All bells and whistles. There are more affordable assisted living facilities in the area where your love ones will be safe and taken care of properly. Recommend asking for a tour in the evenings or weekends

The layout and care in this facility cannot be beat. Perfect for my mother who likes to wander. The rooms are large and spacious. Most of the LNAs that have cared for my mother are outstanding. They treat her with kindness and she is always happy. As the review before mine stayed, the management turnover in this building in 2013-14 has been atrocious. I just found out that the lovely activity director is now leaving. The activity staff is the highlight of the building. They bring light and creativity to even my mother, who wouldn't pick up a paint brush before coming to The Arbors. They bring fun and educational programming to people that most would say can no longer learn. A concern is bringing old staff back in. It seems their sales department is a constant rotating door. I guess if you don't fill the seats, you're out in a month. This time they brought in a loudmouth woman that used to work there. All I hear from her are negatives. I was in the lobby today and she was saying how horrible the Christmas tree looked. The tree my mother helped decorate. It's a shame to see so many people come in and out and this LCB company holds onto the bad seeds. I hope this company wakes up before they lose even more families.

Mom fell the first night she was there and two more times within the first few weeks, the last time fracturing her pelvis! She spent more time in the hospital than at the facility. They had assessed her before we moved her there and said that they could adequately supervise her. What a joke! We feel it was a total sales job just to get the money.

My mother began using assisted living services at Benchmark when she was no longer able to independently walk, dress, use the restroom, or transition to/from her wheel chair. She was not in memory care, but needed assistance with these physical tasks and was provided a pendant/button to press anytime she needed help using the restroom or with anything else. It can take a very long time for staff to respond to those calls, and sometimes they do not respond at all. We raised this w/ management numerous times over the course of months and were always told it had been fixed or it would be resolved, but it was never taken care of.

I have visited a resident many times. I will start with she is happy, says people are friendly and doesn't feel alone. What I have seen of the meals is less than palatable and mostly room temperature. Fish cakes you can pick up like a hard roll. Sandwiches with 1/2 piece ham & 1 slice of cheese. Haven't seen fresh fruit or fresh vegetables offered. A small salad w/dressing that not everyone likes. There is no variety. Some of the same meals are given every week. Where are the meals/food so eloquently mentioned in your brochure? I'd like to know, would you dine with residents and eat from their menu?

They will add on unnecessary medical equipment without checking insurance first. They will add visiting nurse and charge Medicare when the resident has no real medical history that warrants this. The front desk receptionist is rude. Staffing does not do Q15 minute checks, my father fell 5 times in 22 days. I finally decided to take him home, where I should have left him and never chose this Community.

Overall not happy with the care received for the money we were charged. They were so helpful getting him admitted but no so much when his health declined right after admission.

Nothing in terms of the transfer went according to the way they said it would. Also. Now that we're 45 days in it seems they pulled the old bait and switched on me telling my mother and myself that the price would be one thing and that they did an assessment and then get in the door and the assessment doesn't matter and they raise all the prices above what we were .Looking at in other homes

Staff under qualified - poor judgement leading to poor decision making resulting in atrocious outcomes for resident. They ultimately evicted resident due to their admitted inability to provide adequate care.

My mom was in memory care and our experience there was awful. The nursing staff was not good. They gave me misinformation numerous times about my mother. For ex, they called me and told me she had a blood clot and when I returned their call, they told me that they made a mistake and the message was meant for another patient. I went one day to find my mother feeling so sick, sitting in the hall by herself. Once I got there, they realized they should've called 911. So if I didn't visit that day, I wonder what would have happened. Head of nursing staff was so unfriendly and ended up going on. A leave of absence which was necessary bc she was the most unfriendly person. One benefit of benchmark is that if you end up going to a hospital for over seven days, then they don't charge you the daily service fees.

If I could use 0 I would. They called a taxi for my mother who was 96 and dementia on a cold, raining January night. She had no money and no key to her house. If I hadn't been at her house to pick up her mail, I don't know where she would have ended up. I brought her back but the next day she was rushed to the hospital because she was unresponsive. They probably shouldn't do that.

The food is never hot the help does not and the management will just jack the rate up . our family stayed less than a year and the cost doubles. The management will lie right to your face. You can believe it or not but i speak the truth. if you want frustration and headache for your loved one sign up.

My father fell 5x in 25 days on memory care floor. The last fall he was sent for emergency surgery after refracturing his left hip, thus destroying all the hardware, and underwent a total hip replacement. Facility charged my father [fee removed] for a new nebulizer then at discharge switched it with his one from home. Basically stole new one. Ordered W/C and didn’t check his insurance wanted him to pay [fee removed] out of pocket. A referral was made for a visiting nurse, my father has 3 medical diagnoses and takes 4 medications, question is WHY? When I was packing up his belongings, I found his [fee removed] bedside hospital table in someone else’s room. Facility did not want to return a [fee removed]medication, like pulling teeth to get it back. Nursing staff lied to my son about medication having already been picked up, it was sitting in supervisor’s office, janitor retrieved it for us. Lots of passive/ aggressive behavior noticed after complaints about frivolous charges and care. Staff rude!!Dad home now & SAFE!!

I'm not very happy with them. They welcomed my loved one with open arms after performing a nursing assessment expressing great confidence they could meet her needs. Within a month they changed their minds and declared they could no longer safely care for her, forcing us to find another facility for my loved one.

Don't send your loved one there. They don't have enough staff to care for residents currently living there ... but they keep doing tours and accepting new residents They have a lot of residents transferring to different communities. The aids are rude. Some of management are rude. Don't be fooled by the bling bling $10M remodel !!

I would not recommend this place to anyone. I feel they were very careless with my Moms care level that we were paying for.

Make sure it is the correct facility to care for them. Even though they did an assent before checking him in. There facility could not handle his care and we paid lot of money up front to just have to move him out before even a year. They provided very little support or help.

If you are looking for a place that doesn't obtain medical care in a timely manner, where 1/2 the staff doesn't follow there own covid protocol, where they get you there with a lower price and then raise it by $[removed] a month and lastly do not have enough aids so they come in to turn off the signal on your pendant, then say they have to go to make there response time look good. If you looking for all those features you have the right place. I am actually shocked that they got a 6.8 rating and not lower.

Contrary to the website touting social programs, lectures, wine tasting, yoga, etc., activities either don’t happen or are poorly planned/executed. Some of many examples all from 2023: the social calendar said residents would gather to discuss the news. Residents arrived and were told they were not going to discuss the news because it is too depressing. No alternative activity/discussion was offered. The director told residents chairs would be set up outside so they could watch a parade. When the time came the director was gone and no one had coordinated the activity or set up any chairs, but it turns out the parade was in a different part of town anyway. Residents were invited to a "Real English-Style Tea Party," and given hot water, paper cups and Lipton tea bags. Wine-tasting means a single box of wine: no presentation on wine tasting, no varieties to sample, no discussion on wine - just one box of wine. Events are often canceled without notice.
