What we like the most about the community is their caring staff, the visual cleanliness and the sanitary smelling. Yes, we would recommend the Oak Leaf Manor North community to other families.

Family member recently toured and had a great experience with the sales person. Was a little put off by the administrator. He was scratching his side and touching his beard a lot. Other communities I’ve visited the administrators were kind and dressed professionally. These places cost a lot of money and i expect the person in charge to be very professional. We are considering communities in quakertown and Allentown areas but this wont be the community

It just isn't overall as wonderful as it seemed it was going to be when we had the initial sit-down meeting. Cleanliness issue- which they did take care of and were apologetic. Activities are lack luster. Sometimes you can't find any staff around, but, the staff are all fabulous, so nice and understanding. The room is like all rooms anywhere, I would say. If you don't have dementia you get more out of your stay. If you are open and friendly it is a better experience.

They need to understand they are not babysitters. They need to remember it is not a nursing home, but a retirement community.

The staff is very nice and listens to concerns. Seems like they may need more staff to take care of patients. Takes longer than 5 minutes to get someone to respond and sometimes had to hit the button more times. Had concerns where they didn't shower her for over a week the one time so you have to aware of what's going on so you can let them know. Had an instance where the bathroom toilet was left very dirty and had to bring it to their attention 2 times. My mom was only there 2 months and loved the gentleman on the second floor. He was always there to help her. They were very good at letting me know if something was out of the ordinary and they had to call 911.

They're going through personnel changes, which have resulted in some key differences between when we toured and the current reality. Most notable are a lack of onsite activities--especially cultural/educational, as well as hardly any offsite outings; few healthy food options (standard American diet of meat, cheese, sugar and alcohol with very few veg, gluten-free, raw/fresh, ethnic, etc. options); and poor quality maid service. I will say that the maintenance staff is responsive and helpful, the office staff and some of the assisted living staff seem friendly and hardworking, and the exercise programs are good. I would suggest giving the newer staff time to hopefully make improvements, especially if you are an active/healthier senior. Convenient location at Maple and Telegraph (although not safely walkable to much); competitive monthly rate; pretty setting and beautiful decor in the renovated sections; in-unit laundry; unassigned dining room seating and anytime dining service; active (former) activities schedule with former director citing more to come (i.e. community garden, book club, performances, restaurant outings, etc.).

No actual nurses on site over weekends. Evening shift too busy chatting with other staff members to pay attention to call buttons. Usually takes up 2 hours to answer on night shift. We have regrets. Activity personal are top notch!

Nice setting, many activities and activities leader goes out of her way to get residents out of the building, keeps them informed of activities and reminds them. Residents are involved in problem solving and idea sharing.

Very average to below average- would not recommend. Care staff not very friendly or responsive. Assistance wait time is unacceptable. Consistently waiting for >1-2 hrs for assistance when calling for help. Think about the fact that many of the residents are 100% dependent on the staff to assist to the bathroom or getting them to dining room. Not patient with people. They are way understaffed. Staff Refuse to wake up a resident after they have called and waited for assistance- wake them up they needed something.

My Dad was only there temporarily (twice). Attention from in-house doctor was not up to my expectations and we did not care for their new pharmacy (charged for things that weren't my Dad's).

My mother complains a lot about everything. She says that the food is bad, they lose a lot of clothing, not happy with the care, and I guess they have mice. Based off of our experience, I would not recommend Autumn House West.

My loved one was previously a resident at Autumn House East and the overall experience was okay. However, based on our experience, I would not recommend this facility to others. The aides were good, but the health nurse was not.

My experience has been more positive than negative. Bear in mind that I don't have a multitude of experiences with assisted living facilities; thus, my points of reference are severely limited... For example, during the initial transition from my mom's pharmacy to the facility's pharmacy, there were a few issues. Is that a problem? I certainly do not know. Perhaps it happens with a majority of new residents. I have no past experiences from which to draw an accurate conclusion. Staff is courteous and professional. Facility appears to be clean and well maintained. Food looks like it can use some attention, however mom has no complaints. I have no reservations in recommending the facility.

Would highly recommend to a loved one in need of low to mid level range of care. Though they accept those needing a high level of care, which is the case with my dad, his hygiene needs are not always being met to my satisfaction.
