We chose The Blake because they were able to able handle dads insulin the way that he needed it to be done. The facility itself is very clean and the staff have all been super friendly and accomdaioting. I have already recommended this facility to someone I know and her loved one will also be moving in here soon.

The nursing staff is great -- very responsive and kind to the residents. [name removed], the executive director, is very responsive and engaged. The location is also great because of its proximity to stores and restaurants

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The facility is spotless, the food is good. They have activities, but not that many.

This has been a great move for our love one, having moved her from [community name removed]. Her personal care is much more focused and maintained. Her medical care and attention is maintained, resulting in her being more calm and cooperative. I would recommend this place as a first option.

The facility is great, and there seems to be a larger group of active residents than other facilities we have experienced. Most issues we have encountered have been due to turnover of caregivers which seems to be typical in this industry. That said, turnover at The Blake is better than the other two facilities she has been in. Overall, very pleased.

The Blake is beautiful and the staff is very kind and friendly. My mother loves her room. She is enjoying the activities. The only problem we seem to have is medical. It took awhile to get her medicine straightened out. Then they would come very early in the am and late at night with her meds and wake her up. She just came down with Covid, they said they would get her medicine for it and order an x-ray as she has COPD. She never got the x-ray and she didn't get the medicine until 3 days later. Because of that she may have to be quarantined for an extra day.

Our only concern was that once we moved Mom into Memory Care we were on our own to figure out everything about The Blake. It would have been so comforting to have a person assigned to us or an orientation meeting to explain the ins and outs of The Blake so we could ask questions rather than us having to ask the Techs who we should talk to with our concerns. Everything was eventually resolved but those first two weeks were a bit chaotic for us. After two months Mom is settled and happy at The Blake and we feel she is being well taken care of.

I feel the staff really mean well and try, but communication is lacking. Maybe due to being understaffed. Food probably needs to be healthier and non processed. Activities there is a problem with lack of communication. As for instance residents that loose track of time or time blindness, they should go and get them out of their room for activity. Some days are truly better than others. Then you have to bite your tongue not to say anything.

We love the Blake. We just wish it wasn't so expensive.

The food quality and taste have gotten worse over the last six months. My dad informed me that he was served a seafood gumbo with no seafood. He is finding smaller quantities of food and little seasoning. I have considered taking him to look at other places. He doesn't want me to complain but agreed I could if I was asked. Great people. They take good care of him. The only issue is the food. It was fantastic when we first moved him in.

Facility and staff are excellent, everyone is very friendly and greets us when we come. All know our resident and what she enjoys and doesn't enjoy. Housekeeping is well maintained and laundry is done frequently. Communication with the family is spotty. I would like to receive the monthly activity calendar via email and an occasional personalized email about what my mother in law has been doing, it would be appreciated. The move in process was easy and assistance was offered, if we needed it. The food is good and variety is always available. Some items can be made even when not listed. With the number of residents it has become more difficult for some staff to recall some meal items my mother in law will eat when she struggles to decide. Price hike for coming months on an already high rate for the facility. Basic necessities are not provided with monthly charge (soap, toilet paper, shampoo, etc), decreasing the value of facility. I would recommend this facility with caveat that it is expensive.

Our family had an in person tour with The Blake at Woodcreek Farms and overall we had a good tour experience but our loved one was not going to be excepted into the community

The Blake was very nice, especially since it is new!!! However, I hadn't hit the lottery yet when I toured the community and I felt is was way out of my price range.

The facility is beautiful and new, the food was excellent....chef was great and accommodating. I felt the individual attention to my Dad was not always given as promised. There were a few times I had to follow up with administrators for follow through. The respite fees are expensive but it is a nice facility with a positive happy vibe. Some of the facilities I toured were pretty depressing .

I liked The Blake at Hamlin very much. The facility was very clean. They had lots of activities. It seemed like a nice place and was our #2 choice. It was just a smaller community than were were looking for and was less ideally located (not as close to stores/restaurants, etc.).

We love The Blake at New Braunfels community and the nurses are the best. My dad is doing very well and pleased with his new place. Thank you so much for helping us find the right place for our loved one

This is the place to be if you have higher level of care needs. We love the staff. The whole community is good. They've had trouble with staffing in several departments. Housekeeping especially, but they do a great job keeping up. As far as the food, mom says dinner isn't always great, but lunch is. If chef is there, it's great. One downfall, they don't have a pool. But I will say, mom really came to life in this place. She always has something to do and there is a variety of activities to choose from. However, the activities director for her unit is leaving. He's amazing and very fun, even just to talk to. Replacing him won't be easy. We've been told that the director from the Memory Care unit is taking over and will run the activities for both units. I'm concerned about their ability to keep up with both, but we'll see. I feel comfortable and like mom is always safe here. Even during the hurricane, mom was safe and they did a great job staying in contact with us. I have and absolutely will continue to recommend them to family and friends.

We liked the community. The residents were a little more advanced than where my loved one was at.

The Blake at Woodcreek Farms is an absolutely beautiful facility. It is bigger with very tall ceilings which makes it feel grand. The price was higher here, but that did not deter us. The only downfall was the location was too far from me and I felt she needed a smaller environment.

The cleanliness of the community could use a little bit of improvement, but one of the best things about The Blake is the meals and dining service. The staff members are excellent, they are so friendly to everyone. They do offer a lot of activities, and the value for cost is excellent.
