Brookdale

Staff at BrookDale are very helpful and informative and kind. My dad fell and broke his back so needed assisted living- and was very hesitant about the transition but they eased his fears quickly and have taken great care of him for the last month. We are so grateful for their ability to make him feel at home- even in such a huge change of life.

On behalf of my brother I would rate this community a "5"... The staff is fantastic. The facility is quite nice...very clean and gives a very welcoming feeling as soon as you walk in.

The response to our inquiry was fast and very comforting. We had two good appropriate choices to visit in only one day!

Mom and dad are well cared for. Everyone is caring and patient and treat the residents like family.

The staff has been great so far with updates and daily care of my aunt. I would recommend this facility. They have been on key so far.

My Father’s initial expectation was that an indepening facility would diminish his independence and he was proven wrong his first week. The reality is quite different because the atmosphere is energetic. There are always activities, events, entertainment and clubs that many residents are engaged in. The staff is exceptional and many already know him by name. During the transition they helped guide us through veteran benefits that we didn’t even know existed. This facility sdent livo far has been a fantastic choice and has truly exceed our expectations.

I cannot begin to express how lovely, competent, caring, understanding, skilled, and more, everyone has been to my mother and family ... Any minor thing I needed was taken care of immediately and respectfully, no question ... The skilled nursing staff and administrators are readily available and handled my concerns at all times, day or night. I was kept informed of every change occuring with my mother's health and wellness. The caring shown for and given allowed me to find peace and comfort. I should say the same amount of time and care given to my mother ... was given to our family ... to me. We feel blessed to have found this "home" for her. Thank You!!!

Brookdale Wekiwa has provided good care for my mother and great accommodations. It's costly but she loves it. A great community of residents and a variety of activities to keep residents engaged.

The experienced and dedicated professionals made an impression during our initial tours and continue to deliver courteous & prompt service during and after move in. In the several months of residency the facility and staff continue to exceed our expectations.

My dad was at end stage of his life and needed more care than assisted living. The food staff made extra effort to assist. The director provided her cell number in the event we need to escalate an issue. Very approachable and friendly. The director tried to work within our budget.

Appreciated them finding a discounted room for my dad saving us $[removed] a month so thanks. Would recommend.

Of course the folks who live there all have dementia/Alzheimer’s and so the staff clean and clean but there will be smells and accidents. While staff can get frustrated with each other, they never take it out on residents and they generally try to work together as a team. The staff who work there have a VERY hard job and I appreciate each of them and what they do for my mother!!

They are caring and helpful......always considerate and professional. Easy to make friends with other residents and lots of activities to keep you active. They keep the family informed at all times.

Overall, very pleased - 5/5. The residents seem genuinely happy, and several have shared positive comments with me directly. One resident, who is still quite lucid, told me, "I hate having to be in a place like this-but if you have to be somewhere like this, this is a really good place." The staff are kind, responsive, and helpful, and the food is excellent. You can truly taste the care and effort the chef puts into every meal. The main downside has been a lack of transparency regarding the costs. We ended up paying significantly more than what was initially quoted, which has been frustrating. I strongly recommend that others review the contract carefully-word for word-and be mindful of how certain fees are worded, as some charges were not clearly communicated upfront.

Very clean and helpful. If they can handle their own medicine, that is the only plus I will add. NC state very strict and they stay to the letter. A lot of programs are offered.

Over all experience met all of dad's needs - beautiful, spacious one bedroom; respectful, conscientious care givers; excellent director of nursing. Evidently, Bingo is lots of fun. The only complaint from my father is about the food, but then he is a picky eater.

Staff has Always been friendly,courteous and respectful and helpful. The facility is very clean and the mood is uplifting and cheerful. They are willing to help and make my brother comfortable. Since he has been a resident he smiles more often. Everybody greets me anytime I visit. They have scheduled a lot of activities and events to keep him active.

It is a beautiful facility with lovely, helpful staff. I would recommend Brookdale Niskayuna to others who are searching for a place for their loved one.
