We chose White Pine Senior Living because of their location. They are close to our home. The staff is friendly and helpful. I's say overall my mother-in-law is happy there. We would recommend White Pine to others.

The people here really try to make the residents feel like this is their home

There is a new house manager and RN who do exceptional work with all of the residents. Mom is well-taken care of and the staff is caring and kind-they know what they're doing. I'm glad we chose White Pine because it is clean and cozy and not too far from home. The activities are great-mom loves music and Bingo which they have every week! The food is good, but sometimes mom wishes to eat in her room with the food I provide her. Our family loves White Pine because mom is doing well there. Thank you!

[removed] and I thank everyone at White Pine for giving our mom a good place to recuperate from her hip fracture until she could return home. We appreciated the use of the bed, table and bedside table also. We felt mom was well taken care as much as we could ask for. Thank you to everyone who helped her.

They offer quite a few activities including singalongs at this community. The staff have been good with my loved one. They are patient and helpful. The manager is personable, remembers me when I come in. They are aware of what is happening with my loved one and make sure my loved one has everything they need. The community is clean and the grounds are nice.

This facility is nice and always clean and well kept. It has a small, close knit community which makes it homey and like family here. The staff is exceptional and they are always great and going above and beyond what is expected of them.

I have never been to Gracewood of Highland Park personally. My sister moved our mother in there just about a month ago. Though I have not seen the place or met the people in person yet, everything I hear from my mother and sister has been very positive. Everything seems to be going very good.

I looked for 6 months at several twin cities locations for my 97 year old grandmother. She always had such a negative opinion of "nursing homes" from where she had seen her friends go in the 80's and 90's. It was so hard to convince her to visit a modern care facility. But upon her first visit to Gracewood, she loved it! Although she was only there a short time, she was well taken care of. The staff was great, Jan and Anita in particular. And the chef was amazing, he not only cooked great food, but talked to all the residents and visitors. The value for our family within budget and consistent from month to month without any surprises, a huge plus for all the aunts, uncles, sons, daughters and cousins involvolved. Since Gracewood had just opened, the activities were just being implemented so I scored just a bit lower on this category.

They are doing a good job. It's very clean, the staff is very kind and attentive. She doesn't always like the food. So far it's all been fine, there really isn't anything specific I would like to see improved or done better.

I recently moved my mother to Comforts of Home Assisted Living - Riverside. She is very happy there. She receives just the right amount of services, yet is encouraged to remain as independent as she possibly can.

My father was in memory care for just under a year. The staff, from the house manager, to the chef, to the nurses, and especially the immediate caregivers, all treated my father and our family with the utmost care and respect. We never encountered or observed any staff that was less than professional. In fact, we were happy to observe the staff being kind and helpful and even giving hugs or holding hands with the residents. The staff worked with amazing dedication in providing services to my father during the last week of his life. They worked so well with hospice care. The staff's attention to my father's needs during the last week of his life was exceptional. We are forever grateful.

Overall we're very pleased with how things have gone at this community! It's a great looking place, everything is always very clean and well kept. The staff have all been very friendly and professional. My parents rave about how friendly and helpful the girls here have been for them! They've also got a good variety of activities in their memory care section. The biggest complaint they've had is that since the memory care unit is the last stop when it comes to meal delivery the food and coffee often arrive cold.

The staff at White Pine were very positive in way they cared for the old folks at white pine. they were cheerful and professional at the same time. My family member had a problem with being depressed. The folks that run White Pine helped her stay positive.

The staff and aids were very helpful and friendly. The house manager was nice, knowledge, and very professional in helping me fill out the paperwork. I feel that my Mom is safe in your environment.

At times they can be a little slow to respond, but at night they don't have the staffing that they do in the day. She complains that sometimes the wait times are longer than she would like. They seem to offer a lot in the activities department, they have a new activities director that seems to keep everyone very busy. It seems like they have quite a bit of turnover, but on the other hand the people that have been there since we've been there, have been really accommodating. There are some days one person may like the food but others don't. I would say in variety on the food it's a five. The building is only a couple of years old, and we liked the way it was laid out. The staff is friendly. If there were other people in my same predicament they would be impressed with them. It's at the lower end of the money scale than some of the places we looked at. There are enough residents there that you don't feel like you are just one person. There is a community room where people can come and sit and socialize.

It has taken about 18 months to convince my mother to leave her home of 70+ years and move to Assisted Living. She has been there for only a few weeks, but appears to be adapting well. She loves the food (especially since she does not have to cook it or do the dishes), the friendly staff, residents, and activities. She is eating better, sleeping less,and participating in life more. The staff including Tawnee, Kari, and Allie have been very supportive and welcoming from the first meeting. Mom even asked if we were taking her home as we left her house in northern MN.

What I like the most about the community is the friendliness. However, I don't know if I would recommend the community to others. I would recommend checking out other places too. I didn't do that.

Great place so far. We’re hoping to get mom in sometime in early November, after the TCU. Beautiful setting and everyone we’ve met are friendly and helpful.

My brother and I liked the philosophy of White Pine and liked how they center around what is best to keep memory care residents engaged and happy in whatever stage they are in. We have chosen to keep her in Duluth at this time though.

My brother was looking for a place that he could move into after moving back home from California, so time was kind of a factor. At the time that we toured here, there weren't any 1 bedroom apartments available and only studios so we weren't able to view the kind of apartment he wanted. It was okay. The facility had a nice common area and a nice library, but it felt more like a hotel than home. The staff seemed really nice, but we ultimately chose to go somewhere else.
