

The Landing is a very nice, clean facility. The dining room and lounge areas look out over the lake with ducks, swans, geese, etc. and is a lovely view which dad enjoys. Dad likes the food, although I wish they would serve some salads and green veggies sometimes. The staff are very friendly. The front desk ladies are welcoming and cheery. The care has not been up to the level I was expecting from information I was given or told, but dad is still settling in so it may take a bit to get everyone used to the routine. Most concerns I have expressed to the staff have been addressed. The nursing employees have been very helpful and the head of nursing is open to my concerns and will get back to me with answers to my questions in a timely manner.

The facility is lovely and clean. It offers many social opportunities for the residents and is caring and friendly. My only issue is with communication. My mom says when she rings for assistance no one comes, if asks for something she doesn't get it. I do realize, however, that my mom isn't always reliable. I have left messages at the front desk for the staff regarding my mom and they don't get passed on. (Such as hair appt.) I asked for a handle be fixed on her dresser 2 weeks ago and it still hasn't be fixed. When I call sometimes the one answering doesn't seem to know who my mother is. Sometimes I get sent to the correct area, get put on terminal hold. It would be great if these issues could be addressed ASAP.

Their contracted services works very well and they are all very very good. The staff is amazingly kind and attentive, and that is huge! I would say they have some communication issues across the departments which makes me have to follow up a lot myself to make sure things get done sometimes. They are under construction at the moment so there is the effect that has on the appearance and such, but of course that will pass in time.

My mother was only in this facility for 5 weeks. At first I was not pleased with the facility, because it seemed that they did not pay enough attention to my mother. But in hindsight, I would say that they were just trying to give her her space to let her adjust to the facility without pushing her. The problem was that my mother had decided that she did not want to be in this institution or any other and so she was very difficult. She was actually passing away during the time she was adjusting to this facility. But they got her to accept them and up to the time that she passed, they were very good to her, very attentive and helpful to the family. Her room was clean and the facility and employees were very good at what they do.
