A Place for Mom has scored Beztak Properties with 7.9 out of 10 using our proprietary review score based on 21 reviews in the last 2 years. Over all time, Beztak Properties has 166 reviews with an average "overall experience" of 4.3 out of 5.
We were pretty disappointed when we first moved in, but we are starting to fit in. The room seemed smaller than the one they showed us originally. Once we got there, we realized the electrical outlets were missing, there are no outlets for phone or television, in the bedroom. We had to get wireless transmission which cost us some money. The food is good, and that has helped, it has been consistently good. There is a lack of activities, it seems like the main activity is talking. There aren't any separate room for activities. It's clean, and the staff is very good. You can't walk anywhere, though, nothing is close, you have to take a bus, and they limit you to five miles, after a ten mile round trip they start charging money. We chose them based on the room we saw, and we didn't get one like that. The patio for our room is quite small and has no room for furniture.

The staff isn't always responsive to concerns or issues. They don't give you everything that your rent covers. It is a nice place, they have a lot of things available.

There is an exit fee if you leave for other than health reasons. I left for health reasons but still had to pay an exit fee. The food was okay. The room sizes are good, I had a two-bedroom unit. They charged for putting up safety devices and for taking them down.

My sister was pretty happy with the staff at the community. She thought the food was good, I would recommend this community to other families who are looking. My sister's apartment was nice and it was spacious.

While the facility is beautiful, the food and dining room service is horrible. My mom sometimes waits well over an hour for substandard food. Often, she leaves the dining room without eating because she doesn't want to wait any longer. Turnover of staff is high - the dining room is therefore understaffed and not trained. Management is aware of this problem and does nothing. All Seasons seems to care more about landscaping (to attract new residents, I assume) than providing the dining services it has promised. I feel the owner is opportunistic, taking advantage of seniors by charging high rent that includes dining services that are not delivered, while raising her rent 40-50% while she's lived there. My mom is afraid to complain for fear her lease will not be renewed. Moving for anyone, especially for people in their 80s-90s, is not an option. And a timely and consumable meal for seniors is critical, so I've written this review in the hope that the owner will direct the appropriate funds necessary to run an acceptable dining room.

I have no complaints of how things had went for my tour of this community for my self. The staff where wonderful to work with and did a great job with the presentation. The property was clean and I liked all of the amenities they had for the residents. It was just not the right fit in the end decision.

I have lived here for 2 weeks. I really really love my apartment. Nothing about it that I don't like..... however, the food and service of it is really really BAD. I am not a pickey eater so that has nothing to do with it. Over half the people that I have talked to agree with me on this Everyone talks about it but not many go to whoever is in charge of the kitchen and food service.... I took it one step further aND had them look at the plate and tell me if they thought it even looked appetizing. Even they had to agree that it was anything but attractive.

I have been at Casa Del Rio, Peoria for a little over 6 months and I must say I expected better. The grounds are well kept and the staff is friendly. But they have two conspicuous problems. MAINTENANCE REPAIRS--- On 3 different repair work orders, a broken folding shower bench, an A/C water leak, and an out of order washing machine, it took 5 - 10 weeks to complete each repair. DINING ROOM SERVICE--- The quality of food has improved, but it is not uncommon for it to take an hour or more to be served the food you ordered. The wait staff has little or no training. There is a definite lack of organization in the dining room. During July, I resorted to take-out orders, 11 of 14 orders were either wrong orders or were missing something. Casa Del Rio has a long ways to go to be that perfect Retirement Home.

I would Not recommend!' I moved my mom [date removed] out of Monarch. Executive Directive is not accessible to staff or residents. The memory care Director does not make staff accountable, lack of training for staff, no dementia training. Staff smoking weed outside and then the memory care smells like weed. Mom's room was always dirty, trash not taken out, not provided toilet paper. You don't get to meet or have access to the nurse. I am a nurse and with in health administration experience. My mother had a readmission due to not getting medication. I got called to get over the counter medication to take care of my mom. I did meet with the Executive Director and Director. I tried to work with them and just got worse. My mother is now thriving at a new location.

I am laughing at some of the recent reviews == it must be reviews written by the people that run the place. The food is a joke -- they can barely make chicken! God forbid if you want to bring food back to your room == there is barely enough there for a meal and they charge you extra unless you get it yourself and then [Removed] has a fit if you ask for anything else. "Mom" loves it? right, either honey you are just happy your mom is somewhere where you do not need to take care of her or you haven't asked her

If I had to do it all over again, I would have gone somewhere else. I love my friends here, but the staff leaves a lot to be desired. Bottom line is they treat us like we "owe" them, and trust me they are squeezing us at every turn. Food had gotten cheaper, (like sloppy joes) really? this is the dinner special? Rent for me and my friends go up a lot faster then they had told us at signing -- you start off with a decent price but then year after year it goes up exponentially. We need a new games director, this guy needs to either take a class, step it up or step out. They keep signing up new people that should not be in independent living and it affects the rest of us. I find myself sad more often than I am happy these days and my neighbors feel like I do -- it seems like they keep taking things away -- I have had enough taken away in my life can they just try to be nice?

The place, aesthetically, is very nice == but the people that used to make this place a caring place have just about all left and from the Director to the "activities" person are awful == they really do not care about the residents and take advantage of them, things are [Removed] and the Director never reports them to the police or takes any action. Everything has cheapened, the food is all frozen (never fresh) and cheap things -- hamburgers, hot dogs -- the steaks are off the menu -- for what we pay it is a [Removed]. We have taken our grievances to management and they do nothing -- the point is .. they just do not care, they have our money and they just brush everything off ... let us enjoy our final phase of our life, this place is stressful

This is one of the smallest places we visited. Neat and clean but there was an odor to the place. While the apartments had been renovated, I felt like I was in a basement, even when on the second floor. All the common areas are very small.

Food service has been a problem. Nutrition is not addressed very well, the kitchen was torn down for 6 weeks for floor and pipe upgrades. Now we are confined to our rooms and dining room is closed due to coronavirus scare. So again only two choices are available at each meal, instead of the full menu.

Pea brain staff that could care less about the residents. [name removed] is the worst she almost mocks us. From the front office of the least caring (the big boss) to the dining room manager that refuses to open a can of veggies for our salads for over 3K a month, open a 50 cent can of veggies or let us have cheese on our salads. It stinks. No one cares here -- and it can all be summed up to the fact that the big boss does not care she just keeps raising rent and taking away privledges, snacks and what I call happy time. We need a class action suit for breach of contract

Disappointing. We moved in 2 years ago and what a difference a couple of years makes -- it has gotten more and more disappointing -- rent goes up and everything else goes down and the worst part is no one listens to the residents. The management acts like we owe them and we are the ones paying. I want to move and I know several of my friends here feel the same way and when management learns you are unhappy watch out for retribution -- the food is crappy, the restaurant \manager\" acts like a [Removed] == and I think it is getting beyond repair. Even though we have meetings etc, nothing is ever done, there is no compromise, no solution finding it is their way or the highway -- find another place
