I have had many problems with and can't stand the director of this community. The staff treated the residents very well. If you don't have any sign of dementia it is a great place for your loved one. It is only about the money for the director. The corporate office was fair.

The staff at this community is nice. Dad is not happy though as they are remodeling the community and he is not getting any information about the progress of the remodel. There has been a recent ownership change. The director and maintenance people are always to busy to talk. The food is ok, however he wishes there was a little more variety. They offer some activities and they just hired a new activities director.

Folks found the hallway too long for my dad to walk with walker and elevator too small for wheelchair. They also don't want to pay for lunches they don't receive.

This is merely a summary: •Regarding quality of care--I am independent. •After living here only 3 months my rent was raised [fee removed] The second year my rent was raised [fee removed] . Another rent increase ahead [date removed]? •When it comes to safety there is only one set of elevators, which is totally inadequate in this size building. Worrisome the 1 set of elevators here, periodically break down and are out of order. • Elevator floors are unclean. •Overall the quality of this building, its construction, design, and its furnishings are of disappointing standards. •On the upside Fieldstone is within close proximity to my daughter.

I would be honest and let them know that most of their loved ones belongs would be missing after a month, that includes dentures and glasses, never to be seen again. My biggest problem was the RN. There was a discrepancy in his medication orders from the doctor and the medications I provided. She should have called me to ask and clarify what he should be talking but that didn't happen. He was off the medication from his admission. I had even ask the medication tech if he was still on it and was told he was, which was not true. Being a retired nurse I was very upset when I found out the truth. He ended up going to the hospital for over a week, coming out unable to stand, walk or feed himself and within a month had passed away. If you put a loved on in there YOU have to manage their care.

My loved one's experience at Cascades Chesterley was very poor. The memory care Director needed to have more communication with her care staff and with the doctor. I had to be there nearly every day.

Its funny, I do all the crafts, I have been for 1 year and 6 months, I buy everything myself, I ask for a craft room, residents love to do crafts, I have asked more than I can say, I get told sounds good and then nothing, I store it all in my apartment ( which makes [name removed] mad, but i have pride in what I do and it makes residents really happy.

it' has beautiful decorations, great art work, grand piano and fireplace in entrance lobby, seems very welcoming. the beginning it was a great place to live but before long, we realized there is no follow thru, lot's of promises and no action. lacking activities (blamed on Covid of course) one should wonder why many staff have left a new facility. it is my opinion that the main interest is renting the apartments, not the residents. it quickly had a feeling of living in a nursing home, not independent living. we moved out.

I would tell others not to put your loved one here. My mom has been here for a year and a half and they have been through 3 different directors and have a ton of turnover of staff members. The right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. I got a call yesterday from my mom asking for help and she said that they brought her lunch and opened the window and I told her I did not want the window open and she just left. I tried calling them and their phone number said that it was out of service so I had to drive down there. I would not recommend them to others who are looking.

I lived here for four years, and I loved it, until about a year ago. It changed, it was awful, so I moved. They wouldn't even listen to what peoples complaints were. The cook was awful, the spices were making me sick, and when my family would visit and eat they would get sick too. Everyone would complain, but they just didn't care.

I've tried to get the management to deal with the fact that the woman next to me is whamming her closet door at night when she gets home from playing pool. It's right on the other side of my bedroom wall and it's waking me up. I've just had surgery and I'm exhausted. She corners me in the hallways and tries to get some sort of anger response out of me. I have no desire to fight with anyone. No one else has that problem though. I liked it until the food qualit went down. It's just about the bottom of what you can buy prepackaged. Everyone gets house cleaning and that's been fine. The transportation has been good. I was upset when I came here because about 4 of the men had too much testosterone and were making too many blatant advances and I was very unappreciative of their attitudes. There are a lot of fine people here and a lot of fine staff but it's just not working for me. I think it works for a lot of people.

