Overall this is a wonderful, caring and welcoming place. Very considerate, careful staff who communicate frequently. It’s been very helpful as we transition our mother. Unfortunately they assessed Mom’s care needs level too low. They found out that she needed way more care than assisted living could offer within the next week. She has been relocated in another wing that will accommodate all her care needs now. It was slightly difficult to get my mother to understand why she was being relocated with her dementia diagnosis.

We were looking for the right place for our Mom and when we visited, we knew pretty much right away that this was it. The Gables is very clean, up to date, and warm. And the price is competitive. Professional and friendly staff that are always available for questions. Would recommend to anyone with a loved one who needs extra care and is very particular.

I've recommended The Gables of Canton to several people because they care about their residents. The facility is beautiful and well maintained, and the staff is courteous. I'm glad I moved my father there - I have no regrets !!

It's roomy, many areas where residents can spend individual time or visit with other residents without being alone in their rooms all the time. Quality of food is very good. I think it is very homey.

The staff overall are very kind and helpful. My mom never had anything bad to say about them. Management was sadly not very responsive to requests. That's my only negative comment to add.

Facility has large windows in common living room and I nice veranda for sitting outside when the weather permits. Also, it's nice they have a beautician on site once a week. The activities director is great. Improvements- sometimes, especially on the weekends, there is a strong urine smell . Maybe cleaning services aren't available on weekends? Some aides are more conscientious than others with making the bed properly, keeping Mom's clothes organized in her closet, etc.

Staff was, for the most part, average to above friendly, courteous, helpful. The meals were averaged to slightly below average. Residents did not receive fruit and vegetable at each meal, which I found disappointing. For the most part, the staff was very helpful and very friendly. We had a few instances of minor theft or disappearances of items. Not high in dollar value but just a nuisance. Unsure as to whether this was staff related or other residents. Housekeeping was slightly above average. I would recommend this facility to others.

We picked this community because of the price and staff was friendly and the building smelled good. Also very close to home.They were helpful and friendly. They answer any questions I have in a timely manner.

Aids and staff are really friendly and willing to help. The meals vary quite a bit and are balanced. Administration is easy to work with. We picked this community because it was smaller, wide hallways, and less expensive.

Some of the rooms are not big enough to be shared rooms. My mothers room smelled a little musty. ( we had to put some fresheners). Overall, very good experience.

I love the place. The people (staff and residents) are all very friendly. It is a big facility. All of the staff are helpful. Everything so far has been good. I would recommend Autumn House East to others looking for independent living.

Overall Sunrise of Rochester was a great place, and the staff is very kind and friendly. The only issues we had were with them responding to my mom in an appropriate amount of time. Especially when she needed assistance using the restroom. I'm sure that was staffing issues.

It is a home away from home. It is not home, but it is the best alternative I have.

The more educated family become about Dementia or Alzheimer's, the more they can extract from the care there. My father in-law was difficult he was very violent but Alzheimer's can have that effect on a small minority. I found the Gables staff especially [name removed] the head nurse very helpful especially as [name removed] was passing. I was there with him and everyone worked together to let him pass quietly and with dignity.

My mother is a resident at Autumn House East and the experience has gone very well, so far. The staff is very friendly. The resident rooms and the hallways are clean. My mother seems to enjoy the meals. I would recommend Autumn House East for Assisted Living placement.

Cleanliness can be improved by taking soiled linen/clothing to the laundry each time instead of leaving it sit in the laundry basket in dad's room. Based on the experience we have had so far with Vintage Knolls we would absolutely recommend them to other families looking for community for their loved ones!

We toured with Oak Leaf Manor North and it was just ok, we noticed that it seemed to be very crowded and it also smelled. Those were the main reasons we did not choose that facility.

I appreciate the staff at Sunrise of Bloomfield. They are very nice and helpful. And they respond quickly to any concerns. Biggest area for improvement is the food.

I really do think they try to make everyone feel welcome. From Day 1, they would call my brother by his name which I know made him feel good! Nursing staff is good with meds, they have a few that there have been issues with, but honestly if you talk to the head nurse, she takes care of it. I would say that I email them if I have any concerns and they are very good at addressing them!

My family and loved one had an average experience at The Gables of Canton. The everyday care staff were very friendly, and knew what was going on. We encountered issues with the third part Medical Care, as they came when the Nurse Practitioner was visiting our loved one. We would recommend that you or your loved one continue care with your primary care doctor that you have had, instead of using the contracted physician group for the community.
