What I appreciated the most was the affordable cost of care. I wish they paid more attention to hygiene. But the staff is great at calming the residents down during meltdowns.

Most staff and other residents are very friendly. My apartment is good-sized for my wife and me. We're in independent living, so much of what we have needed so far has come with a fee--transport to medical appointments, someone to stay with my wife when I have to go out, an upgrade from Dish Network tv to Comcast tv.

I do understand that the staff is trying to take care of all the patients. Some days seem better than others, in reference to care of residents & the facility. Sometimes everyone is nice & friendly, & sometimes if I ask a question they seem like it's a bother. I think Milestones is always clean, & staff goes out if their way to be helpful & friendly. They take really good care of the patients. Upstairs, not always.... Sometimes floor in the room not clean, & tables in community room sticky & not that clean. Some workers very helpful & friendly, some others, not that interested in answering QS of the family. Overall, it seems inconsistent. Like I said, some days better than others. And I do understand they are all trying to get their job done.

Big apartments, nice views and beautiful grounds. The staff could empty trash in the apartments every day and mop floors once a week. The staff very friendly and make a point to call you by name. When it comes to the activities, the staff goes around to apartments to let us know if a movie is playing, activity going on, or if it's happy hour. Food is horrendously awful. Have spoken to the person in charge of dietary with no change. Spoke to the overall director who seemed concerned but no changes. Having a food committee meeting on [date removed]. We will see if anything can be accomplished!!!

Overall, Springfield has great potential once they get the staffing they need. Most of the staff are very friendly and caring. They interact positively with the residents and are understanding of their needs. With additional staff (and on-site security) the ratings would be much higher. There is a need for more trained staff or training in general at the facility. Especially in food service. Their seem to be a need for organization in food management. The on site menu does not always reflect what is available to be served. The Director does have regular meetings with residents to get their feedback/complaints and try to address them. would recommend it to other families for consideration.

They tell you what you want to hear while there, received a bill for we don't know what & can't get a call back to answer our questions about this bill. I took care of every amount they requested & she owes nothing so would like to understand this bill, we called 4-5 times & no return call. The food is out of a can & bag they don't have cooks just people following directions. Smoke detectors on first & second floors have bin chirping for a month. [name removed] is paying over [fee removed] a month because their doctor thinks she needs meds that her personal Dr didn't find & they have to administer them

Unfortunately I would say it wasn't a good situation for loved one personally. She declined rapidly there and it was torture for me realizing the care wasn't going to be what I'd hoped. But in the end, I know they did more than they were obligated to, and I am grateful to them for what they did do for my loved one.

Our family had an in person tour with Springfield Senior Living and we really enjoyed the admission person at the community, but the community just seemed to be pretty run down, old and dark. We do however recognize it is a real challenge to adapt or upgrade an old or historic building.

I didn't see any residents or interaction with the residents. This may have been due to COVID.

I wouldn't recommend the community to others for their loved ones. This isn't a friendly place, as residents stay in their own rooms. There isn't a lot of socialization between residents. The food is low average, and there is a weekly menu available. The grounds are beautiful and the apartment is lovely.

Make sure you check in on a consistent basis, because even the people who handle the money had things incorrect. They never contacted me when my loved one stopped paying her rent, so they sent me a huge bill after she passed. If they had contacted me, I could have intervened and made sure they got their money. Unfortunately over the last 4 yrs, they've gone downhill. They've changed directors every single year. There are more young people on staff, and with young people come young people problems, for instance you say hello and they just look at you. However, most of the staff are very courteous and friendly. For the most part they were gracious and nice. I wish they had communicated better though. They did not let me know there was Covid in the building, and the first I heard was when they told me my loved one was having breathing problems and needed to go to the hospital. The food was excellent. It was flavorful and didn't taste like diabetic food all the time. They served it with linen cloths on the table, and you could order off the menu. All in all it was a pleasant experience. They dealt with my loved one's memory issues very well. She was a force to be reckoned with, and they just rolled with it. They made sure she was moved to a secure part of the building when she figured out the codes to the elevator. They couldn't have handled that part of her care any better.

