I would highly recommend Brookdale's Memory Care facility. Our mother had previously been in a very nice Assisted Living facility, but they were not equipped to provide the staff attention and redirection necessary to address her increased dementia issues - so our search began. After visiting about 8 facilities we narrowed it down to two that had very similar philosophies. We chose Brookdale because of proximity to family. It also had been recently updated with an open garden and patio area for residents, which the other facility did not have and our mother enjoys. But the most importantly our mother is happy here. They have been able to reduce her medications which decreases her anxiety and get her involved in activities and interacting with other residents.

I can't say enough about the memory care caregivers. they are totally there for the resident and their care. they make sure they are clean, dressed nicely, notice when there is a problem and are great at communicating with family members. activities are more limited than other places, but I would much rather have the one-on-one special care they give than more/better activities. and they have one of the best head nurses in the coachella valley overseeing all of this.

It was a big adjustment in the beginning, but I think things are going better now. He likes the food, and the people that live there are pretty friendly as well. There have been just minor maintenance issues, but nothing major, and I think those will get addressed pretty quickly.

I think the rooms are lai8d out really well. The food is good and they have good service. I have nothing bad to say.

We were very pleased to find Atria Collwood when it became necessary to move mom to a more affordable assisted living facility. The staff, premises, food, private rooms & the activities offered at Atria Collwood are all top notch & everyone is very friendly. It's really a lovely place & we feel fortunate that mom was able to move in. We wished we'd known about Atria Collwood sooner!

My mom moved in on Feb 7th. So far everything is great.

Things are going pretty well. The staff is nice and the community is clean. They have a really good activity program. The food is kind of bland, in the memory care they don't have a lot of options. The correspondence back and forth could be improved. When I call and get voice mail and they are not quick about getting back to me. The late fee is 150$ and that seems really steep.

The only downside about Oak Hill is that it doesn't offer a large range of activities. It is clean, bright, and the staff is great. I even met with the owner on my tour, and he was very cooperative. He gave me a lot of information, and told me about the Assisted Living Waiver Program as well. This will definitely help out financially, and is one of the reasons why I am considering moving my grandmother here.

Wonderful Community. Nothing in life is perfect, there are things that could be a little better. The things that matter are very well taken care of. I have had many experiences at many communites. This is the best by far.

Everyone makes sure the residents get to know each other and encourage them to participate in activities. My mom is very happy here.

Although Mom has been with the residential center only a week or so, she seems to be adjusting well to the facilities. Caretakers are very nice. Food is excellent.

My loved one is in the Memory Care Unit. She is so very happy there! She spends her days in the large central area. Just sitting in there, with many other residents, and all the activity of the staff going on, she is entertained. It is also a relief to have her in a locked area, as she kept trying to escape her previous assisted living accommodations. She now feels safe, and taken care of, and doesn't seem to know that she's locked in. Her care there is not perfect -- her hygiene isn't what I'd prefer, but then she is very stubborn and it's hard to get her to do anything she doesn't want, and she doesn't like other's help; and some mixing of residents laundry results in missing items of my Mom's, while other resident's items are in her drawers. But the staff is very friendly and do a great job, imo, in a very difficult situation. They are very responsive to any concerns that I raise.

I liked that fact that it looks more like a home rather than an institution. It looks more like a family lives here so it provides a home like feeling. The grounds are very beautiful with plenty of room to walk around; the home is located on about 3 acres of land. We are very pleased with them and would recommend them to anyone.

My mother needed Assisted Living and my Dad needed Memory Care. Emeritus has been very accomodating to their needs. They made the transition easy by providing movers. My parents ar ehappy now and I feel more secure that their needs are being cared for. Karen is an excellent Director and was so helpful in many ways. I would highly recommnd Emeritus.

Beautiful grounds. The place felt very home-like. The rooms were well appointed. Definitely a contender.

My experience has been great. The management staff helped me in knowing what to say to help my grandmother feel at ease. Her apartment is the perfect size for her and the care staff is very kind and always willing to help. The daily activities has something for everyone and I am so grateful for a very well maintained facility where my grandmother is safe.

The food is great. The only issue now is that they are very inconsistent about having a set time for showers. One day it’s at 3 p.m., and other days it’s after dinner. My dad wants it to be the same time for each shower. The apartment is small but big enough, with a cozy bedroom and living area. They are two separate rooms but roughly the same size.

Although my Dad was only there for 5 short days before he passed, overall His care from the staff in addition to Hospice was Wonderful. One definite disappointment was that the staff that helped to get him moved in so quickly due to his rapid decline, NEVER reached out to my Mom or Our family to offer condolences for his loss- NO phone call or sympathy card, NOTHING. Whether my Dad was there for 5 days or 5 years, a loss is a loss. For this reason, although most of this experience was great in sooo many ways, we may not refer them to anyone for this reason. The staff was friendly and answered all of my questions. The facility has the basic amenities that we are looking for and it is close to where we live. The rooms seem a bit small.

It was great tour and very nice staffs. Even without appointment, [name removed] still took her time to give me an entire facility tour. Thank you. I like good size bedroom, clean hallway, nice entertainment, excersise, & dining rooms. Good variety daily activities. Room & Level care 1-6 prices are quite high though. I was hoping cheaper prices if facility is close to East San Diego area.
