Colonial Oaks Senior Living

So far all is well, and he is treated with respect and good care.

The staff seem very warm and friendly. The food is good and the facility is clean and in a nice neighborhood. Yes, I would recommend Colonial Oaks to others but only as a last resort (if you can't afford to stay at home). It seems kind of pricey. It's like a very expensive apartment but with three meals a day.

Staff mostly excellent. A couple kitchen aids a little dismissive. Food mostly very good. Some evening choices could be a little better. Morning and afternoon activities a little limited and seem a little boring to most residents. Rooms a bit smallish but acceptable and clean.

Everyone is nice and attentive. She likes everything about it except the food. The food initially was okay, but got worse shortly after she moved in. The food director left this week, so there is hope the new food director will improve the dining experience.

The staff is really great, they are very loving to my mom and they take great care of her. I would recommend to others absolutely

Over all staff is very friendly and caring Room size is good amenities also.

Colonial Oaks at Arlington, is a nice place for severe memory care. [name removed] is the Executive Director , and she is very professional, kind, and caring. She is trying very hard to hire more staff. The med techs there are all great. However, right now they seem to be a little short staffed with care givers, like other places, and that makes it a little difficult some days for your loved one. Also they do not have good Internet and WiFi and they provide the WiFi password as a courtesy. We are looking into to getting our on. More cost to us of course.

I have only visited my friend once at your facility, in talking to her family, we felt [name removed] needed time to settle in before visiting her. When I visited [name removed], she seemed to be doing well. She has not been eating, but this is nothing new. The staff there seem to care for her, and they are skilled at redirecting her when visitors leave. I hope [name removed] continues to do well there.

I thought the staff was wonderful with my Dad. Was very patient and caring with him and the family. The food could have been a little bit better but all in all it was a good experience.

We no longer are using their services as our loved one has now passed away, but the staff is very helpful and plenty of activities. We would recommend this community to other families based on the experience we had with Colonial Oaks

Colonial Oaks has very helpful staff that goes above and beyond. Starting with the front desk lady up to [name removed]. The experience has been great. We as a family feel very comfortable with our grandmother under their care.

I toured with The Village at Alameda and it was a pretty nice place. I was looking for independent living though and they only offered assisted living. The rooms that I saw were small and dim. The tour was fine, it was very detailed and they gave me all of the information I needed in order to be able to make my decision.

They have a lot of activities to keep their residents engaged if they choose. Such as exercise, games, singing old hymns, etc. They food has been really good but we heard they just lost their chef a week or so ago. Don't know how this will change. They have a nice dining area and allow my kids to eat with her at anytime. Location for us since it's a block from our house.

What we really like about Colonial Oaks is that they provide a wide array of care for a single price. Activities etc. Based on our experience we would recommend this community to other families who are looking for a facility for their loved ones.

Colonial Oaks seem to be doing a good job, and the people are friendly when I go there. They usually have some activity going on during the day. Just TV, or guessing the titles of songs, etc. sometimes someone comes to give a talk about something. I don't see a lot of interaction with staff lately, but they are upbeat and friendly with me and my sister when I visit.

We picked this community because, they had a space available, they seemed like they had a competent team, the rooms were nice, spacious and clean and they have a nice big courtyard. I just wish I had been smarter and had more support when it came time to sign contracts.

We picked this community because, of the high ratings and references, who spoke with high regards. Also, the location was a factor. I would tell other families, to make sure that they stay on top of things if there is any issues and make sure they are resolved. Overall, I am very pleased that mom likes the facillity, and has adjusted well.

They are comforting and the staff adopt the residents as their own. [name removed] is amazing to work with!! The staff communication is constant with calls, texts, pictures, and more. They respond immediately to the family's questions and concerns. They have been accommodating to the family's requests. The community works well with hospice and outside agencies. The internal communication is great as well!

Our overall experience was good, and the care was excellent. The facility itself was nice. I just had an issue with their financing. They charge a community fee, which the contract says is refundable in total or in part, yet they have refused to refund any portion of their community fee when my loved one was only there for 19 days. And it also took over a month to get a refund for the prorated amount that we had already paid. Otherwise is was such a good place.

I have been to visit a couple of times and everything was very clean, neat and updated. As soon as I walked in the door I was greeted and the staff have always been very friendly. The location of the facility is great for our family so we can visit often and take her out to do things. My mom is still able to get out and about which is very nice that she has that freedom still. I would recommend Colonial Oaks to others looking.
