Cogir Senior Living

Our experience so far has been very good, we can not think of another better place. The staff is fabulous everybody right down to the house keeping they just go way above and beyond. We would recommend this community to anybody. Our only complaint which is not really a complaint at all would be the food. In the beginning it was being delivered because of the pandemic and our loved one being in self-quarantine for two weeks. They were not prepared with thermal plates, so the food would be delivered not as warm as he desired. However, the dining room is back open now so that situation has been fixed, and the food is overall pretty good. From what we can tell, they try every hard with the activities and in the scheme of things we do think the value for cost is very fair.

The community has some inside activities going on now, our loved one has been able to meet new people. We do think the value is pretty good. Her room is a decent size it is perfectly adequate and has a full kitchen so she is able to cook her own meals. We would recommend The Lofts community to others.

I did a virtual tour with Atrium Village, and it was someone who took us around and showed us the facility rather than a recording. It looked like a very nice place with a lot to offer, such as a swimming pool, movie theater, etc. I did not choose this facility because the move in price was higher here than at another one I saw, and also the location was further away from my doctors' offices.

Mom really liked this place. They are in the process of remodeling so the rooms are all remodeled. All common areas downstairs are done. They seem to meet her needs the best. Now to convince her to move before the house sells.

Our tour at Emerald Pond was good. My loved one probably would have ended up going here, but it was just too far away.

We toured Park Terrace and it was extremely nice, they were in the middle of remodeling when we were here. They seemed to be doing a lot of activities despite covid going on unlike some other places we saw that were shut down. It was just a wonderful place.

One thing we liked is the location. There's a shopping center right across the street, and there's a pedestrian/walking/biking path that the residents could use adjacent to the facility. Cogir of Mill Creek was a beautiful facility, and huge. We ended up going with another Cogir - Cogir of Northgate - because it was smaller, which was nicer for our family members and easier for them to maneuver if they got confused. But we had an excellent tour at Cogir of Mill Creek. Everyone was very nice, they had good communication, and good follow-up. They were also very understanding when we didn't choose their facility. It just ended up being a little too big for our needs, and the other Cogir was closer to where we lived.

We chose Cadence because we were impressed with the staff members, the facility is close to the area where she grew up in, and the price was consistent with what we had seen. My moms room is adequate for her needs, she is in a double room but it has been private ever since she has been there. They do have some turnover of staff often but I would recommend them.

Huge and good location.

The staff is very friendly and very caring. Communication is very good between the staff and our family. They keep us well informed and up to date. The community is very neat, clean, has great food and dining, and has lots of things for the residents to do. I would recommend this community to others.

We were neck and neck with The Montecito and another facility. Their independent living apartments were beautiful and huge and it was all for a good price. I also have friends in the healthcare business who have worked here and said it is a place that they would strongly recommend to others looking. We only did not choose it because it was a little further away than another one we saw.

Our loved one was on the memory care side and we had such a positive experience. We absolutely love the facility. The staff members were great, the care takers were great. Every time we would call for updates they would tell us what he has eaten for the day, how is feeling and what all he has done. Such a positive experience.

Really like this facility. Very inviting and felt like home. Great activity board along with the food menu. I liked that they asked residents for input in the activities and food menu. Nothing negative to say

The staff is great and the care takers are very attentive and really work on trying to assist people with memory care issues like maintaining and supporting them. They do a lot of activities, and our mother really enjoys the women's tea. They also just set up an art room which our mother enjoys because she used to be a painter. Our mother is fine with the food, but our father sometimes doesn't really care for it.

I love it here. When you walk into our great room, there's a piano, and it's very welcoming. They check on you here daily, and will stop and talk to you for a moment and make sure you're okay. Everyone here, including the servers, are trained to make sure you're doing well. I actually placed myself here. It was time for me to get back around some people. They allowed me to have four cats, and I feel very privileged. There were absolutely no other places that would allow that. They have a cleaning service that comes every week. They change my sheets for me, which is HUGE since I have a bad back. They clean your bathroom and your whole apartment. They'll do dusting and vacuuming, but I do a lot of that myself to keep up with my cats. The only negative is there's not a lot of land around it since it's right in town. But at the same time, if you have a scooter, you can go across the street and go shopping. There's also a bus that can take you on errands. A couple of the staff have left, and now that they've gone, any tension is gone and everyone is working together like clockwork. The manager and the sales person get along really well, and that's really important, because you can just feel that they work well together. And you can go to either one of them if you have a problem. Even the sales person - she'll help with anything you need. The manager at the front desk is really helpful as well. They're opening up the dining room fully again and are transitioning away from serving food in the rooms. The food depends on who the cook is that day. The activities are well loved by the residents, and there is so much variety - things like balloon volleyball and baseball, but leveled down (sitting in chairs or standing at walkers). They have crafts as well, and bingo, movies, Farkle, Total Brain Health, bocce ball, horseshoes, baking club, church on Sundays. We have a new activities director who is really good, and she created a suggestion box so we can let her know what we'd like to see. There's a huge calendar of activities. I'm curious to see what the new miniature golf activity is going to be. Once a month, they hold two separate town hall meetings for us, one with the managers, and one with the chefs, where we get to say things good or bad. And they split those up by floor so you have plenty of time to talk and say what you want to say.

The activities are starting to slowly come back and what they have are good. From speaking with our loved one we believe the food is good, there are some things she really likes. We would recommend this facility to others, the director of the memory care is amazing. She is a perfect advocate for the families and loved ones.

The community has nice size rooms and patios. The staff was very helpful. Communication was good between the staff and our family and they kept us well informed. The community reminded me of a nice hotel. I would recommend this community to others.

The staff members are absolutely amazing they would be a 10 out of 10, they have just been fabulous. Even though our loved one is in assisted living, he does not need much help but if he ever did they would be there immediately for him. He absolutely loves the food, and the activities are still pretty limited but they do allow live music. This had been great for the residents they can and mingle with each other while social distancing. One of the best selling points is the value and it is in the best location. The biggest thing for our loved one is he only has to write one check a month for his payments, and not a bunch of separate checks or payments, it just makes things much easier.

The Community is neat and clean and the staff is very friendly. Communication between the staff and my loved one is very good and they keep him well updated and informed. I would recommend this community to others.

My mom absolutely loves it here. She has built friendships. The staff are helpful, the engagement from the staff, and feels supported. The community is great at keeping residents up to date with information There is a garden box in the commons area for planting. My mom is enjoying this and the friendships she has built in the community.