We chose this facility because of the location, the cost, as well as during the tour it seemed nice. He was in a semi room, and they were a good size. The food here was pretty good, he never complained. I would want people to know that they offer a nice area outside for the residents, but they never have the door open as they want someone out there with them to supervise. So the residents rarely get to sit outside unless you have a visitor. My brother was on the younger side, so they did not have a lot of activities for the younger crowd.

My dad wasn’t here for very long but in the short time that he was there, there were a few issues I had run across. The staff always seemed to be short and they never seemed to have enough help. They were able to answer most questions, but if there was anything that I needed done that had to do with a doctor, they would become almost unresponsive. It took me over 2 weeks to get answers that I needed and that only happened AFTER I talked with the executive director. My dad had Alzheimer’s and the food they would feed him felt inappropriate; they would give him things like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and they always told me he would only eat half or a quarter of his meal. But anytime I went, he would eat everything and it felt like that was the only time he’d actually get a meal. The cleanliness of the facility was satisfactory. They have things like bingo, entertainers, and movie nights to keep everyone active and all of the other residents seemed to be pretty friendly. The only reason we wound up choosing Manatawny Manor was because it was within driving distance of my mom. I don’t think this was worth the money that it costs. My dad needed more one on one care and attention and it felt like they weren’t willing to do that. My mom is going to need a home eventually and I won’t be bringing her here.

The staff seem nice at this community. My only issue is that dad has not seen the doctor since he moved in. The community is clean and he seems to like the food. The rooms are a good size and nice. I did talk to some of the residents before dad moved in and they said they liked it here.

Overall the general care is okay. Sometimes there are not enough staff to get medication or anything we need. It takes awhile for someone to get to my mom. It would be nice to not wait long. The meals are not gourmet but it is pretty good. It took a while for them to communicate to the staff to have her meals cut up.

We toured this community while looking into care options for a loved one. I wasn't a fan of Manatawny Manor. It just felt very clinical, not warm or welcoming. It had the feel of a nursing home rather than an assisted living community. It just wasn't somewhere I thought my loved one would be comfortable living.

Nice enough facility, only saw the first floor but it seems well cared for, floors were recently redone. Lots of activities, nice daily events with transportation available for offsite visits. I had a quick visit and was invited to come back with family member. Seem very accommodating.

Springfield Residences is a nice enough place, overall, but I do think there are a few areas they could work on to really improve the experience. The facility itself is clean and well kept, and the staff are friendly. One of my biggest issues is with the meal service. The food is not the best, and they often list things on the menu that are not actually available. The dining staff also seems a bit shorthanded, it can take a long time to be served. They are also a bit slow when it comes to respond to maintenance issues, sometimes you have to stay on top of them to get things fixed.

Sometimes the staff has attitudes, and does not seem to be compassionate with the residents. They are not helpful with, resolving issues with care concerns. They are not delivering the services, that they promised. They don't seem to check on myloved one as often. It has been a very dissapointing experience. There is not too many options with the food. The food is terrible, always bland, which is simiiar to institutional food. It is canned food, and they don't seem to care about my loved ones food preferences. On a positive note, my loved ones room is clean, and they are always well groomed.

My family member was recently at this facility for rehabilitation to help her return home. The facility was over all nice, most of the employees seem to be very helpful, the food was good with plenty of choices to pick from if your family member preferred something other than what was on the menu, there was plenty of activities to engage in and they provided church services every Sunday. The reason I will not and do not recommend placing your family member in this facility is the experience we had with a nurse that was very rude during my family members stay. Not sure 100% what her name is but she is an older woman with brown hair to her shoulders is the best description I can give. Beware of her if you are planning on placing your family member in this Assisted Living.
