It's a very friendly staff at Carefield Castro Valley. They are anxious to do a good job helping residents. The food at this community is very good. We are happy with my wife's care at Carefield Castro Valley.

Toured this "luxury" facility, it is nice. But... while the base price is reasonable, the level of care my father needs, plus extra costs for this and that, it was a deal breaker. Too expensive for us.

Pet Friendly Community

Mom has been doing well here however she has been in and out of the hospital due to hip surgery so she hasn't spent much time here. She likes the place it is clean and updating. Mom loves being outside so the fact she has a private entrance to a secure patio is wonderful to her. Plus the fact its easy access for her cat to roam in and out and not have to worry about it being safe. Mom is happy with the meals they provide. With moms limited mobile issues, the staff has been helpful and accommodating to her physical limitations.

The quality has changed but I would still recommend

We found Park Visalia with the help of A Place for Mom, they were very helpful during our search and suggested new things we hadn't considered. I'm thankful for their service and they were easy to work with. When my father-in-law moved into Park Visalia the staff was very helpful and accommodating. His first couple of weeks were very good.He enjoyed the food and even had dining buddies. There has since been a personal change. The quality of the food has gone down and they run out of coffee and soups. The director and his nurse changed as well. I would have rated them a five but with all these changes the quality of the experience is now a 4. I would recommend them still.

A very nice community!

My tour of the Park Visalia went very well. The staff was all very friendly and knowledgeable. The place was clean, but it was assisted living as well as my mother in law is still very independent.

Two month review

Things seem some better since they have hired additional help. In beginning when help cord pulled it took way too long for help to respond . That seems better now, which is a huge plus. Most employees very helpful and courteous ..room cleanliness could be improved on tho!! Maintenance could step up a bit also...

Not Perfect But Nice

This a nice community. It is not perfect, but things are going good for my aunt so far here at Eden Villa. I chose this community because my aunt had visited it a couple years ago and liked it. The community is very amazing looking, and very clean no foul smells. The staff is kind and helpful I just wish they would be a little more encouraging with my aunt to get her to partake in the activities they offer. When I've gone and had lunch with her the food was good and I am a vegan and they accommodated my vegan diet so that was very nice of them to do. I would recommend this community to my family and friends.

Nice people, they just need to learn more

I've never experienced this before so i don't have anything to compare it to. There is things that I question. Maybe I expect more than I should. My father is the type of person that hates to ask. So if he doesn't ask they don't help. They didn't clean his bathroom for about 7 days. I wasn't really happy about that. I had a few talks with the director and they are really nice people. I just think that there is a lot they need to learn.

This seemed like a very nic...

This seemed like a very nicely run larger care home. I still prefer more of a 'home' atmosphere as I think my mom might get a little lost with so much and such large of a place. She would do better in a residential home. Carolyn was very sweet and nice to talk to.

Very Nice!

It was very nice. The people were just very nice and all that but there were some availability problems. We were looking for an apartment and there were only some studios available. At that point in time that we visited they didn't have any one bedroom apartment. They only had studios and we were in a time crunch to find a place for my parents.

Great!

The only reason I gave them a 4 is that my father-in-law has gotten out of bed several times during the night and fallen so I feel that during the night they could watch over him a little better. Otherwise everything is great. The food is good, he's had no complaints about that. The staff is friendly and they delt well with me and any of my questions.

A nice smaller place. Like the 'all inclusive' rate - no extra charges. They provide twin bed, end table, small dresser and chair. Three on waiting list as of 7-2.

Staff is friendly and helpful. I am not convinced enough effort was made to assist with eating or that the diapers were changed every 2 hours. I was paying for the highest level of care. I think her experience would've been more positive if she could communicate with all staff members. Although extremely hardworking, some of the aides do not speak English and that was hard on mom. The place is kept very clean and the staff are well meaning and attentive when items are brought to them. A few more people to assist so they can spend more one on one time would go a long way.

very nice, except for the food

Park Visalia is a very nice place. The staff is very nice and everything they do is very good. The one area where they really need to improve is the food. The food is not good at all, and has only gotten worse. Several people have complained about it. Hopeflly they will take notice and make some improvements soon. Everything else is very nice.

definitely disappointed and very much hoping for improvements!

The one thing that bothers me is that there is a huge turnover in staff at Park Visalia. There were four different directors last year and multiple changes with the regular patient care staffing, so I'm not feeling really comfortable about my husbands care at this point.

Extremely disappointed in this facilities lack of humanity

The residents and staff were very good. I would tell other families, that if they ever want themselves or their loved one to feel like an ATM Machine then this is the place for them. The staff was good but never had a management group made me feel like my mother was a paycheck and not a person.

Food needs improvement !!

My loved one was not to pleased with the meals they provided for her. The veggies were always over cooked and they needed more of a variety of dinner plates. The nursing staff needs improvement on there organization with medications, my mother did not have the correct medications for the first couple days because of their miscommunication.
