Great location, great town, lots to do. I love building on one story and they have lots of green space. The landscaping is great. We don't hear much from the administration. The food is really good. Activities rarely take place and are very limited. They need to update the lounge and get new furniture.

My family member has been a resident for a few years. Somerby has always been a clean, charming, inviting place to live. There are many activities and opportunities for socializing and engaging residents. Quality cultural programs are offered on site and off. The dining room is an added touch of elegance and offers a variety of delicious meals. Recently I witnessed a renewed emphasis by all staff to deliver compassionate care. I highly recommend Somerby of Mount Pleasant independent living for a family member who needs a safe, comfortable, caring home.

My mother recently moved from the Garden to the senior living side, she had done so well and others felt , too, that she did not belong in The Garden side. Now, she could use a little more assistance, She doesn't know where to go or what to do after her meal times, She is also have trouble putting her key in the door, I am going to suggest maybe black marker or finger nail polish on the side up of the key she is to put in the door, Also, she needs to be taken to the bathroom more, she had several UTI's while she was in the Garden and of course, this caused terrible confusion.

The first few months seemed fine but I was in SC and visiting regularity. When I returned unannounced a few months later my sister was not clean, her fingernails were 1/2 inch long. Her room was messy. Her shower was dirty. She is in the memory care unit where the patients are not able to communicate well. They said that she did not want to take a shower and they could not force her. It took me a very short time to get her to shower. I think that the people in memory care should have the skills to get someone to shower. I expressed my discontent to the staff and they made some excuses and seemed to be attentive. I am concerned because I had to return home. I told them I would be back in a few weeks and I will return unannounced and hope things are better.

We took a tour at The Terrace at Chestnut Hill and really liked it. If it had been located more centrally between my siblings and me, we may have chose this place for my loved one. The people were great, and I liked that they seemed to have reasonable price and payment options available.

The staff at here are very friendly, caring and so welcoming. They have been working with my mother-in-law encouraging her to take part in the activities. She does like going to the dining are for her meals but would like to see some changes in what they serve for lunch instead of the same thing over and over. Hamburgers get old fast. I would recommend this community because the staff was so welcoming to us.

My aunt only had to be at this community for a few weeks and she really made a lot of improvements from being in there care. They really helped her regain her strength back and help her get in too the routine of taking her medications everyday. The only complaint I had is there seemed to be a lack of communication between the sales person and the administration. They had messed up our billing a couple times.

They are remodeling the kitchen so the food comes in a takeout container and you do not always get the food you asked for. There is an exercise place within walking distance. I am a little disappointed that I have yet to meet the new director since we moved in. They do not yet offer any community activities. We are looking forward to things improving once the remodeling is completed.

The Elmcroft was a pleasant community. The staff was very nice and treated me well during my tour. They did not offer me meals during my tour. The memory care unit was nice in this facility, while we were walking around there was a birthday party going on in one of the rooms and the residents have a mixture of activities.

This review is about the Estate at Franklin. The facility is nice. Be careful during the sales process because they will tell you things that are not exactly honest to get you to sign the papers. The activities are nice, the residents seem to love the activities director, and they also take nice trips to Walmart and other places which does make the residents happy. The menu and food is not very good, all residents complain about the food, the Estate at Franklin needs to get much better at that. The staff seems very disorganized and overwhelmed and cannot keep up, many commitments are not kept, communication is lacking after the sales process, and I think management needs to fix that asap. Many residents are considering going elsewhere. Overall I do like the Estate at Franklin, but may move to another one soon if they do not get better at the items listed above. Really do like the facility and hope they can straighten things out. Obviously this is anonymous.

Somethings are good and some aren't so good. There were some things they were going to get done, that haven't yet. I don't have any concerns about how clean it's kept. The first week we had an issue with one of the care managers, everyone else has been very nice. The common area could use a little more light, and perhaps some matching couches. They were very good about staying on top of the medication and they are good with communication. We liked the location. There have been some little things that took a while to get set up. The director of the dementia unit is lovely, and the other people are nice.

We had a bit of a rocky start here, but now that my loved one is settling in and I am getting used to how they operate I think things are going to go very well. The facility itself is beautiful, and the aide staff take wonderful day-to-day care of Mom. She says she really likes the food here, as well! They have a lot of different types of visiting doctors, which is very convenient. However, I do feel a little out of the loop when it comes to their in-house doctors. When we started using them they prescribed a medication, and I didn't even know she was taking it until much later, I would have liked to have been told. When we first moved her in there was a mix-up with her medication as well, so that is something to double-check if you decide on this place for your loved one. But overall it seems very nice, and I think Mom will do well here!

The care is terrible. It sometimes takes 30-60 minutes before they respond to my sister's pendant. Meals are NOT prepared by a chef. & meals are Not very good. There is no wheelchair ramp from the sidewalk to the driveway. It says you can adjust your own thermostat. Not true, you can only adjust it up or down 3 degrees. Brochure says new residents will have a welcome team assigned to help them adjust. It did not happen. Room size is good. Often my loved one will buzz 8:30-9am & they won't get her up until 10am. Same issues when buzzing to go to bed. Schedules: shower, wake up, bed time, laundry, sheet changes are not adhered to. Management are nice. But management told me one thing about payment due & then the invoice I got from business office was higher.

The staff has experienced major turnovers since March - upper staff just before my Mom moved in (so they were learning their new positions)and then again when Somerby was evidently bought by a national chain - not sure when, as they didn't tell us, and then a change of the overall director, who had us refill out the protocol paperwork which we had just filled out in March. They also could not produce the signed ACH form by which they are withdrawing monthly from Mom's account (we needed it to apply for Veterans Benefits). The staff which most affects my Mom's Somerby experience, the understaffed, undertrained, underpaid assistants, have almost weekly turnover. Weekend hires seem to be reliably sub-par. Their inability to answer questions about what meds they are handing my mother, lack of proximity to prevent falls when they are sent to her room for that purpose, and lack of response to any one of my Mom's 3 call buttons late one night. have all worked together to undermine my mom's confidence that they know what they are doing. The dining experience, which they bragged about when we were touring, underwent a major change under new management, with many disappointing experiences since. We are blessed if a conversation with my mom has a few moments of "I am fine" before launching into recounting whatever change or staff interaction has confused or made her feel vulnerable.
