My Review of Legacy Ridge Neese Road

This isn't a terrible place; however, if you can find a different place I would recommend you go with the other option. We weren't able to visit my loved one during their stay due to COVID. The staff would seem annoyed when we would call check on our loved one.

Dropped in to see this facility with no appointment. [Name removed] was very sweet and caring she gave the tour. didn't see many staff around then when I saw two employees on the floor they were both on their phones not speaking English.place seemed clean. the elevator was very loud and sounded like it needed to be serviced. pricing is way to high. they want to charge for everything. a resident was talking to staff about his medication and you could tell resident couldn't understand the employee because of her deep accent. didn't care for how employee reacted she was rude. not a match for my family member.

They were awful!!

The bathroom floor was rarely cleaned. The staff had bad attitudes and very low morale. The food was terrible - fried, greasy, covered in congealed gravy. Management is ineffective and the staff reflects it. Although assured by the manager that staff members who demonstrated egregious behavior had been dismissed, they were not. Residents were literally in tears, because they were rushed through their meals and then the meals were taken away from them before they could finish. The residents were really afraid of the staff, because they often said "don't complain or say anything, they will make it worse for you if you do." It broke my heart not to be able to take them all with me when we got our loved one out of there ASAP!

Not a good decision

My mom moved here when she only needed assisted living and she did well because she needed minimal support from the staff. I visited my mom 4-7 days a week while she lived here and I called bingo 3/4 Saturdays a month. Most of the ALF residents and staff knew me, I visited my mother often. I feel comfortable giving an honest review of Brookdale Woodstock. The Executive Director [removed] was not helpful or supportive at all. Some staff ([removed]) were helpful, kind and went the extra mile, while most were just there for a paycheck. When my mom's needs changed and she needed memory care, I knew I needed to move her somewhere else. Their memory care staff basically stared at the residents and did the absolute minimum. The days that my mom spent in memory care at Brookdale Woodstock set her back cognitively. The food was not good at best. My mom frequently complained about it and I would not have eaten it if given the choice. My mother has lived at three other similar communities and Brookdale is the second to worst. I would not recommend this place for assisted living and would strongly advise against it for memory care. If I could talk to myself one year ago right before I moved my mother into Brookdale Woodstock, I would have stopped myself from moving her there.

New ownership no change

Our grandmother has been there going on 2 years. Before sign the contract we were told are activities for the memory care patients and if special dietary needs we requested they could accommodate. None of this happened and still hasn’t. Since our time there the amount of turnover has been excessive. Two General Managers have come and gone. Still no activities manager and if your loved one has special dietary needs look elsewhere. Monthly fees are going up. Part of the reasons are supplies (?). We supply her toilet paper. Services (?). They’ve said they’ll be hiring an activities director and dietitian since day one. I stopped in a few weeks ago and they had one employee for entire memory care unit. I highly recommend if you are looking for an assisted living facility you look elsewhere.

Beware

While Legacy Ridge Neese rd looks nice, Beware. I moved my LATE husband into memory care on [date removed]and he died from multiple infections on [date removed]. He had Alzheimer’s and low blood pressure but tested negative for Covid. He was free of infection per his intake medical report provided by Hospice care physician. He died from Covid, Sepsis. UTI, and metabolic encephalitis. He was not properly kept clean and free from infection. The memory care staff was also very curt with my husband and would not respond when he called them. Several times he would call me at home for help and then I would call the facility and ask management to go check on him and report the staff. I have other friends who overheard staff on the cell phone yelling at my husband.

Do not place someone you love here

Theft (recorded & reported but ignored), medication management & administering, basic housekeeping, safety & security. Too many issues to list with just 1000 characters. While there are a few great employees here, there are so many dangerous issues that by and large I cannot rate this facility any higher than 1 star. When mom initially came to live here, the staff worked well as a team, provided great care and really treated mom (and us!) like family. Sadly, that changed for the worse & continued to decline when a new Executive Director (ED) and new Wellness Director (WD)came on staff in early summer 2022. Issues we encountered were discussed with the ED and WD but were never resolved. Additionally, these issues have been discussed the Regional Director and documented to the CEO, COO, and VP of Operations.

I was very disappointed with my tour of Brookdale Woodstock. I never saw a caregiver. At one point before the tour, I had to ask an employee that was washing dishes to assist with a resident. Terrible! The studio and studio deluxe rooms were nice. Overall, the facility is older and not much activity going on. The elevator was very loud, so clearly need maintenance. No green space to enjoy outdoors.

A visitor's visit to Brookdale in Woodstock.

I was just a visitor looking for assisted living for my Aunt. I have a family friend at Brookdale in Woodstock that is why I considered this place. I noticed they have "happy hour" and "wine parties" when these are seniors mostly in their late 70's and 80's who SHOULD NOT be mixing alcohol with medication they are given. This is absurd to me and could be a liability suit. This is the opposite of what registered doctors in professional buildings tell you! refrain from alcohol while on this medication. The other thing I noticed where the poor quality meals these residents received! They were not nutritionally planned. The chef, Carl really needs a training from Corporate!! He should even invest in a cook book in planning meals. Several meals I have seen shrimp scampi with noodles and red beans and rice, and soup. That was a meal I saw. Also I saw turkey pot pie with no turkey only vegetables with big lima beans, and cabbage soup. Fruit is not a regular item for residents. The same spice is used in everything soups, gravys, etc. and it is horrible. Many of the staff have quit since our family member has been there. THEY are understaffed! I have seen the staff friendly but not seeing the care or resident satisfaction is a first priority not for the price the residents pay for being their. Little activities are available for the residents. I have even been told a visiting doctor, Dr. Wilkes comes into the residents room checks their blood pressure and heart beat and is there probably 5 mins and his charge for seeing the patient is $175. Why can't they use a medical doctor that is in most healthcare networks? I will be still searching for a place that is most concerned with resident satisfaction--that is why this operation is available due to the need for senior adult living. Resident satisfaction doesn't seem to be a main concern! I was disappointed the time I visited! Needs improvement! I hope admin does not change my review. It is an honest review

We had a terrible experience here. They were really bad. The management staff was not good, and was extremely rude. I never once got a correct bill. Even cleaning after messes and accidents could take a week or more. If you are going to put a loved one here, you need to keep a close eye and advocate for your loved one.

I dont recommend

We did not have a good experience with Legacy Ridge Neese Road. We were told a number of things and once we moved in it did not seem to be that way at all. If you put your loved ones in one any of these facilities, they do not care for them the way they should. I would not recommend.