Worse than Bonaventure, that we couldn't wait to get away from.First month fine, but management cut the staff. So much for all the promises. The kids try their best, but there's one person on the 1st floor, my mom's floor, and she currently needs a 2-person transfer, per the hospital, because she fell, pulling a dresser on top of her, and breaking her pelvis. She got tired of waiting for someone to respond. We've waited up to 45 minutes for her to be taken to the bathroom. It has taken up to 25 minutes for the first one, then an additional 20 to get a second person. The first person stops the timer, so they will tell you this doesn't happen. It DOES.Then mom got a urinary tract infection, likely from waiting too long to go to the bathroom. The wait times are a joke and they wrote up all the kids, like it's their fault they are understaffed.Morale is low, & they want the kids in & out, with no talking to residents. Management ruined the place.Mom doesn't matter.Only $$$.We worry about safety.

A loved one moved to VKR in October of 2022 from Bonaventure after [name removed] (who had formerly worked at Bonaventure) convinced him to move. In November, the family discovered that [name removed] had accrued over $[removed] from him in the form of atm withdrawals (during COVID lockdown) and Zell transfers (over $[removed]). They also discovered payment for multiple plane tickets and use of his timeshare with [name removed] name as the guest (Florida, Palm Springs, and Hawaii). He was also on the family's phone plan where it was discovered that he and [name removed] would talk over an hour every day except weekends. Not only was this relationship inapproprite, but preying on an elderly person for money and gifts is unacceptable. After being reported to the state, [name removed] was suspended for only five days and allowed to come back to work at VKR after she returned $[removed] of his money. Upper staff was difficult for the family to work with, even with POA, refusing to give statements for tax purposes without the resident verbally okaying.

My loved one was previously a resident at Cascades Chesterley and the experience was overall terrible. On her third day at this facility, I found medication that she should have taken on the floor. The door going to the kitchen was filthy. I also found mold in her heating/ac unit. I would not recommend this facility to others.

This is not the place if you are looking for experts in dementia . If you’re lived one is comatose and in a wheelchair you could consider but they are not good with anyone else. Communication was poor at best once our dad was admitted . They talk a good game and look pretty but underneath that I wouldn’t deal with them.

not what the facility promises! look elsewhere if you CARE for your loved ONE. Been here 3 years with dogs and now that they are again under another Management company: Cascades Chesterley is trying to push us out - being they are desperate they say animal abuse, but have no evidence, in talks now with lawyer as I'm the only one with dogs here. Also diabetics don't come here, they don't OFFER food for DIABETICS either as promised even as I have asked the chef to make dishes diabetic person eats, not mashed potatoes but protein - wouldn't listen, NO help. Very UNDERSTAFFED, high turnover of employees. & rude to the elderly. Being I'm on medicare it's not easy to locate another facility but I'm currently looking. They want to put my dogs down as well. I wish I didn't come here, all promises like a politician, but NO follow through. DON"T LET YOUR LOVED ONE TO COME HERE. PROTECT THEM.

Field Stone gives a good first impression, but is terrible at communication. The front desk staff is nice but we only had the room cleaned once in 4 weeks and we had to pester them to make that happen. They always had an excuse. The menu was cut in half one week into our stay. No welcome. No orientation. No explanation about the restaurant reservation system - initially we just got horrible service. Later, once we learned we needed to make a reservation, we were denied many times due to Field Stone staffing issues. Their problems always became our problem. Field Stone was quick to kick my Dad out. First, they said he could not come back because of an antibiotic IV. Once removed, we had to continually ping Field Stone about returning only to hear they were "still waiting on paperwork ". Ultimately my wife got the paperwork for them as Field Stone would not assist. When they denied Dads return because of foot wounds, we had to move out. We moved into another Assisted Living facility where Dad's medical condition was not a problem. Field Stone kept saying they had to continually deny service because they lacked skilled resources. Their limits are not industry limits. Stay away from Field Stone unless you are looking for Independent Living with crappy food, terrible communication and absolutely zero help with anything. I would not recommend them.
