Most staff are friendly but what I don't like is that my mom is always missing things and clothes are disappearing. Food is good most of the time - menu seems to be repeated. I like that they include everyone or try to when they have activities.

The staff were exceedingly friendly and caring. Her room was adequate and clean. The neighborhood felt safe when we would walk Mom around the block. My only complaint was that their bus was not functional for residents for the majority of her year long stay there.

Staff seems pleased to work there. The facility is clean and well maintained. Lobby resembles a hotel. Staff is attentive to, and engaged with the residents.

Location, nice new facility, staff is friendly. They do seem to be understaffed so it takes more time than I expected to get needs met. Meals could be higher quality as well.

Nice people, but seems short staffed and sometimes hard to reach the admins. Also, community transportation bus has been inoperable for several months. The community was chosen because she liked being near the beach.

Employee are exceptionally trained, they accommodate to my food preference, health prepared with great quality. Food is great!

We had to transfer my Mother in Law from a senior living community to a more secure memory care facility. We were very fortunate to get her into Regency Palms. It wasn't a very easy move due to her advance stage of memory problems. [Name Removed] and her staff worked very hard during the first few days to get her stabilized and acclimated to her new surroundings. She is now doing great and thriving in her new home. She is very Happy and participates in all activities. Thank-you so much for helping us.

The Regency Palms is a well kept, if not posh assisted living facility that allows for a unique balance of both intimate and communal social interaction. Caregiving, kitchen, life enrichment, maintenance and management staff are attentive and responsive to resident/family concerns and requests

We moved my dad in [date removed]. The staff, from Admin to Aides helped tremendously and worked to get to know him and his needs in Memory Care. We chose this location for the courtyard and memory programs.

The staff members and the care services so far has been wonderful, we are very happy with everything at The Regency. I am from out of town so I am not sure what activities are going on, but I do know our loved one is really enjoying the meals and dining service. We got in at a really good value that we could not pass up, and overall this is a great fit for our loved one.

Overall I think they're doing a really good job. They just opened in February, so they're having some little hiccups, but I think that will continue to get better and better. I would say they still need to work on communication between departments. When we first started, they would call all the time to let me know about items my loved one needed. Which is fine, but I felt a certain urgency when they called. Then their memory care supervisor called and said they did have extras, but they would just need some more items in about a week or so. So initially it was very stressful thinking I wasn't providing enough care for my loved one on top of what they were providing. But I think they're doing a great job with her care overall. She had a fall, and they called me immediately and showed the appropriate amount of concern. I would definitely recommend them to others.

I stopped in and [Name removed] gave me a tour. Very professional. A beautiful, totally remodeled 9 story building. Reasonably priced for what you get. About $6,500 for two people. A beautiful view from their roof top patio. A little too close to bad neighborhoods, but very close to a very nice revitalized neighborhood with shopping and restaurants. My parents aren't ready to give up their independent living just yet, but maybe down the road.

Versus other communities I've visited and the one my mom is going to now, Regency felt more transactional in nature.

It is not as advertised as they normally do. I think management isn't very good. I would like to see more activities as the activities director spends more time on recertification than spending time with the residents and activities. They only had a RN for two months and then that individual quit, along with the previous person quit as well.

The staff is great, but they are severely understaffed. My mom fell numerous times there, and it was not discovered for hours. It could be a great place if they had double the staff. The facility itself is very nice As are the rooms. But it's not a safe environment for someone like my mom and she moved out a year ago

I would tell my friends what started out as a positive experience and turned out it wasn't a positive experience. My loved one ended up getting COVID, they had pressure spots on their feet. There was some personal items that are missing. They community is still billing me for the full month, even though my loved one has not been there for several months. I received a bill for the pharmacy because the community was ordering medications for my loved one, and I had to call the community to have this stopped. The community shouldn't have been ordering more medicine since my loved one wasn't there.

One of the hardest decisions you'll ever make is placing a parent or loved one in memory care. You trust that the care and safety promised will be delivered. When it isn't, the heartbreak and stress are overwhelming. Regency Palms is not the place for any type of care. Before choosing any facility, look at the California Department of Social Services site: [removed] Based on my family's experience, I cannot recommend Regency Palms Memory Care in Oxnard. A Place for Mom should do its homework before "recommending".

My friend of many years now lives in the memory care area. I have seen some very disturbing things like the caregivers being rough with the residents and their supervisor being ok with it. They have been reported but it's useless because they still treat the residents poorly. I visit with my friend in her room because it is upsetting to see.The good workers leave and the bad ones stay. They are just there to collect a paycheck. Make sure you do research before you place your loved one here.

I would tell others looking into Regency Palms Long Beach to make sure to do your research first.

My mother has been here in Memory Care for 1 year and what a stressing year it has been. I am there EVERY day!! This place is horrible!! The turn over is awful! There are a few good caregivers there but the new ones have NO clue!! The lack of training, care and compassion from the caregivers is awful! The lack of caring about issues and consequences from management is ridiculous! They didn't have activities for MONTHS or the scenic bus rides. The bus rides are down again! Most of the food is awful and COLD and you can't identify it it times! Hospital food looks better!! The food is left out, uncovered on the counters for hours! They have many falls from residents and there are medication errors, an error that sent my mother to the hospital!! Myself and many other family members are frustrated!! The patios are dirty, the place smells too often like someone is dirty. I have seen such a mental decline in residents due to the lack of interaction.. RUN from this place!!
